Help with Using ROG Raikiri 2 with my XBox Ally

Hi all,
I got the ROG Raikiri 2 today, and I've done all of the set-up steps I can find for it.
I installed the Bluetooth driver.
I installed the GP Companion. I think it updated to 2.0.0.1.
When Gearlink prompted me to I installed the Gearlink Utility, but I'm not exactly sure what that is or if it's needed.
I updated to the latest controler firmware.

So here are the problems I'm having. First, the Library and Armoury Crate buttons aren't working. When I opened Gearlink it recognized I was on an Ally device and asked me if I wanted those buttons to be already mapped or if I wanted to restore defaults for the controler, so I kept it so they're mapped. They don't work. I saw some Reddit posts about this that say I need to install an older version of one of the drivers or companion software, but they were discussing much older versions than what I'm running. Do I still need to install a very much outdated GP companion to make this work?
Second, I appear to be rather limited as to what I can bind the back buttons to do. My preference would be to bind one to L3 and one to R3, (or the two stick clicks for XBox controls,) but those don't appear to be options. I would also like to map at least one of them to function like the back buttons on my actual handheld do. I don't see an option to do this either. Is there a way to make this thing work the way I want it to? It was basically advertised to grant the same functionality of my Ally controls while it's docked, but it kind of seems like it doesn't actually do that. I would appreciate any help on this.

Also just as an aside, I'm really not fond of its charging stand. I have a lot of trouble getting it lined up on the charging contacts. It's kind of a letdown when I compare it to my 8Bitdo Elite 2 which just fits in its cradle exactly one way which puts it right on the contacts.

Maxwell 2 ANC Turning Itself On

Hi all, I've mostly been having a good experience with my Maxwell 2 ANC. The only thing is, it powers itself on every once in a while. Last night it powered itself on and depleted the few hours of battery it had left. Other than that it works great, but really hoping this gets fixed in a firmware update.

How do I map the back buttons on my external controler to function the same as the macro buttons on the back of my XBox Ally?

I have an 8Bitdo Elite 2 that I like to use with my XBox Ally when it's docked. I play a lot of games with mods that require keyboard inputs that aren't mapped for controlers, so I create macros for them using Armoury Crate. Is there a way I can map the back buttons of my external controler to function like the back buttons of my Ally?

Turtle Beach Stealth Pro 2: Has anybody else gotten a unit where one driver is louder than the other?

MAJOR UPDATE! Hi all, I did end up ordering a replacement pair and returning my originals. I can confirm that I just got unlucky enough to receive a defective headset the first time. The replacement arrived and works perfectly. No driver mismatch. Also as an added bonus this headset and case don't smell so strongly of whatever chemical process went into making the case and pads. I absolutely love this headset. I've been searching for a gaming headset for months that checks off everything I want and this is it. Excellent audio quality, good mic quality, ANC and ambient mode, simultaneous bluetooth which actual good quality bluetooth audio, 2.4 wireless with a dongle transmitter for convenience with my gaming handheld, and comfortable without leatheerette ear cushions. I didn't even care about the swappable battery and multiple transmitters, but now that I have it I love it. The charging base transmitter just stays with my XBox now and the other one is for my ROG Ally. And as additional bonuses, it came with a nice, albeit bulky, carying case. You can also update firmware with the mobile app, which I've never encountered with a headset like this. This literally does everything that I can think of that I would want a gaming headset to do. The only headset I've tried that beats the SP 2 in anything is both versions of the Audeze Maxwell 2 which beat it by a little bit in sound quality. But the SP 2 wins everything else, and has excellent audio quality in its own right. If you're like me and you've been trying headsets from tons of different brands and haven't tried this one yet, give it a try.

Hi guys, I'm absolutely loving almost everything about my SP 2. I'm all but certain I will be keeping it over the Audeze Maxwell 2 ANC version. The Maxwell does sound a little better, but the SP 2 is very very close, and the SP 2 also beats the Maxwell by a mile in features.
The only thing holding me back is I have a problem with my unit, and I wanted to check to see if it's common. the left driver is louder than the right by a small but noticeable amount, which imbalances everything. Has anyone else experienced this? I want to make sure before I go through the hastle of replacing my unit, because Amazon is not actually giving me the option to replace. I'll have to get a refund and then order another one. So if this issue is common I don't want to mess with that, but I'm hoping it's not because I haven't heard anything about it.

Looking for Help with Battlemad Aspect

Hi all, I'm running a whirlwind Barb build which recommends battlemad aspect. Does that aspect mean I need to use my duel wield arsenel? It only gets its bonuses when swapping weapons, but if I set my arsenel to auto it just stays with my two-handed bludgeoning. Will it auto-swap between my two-handed weapons, and if it doesn't already do this is there a way to make it?

I Think my Audeze Maxwell 2 ANC XBox Version Might Have Gotten Destroyed in Shipping Transit

Not here to complain because it looks like this has already been resolved, but I've never seen this happen before so I'm curious what you guys think.
I ordered a Maxwell 2 ANC XBox version soon after it came out on Monday, and it shipped from Sylmar, CA on Tuesday. By Wednesday morning it had reached a UPS location much closer to my home, but then it didn't move for the rest of the day. This morning I tracked it again and noticed that it had again departed from Sylmar, CA and seemed to be going along the same rout to my address, and I'll now be getting the product tomorrow. Like I said, I'm not complaining. It's only another day and I'm also testing out some Turtle Beach Stealth Pro 2s while I wait, which I do recommend if you want a headset with all the gaming headset ammenities that still has excellent, but not Maxwell-level, sound quality. But anyway, I'm curious if anyone has ever seen this with a package before. The only explanation I can think of is that UPS ruined the initial package and they had to ship a fresh one. If that's the case, hopefully UPS covered the damage. But I don't know, maybe the package did a u-turn for some reason. What do you guys think?

Audeze Maxwell 2 Can Head Tracking Be Disabled

So I am a gamer that is totally blind. When you can't see, head tracking is completely pointless, at least if it's what I think it is where the dolby atmos audio is centered on the screen and moves as you move your head. Since I can't see I would very much prefer audio to stay fixed like it does on the regular Maxwell 2. Is it possible to disable head tracking?

Non-competetive Gamer Looking for Feedback on the Turtle Beach Stealth Pro 2

I don't play first person shooters or game competetively, and all of the reviews only seem to talk about games like that. I play single player games like ,The Last of Us, Skyrim, Baldur's Gate 3, etc. I also play a lot of Diablo IV, and fighting games like Mortal Kombat One, Dragon Ball FighterZ and Street Fighter 6. I am blind, so I always game with headphones on. I frequently party with friends on Diablo IV, so I need something with a mic, so I've been looking for a gaming headset that I like.
I'm debating between these and the Maxwell 2 ANC version. Do the Stealth Pro 2 sound good with the kinds of games I mentioned? If any EQ is required what should I change to improve the stock sound profile? I find that most gaming headsets don't actually sound good for the games I like to play because they're tuned for FPS players.
Update with Headset Impressions: After purchasing these I saw the Maxwell 2 ANC released and I decided that since I had liked the regular Maxwell 2 so much I'd rather try those. Unfortunately I couldn't cancel the Amazon order so I'll be trying both. I'll drop my impressions here, and I'm happy to come back with my thoughts on the Maxwell 2 ANC as well if people are interested.
First thing I noticed. I took the case for these out of the box they came in and opened it up. And was greeted with the most unpleasant stench. Holy crap, whatever manufacturing is done with this case, or the headset, or all of the above, it smells so so bad! I'm desperately airing them out in hopes that it will go away. I've very rarely received a product that smelled this bad.
Once I got over that though, I unpacked all the components and ran a firmware update. I actually screwed it up the first time because my PC went to sleep mid-update. But anyways set-up was a sinch once I ran the recovery. I love the replaceable batteries and the fact that it comes with a dongle as well as the larger charger/transmitter. Logitech should take a hint for the next Astro A50. I also love simultaneous bluetooth and that the detatchable mic is flip-to-mute with a digital connection, though the choice of micro USB instead of USB C is a bit odd.
I love the build and was able to get it fitted to my head nicely. The first thing I did was set it up through Bluetooth to control settings with the Swarm 2 app on my phone. The thing I immediately didn't like as an Airpods user is that the difference between ANC and ambient mode is controled with a slider in the app, and all you can do on the actual headset is toggle ANC/ambient on or off. It's nice that it's configurable and all, but I would prefer to be able to have an ANC and an ambient mode option to toggle between on the headset. Also, I'm worried that I may have a slightly defective model. When using Bluetooth, the sound coming from the left driver seems a bit louder than the sound coming from the right. I only hear that over Bluetooth though.
As for gaming perforance, I've only played a little so far but I am impressed. I connected the puck transmitter to my XBox and fired up Diablo IV. I started up a new war plan and jumped into the Pit, and was very impressed at how easily I could pick out the different monsters around me as I Whirlwinded my way through a tier 70 pit run. I found the sound well balanced and enjoyable. Not at all flat-sounding like most FPS-focused sets. I'm running it with Dolby Atmos enabled, and I had a great time blasting through the Pit and some Helltides. All in all, I'm very impressed with the set, and its robust featureset will certainly put it in competition with the Maxwell 2. In the end though, my highest priority is sound qualy, and I was very impressed with the original Maxwell 2, which I do believe sounds better than the Stealth Pro 2. So if I get similar results from the ANC version I think I'll end up keeping the Maxwell 2.

Has any statement been made regarding the XBox version of Maxwell 2 ANC?

Update: Question answered. Looks like it'll be another week or two. Thanks.Hi all, I've been looking for info on this for the past few days. Has Audeze said anything about this? I do mostly game on PC, but I do use my console sometimes and unfortunately it's an XBox. I plan to switch to a PS as soon as possible but there you go. The XBox version of this headset has been unavailable since it launched. Is there any additional info on this that I'm missing?
Also, I know I mentioned that I want to get a PS in this thread, and that's not a popular decision on Reddit right now. Please keep any discussion of Sony's discontinuation of physical media off this post. I accepted society's transition to digital long ago, and the only physical media I still purchase are vinal records. This post is for discussion of the MIA XBox version of the Maxwell 2 ANC, and not a place to complain about no more physical media for PS games.

Maxwell 2 ANC: People need to stop talking about simultaneous wired and Bluetooth like it's new!

People, the regular Maxwell 2 can also do that! I've seen a reddit post and an actual product announcement/review that both call this a new feature. I swear they're doing it to try and make us forget that what we actually didn't get was simultaneous 2.4 ghz wireless and Bluetooth.

Where to Buy Maxwell 2 ANC

Update: Answered. It's at 10 AM pacific so it's in a couple hours. Thanks u/TwinCitiesJHawk

I've seen posts that indicate that this headset is now available, but I'm not seeing it available for purchase anywhere I've looked, including the Audeze web site. Can anybody tell me if this is actually available to purchase in the U.S., and if so where should I be looking?

HomePods Can't Play Podcasts from Manually Added RSS Feeds

I started getting back into some podcasts recently, and I subscribed to a Patreon that offered additional content. I added the RSS feed to Apple Podcasts on my phone, and it syncs with other devices like my computer and Apple TV just fine. But my HomePods can't play it. I can AirPlay it to them but they are incapable of streaming it on their own. I wonder why that is? You'd think that since the show is in my library it would sync to them. But I can't even pass it to them through Handoff., because it just AirPlays.

Why does the Last of Us Think I only have 2 gb of vram on my Ally?

TL: DR, I've got my XBox Ally set to 6 gigs of vram and this game is freaking out because it thinks I've only got 2. Why?

Long version. I am a gamer that is completely blind, and both of The Last of Us games, specifically the fully remastered versions for PS 5 and PC, have full accessibility for blind players. Anyway, because I have no vision at all I always just crank my graphics settings to the minimum to get best performance, and I also try and set my Ally's vram to the minimum required so it has more ram available. I got this game, went through all the settings, and went ahead and turned all the display and graphics stuff that effects performance down, except frame rate which I set to max out at 120. The game was warning me I didn't have enough vram and seemed to think I had only 2 gigs. I went into Armoury Crate and saw that I had it set to 4 gigs at the time, so I increased to 6. The game still thinks I've only got 2. On a side note, it takes like 5 minutes to load my saved game, but that might just be that it's a power hungry game, which I have heard is the case. But any thoughts on why it seems to think I've got so little vram?

Question About Running Apps in the Background on ROG XBox Ally

I've got the regular white XBox Ally. I am completely blind, and I play games using audio only, either with accessibility within the game itself or with mods. I generally just set all the graphics settings as low as they'll go, so I can run practically anything I'm interested in playing on here. Just to make sure the actual game runs smoothly and I'm getting at least 60 fps for any anime fighting games that will slow the game down if the frame rate drops, I have 6 gb dedicated for vram and I minimize the number of other apps running as much as possible. Other than directly from XBox I have games from Steam and from Battle.net, and currently I have it set up so that neither Steam nor Battle.net will launch at start-up. I also have Battle.net set to completely quit when I launch a game. I would do this with Steam as well but Steam does not have that as an option. My question is, is this necessary?
As much as I'm trying to maximize performance, I do appreciate having both launchers running in the background to update games. Steam in particular takes a while to boot up the first time I use it. For Battle.net, I can also enable the extension for it in my XBox app settings so that I can manage downloads and updates right in my XBox FSE. Do either of these apps take up enough resources that it's really worth stopping them from running in the background? If I need a bit more ran I can probably drop vram to 4 gigs and still get the FPS I need. I only have it set at 6 to allow a bit of wiggle room, but none of my games technically need that. Am I overdoing it to try and max out performance? Am I likely to notice significant issues with Steam and Battle.net running in the background?

Question about the Version of Dolby Access that Comes with my XBox Ally

I'm trying to figure out if I should use the version of Dolby Access that came with my XBox Ally, or if I should use the Microsoft Store version since I already have a license. I had to set up my XBox Ally from scratch a second time because I messed some stuff up. This time I noticed that it already has Dolby Access installed on it, which I didn't notice last time because I just installed the Microsoft Store version over it before even checking. I've been playing with Atmos enabled, and the way this Asus one sounds seems a bit different, though I could be imagining things. I am using it with headphones. The main difference I'm noticing from the Microsoft Store version is that this Asus one has an option to make the built-in speakers do Dolby Atmos, which is a bit of a gimmick but does give them a bit more punch. It also has a dynamic profile setting that's supposed to use the correct profile depending on what you're doing. This is all well and good, but has anybody spent time messing with both versions and determined if there's any meaningful difference in how they handle the audio? Just figured I'd ask since I already own the regular version of the app.

Update: I've researched as much as I can, and I guess there's no difference sound-wise between the Asus version and the standard MS store version. Maybe it's just the headphones I'm using that don't handle Atmos well, or maybe I'm imagining things, but I could swear they sound different than I remember and not necessarily in a good way. Or maybe Diablo 4 messed up its Atmos audio. Ah well. In my quest to find a gaming headset I actually like, I've got a ROG Kithara showing up tomorrow, so we'll see if that's better.

Apple Music Sometimes Won't Stream High Resolution Lossless When It Is Available

I'm having a weird issue. I've got headphones plugged into my iPhone through USB C that have a built-in DAC that can do up to 24-bit 96 khz lossless. So just to experiment if I can hear the difference or not, I enabled high resolution lossless in my Music settings. I got the little warning and I told the phone to do it anyway. I picked out some tracks that say they're available with "High Resolution Lossless," and I figured I'd have the best luck with really high quality produced tracks so I picked some prog and metal stuff that has very good production work and started streaming tracks over Wifi. The first track was one off of Dream Theater's newest album, and when I checked my phone indicated that it was streaming high res at 24-bit 96 khz as expected. I tried an older song off of Porcupine Tree's In Absentia album, which I'm not a huge fan of but it's so well produced I frequently test speakers and headphones with it. Anyway the player screen showed regular lossless at 24-bit 48 khz, but there is a 96 khz version available that it refuses to stream. I had to download the track in order to play it. This behavior occurs with all the songs on that album. As yet I've been unable to find more but they're probably out there.
Ultimately this issue doesn't affect me greatly since I determined that I can't hear any difference at all between 44.1 or 48 khz and 96 , but it just kind of struck me as a weird bug. Has anybody else encountered this behavior where there is a high res version of a track available but your phone will only stream regular lossless?

Airpods Max 2 Repair Taking an Eternity

So I was having some of the launch issues with these that people described, namely the battery draining while in the smart case. They would also forget my settings, namely the one where I change the digital crown from "back to front" to "front to back," in order to make it function like, you know, every other volume knob in the universe. Anyway I didn't fully understand how the Express Replacement option of Applecare worked and the rep at my local store was singularly unhelpful, so instead of doing an Express Replacement, (which I now know would have been the most quick and efficient option even if I would have need to have a hold placed on my card,) they sent the headset in for repair on May 10. On May 12 I got a notification that the repair was on hold because they had to order a part. Anyways it's June 1 now and the repair is still on hold. I've tried contacting Apple to see if they'll just switch the repair to an Express Replacement since they already have my unit but apparently I have no options but to wait for this backlogged part. And all of this could have been avoided if the rep at the store had just explained what Express Replacement was when I asked about it, because I would have just taken it home and done that instead.

Has anybody used the ROG Delta 2 with an Ally, and if so how was the experience?

Hi all, I'm on what seems to be a never ending search for a good gaming headset. I just saw the Delta 2 on sale, and I've been really curious about how well it'll go with my XBox Ally,. I assume it just works with Armoury Crate? It seems to be well reviewed in comparison to other stuff in its price range from brands like Steel Series, Razer and Corsaire. What are people's thoughts on it?

Is there a way to lower the latency of AirPods Pro or Max connection to my PC?

Hi all, sorry if this is kind of a weird question. I'm an iPhone user but not a Mac user. I really love my AirPods, and more trying to make them a bit more efficient with my PC. I'm a gamer, albeit a casual one, and I have had a good experience using them for gaming with my iPhone. I know Apple's Game Mode is supposed to reduce latency with Bluetooth accessories somehow, but frankly even without Game Mode I don't tend to experience any particular latency with them. When connected with my PC, which has the same Bluetooth 5.3, however, the latency is very noticeable. Have any of you stumbled on a way to fix this over the years? If not I'll just have to suck it up and get a proper gaming headset, though I've never managed to find one of those I was truly happy with. For now what I have been doing is using my AirPods Max 2 with a USB C cable, but obviously wireless would be convenient. I already know to disable the hands free mode in Windows to avoid altering the sound on a Bluetooth headset when in voice chat. Other than that, any suggestions?

Any news about Maxwell 2 ANC?

Hi all, so as much as I enjoyed my Maxwell 2, I did return it to hopefully buy the ANC version when it drops. I most likely will use the Transparency mode as much as ANC for when I am spending time with my family and also gaming, but as good as the passive noise reduction of the headset is I do really like ANC. Any word on when these might launch?
