Finding digital builds of sets (such as 10497 Galaxy Explorer)

Is there a good source for fan builds of existing sets, the way there was for LDD? I can't seem to find any forums or sites with such a listing or repository.

If no such resource exists, would people be interested in participating in one?

I am especially interested in a digital build of 10497 Galaxy Explorer.

Just wanting to say hi to everyone!

Hi folks, I've missed you all! Been away for a bit due to health issues, and can't promise to start churning out new stuff just yet, but I wanted to say hello and let you know HeroQuest has never been far from my mind, even in the darkest times.

I still love this game; it is a part of me forever, and I treasure the friendships and connections I have made here with fellow fans.

A special thanks and hello to the awesome Lord-Drucifer, for keeping things running so well here. You're a legend, mate.

Looking forward to making new stuff soon, and chatting more with you all again.

Cheers, Banjo

PS When AH finally get that app updated with WoM, I will of course be making the boss cards and such for it... for those who have asked :)

Reset or clear dec mode drive space?

I set up dev mode a few years ago and want to start over. Is it advise (or possible) to wipe previous storage space or do I just remove the old apps and reinstall new ones?

New Flint 2 doesn't even power on?! Please help!

So, my new Flint 2 (new from Amazon AU, sealed and shrinkwrapped) arrived and I put the adaptor together and plugged it in and... nothing.

No light, no sound, just nothing. I pressed and held the reset button, tried different power points, reassembled the power adapter, all no change.

Please tell me I am missing something very obvious? I'm confused how a sealed brand new router can be "dead" out of the box, surely this can't be the answer?

This is my first real experience with a GL.iNet router so I have no idea what the issue is.

And I was so looking forward to setting this up today too!

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Just got a Flint 2, what to do first?

This is my first time setting up and using a non-ISP provided router so I've not really done this before.

I just bought a new Flint 2 (chose it over the 3 after much deliberation, since the 2 was cheaper and seemed "better" if I didn't need Wi-fi 7/tri-band, plus the coming 4 sounds better and I'd rather save for that).

Once I unbox it and set it up, what's the first things I should do settings-wise? Other than presumably update the firmware (is there any recommended to use besides the latest stable). Range/power is my most important aspect, then security.

Sorry if this is an "obvious" question, but like I said I've not done this before and this is also my first Gl.iNet router (well, I also have a Beryl AX for travel but haven't messed with its settings or used it much yet).

Is there a setup guide I should be following for initial steps?

Finally, if I need phone jack sockets for a VOIP landline, I just need to buy something that adapts a LAN port into phone ports like my ISP router had, right? I looked at Grandstream ones, but is there anything especially recommended for Gl.iNet routers?

PS Did I do wrong and should have got a Flint 3?

Difference between MSI MAG 274QPF vs MAG 275QF (both 27" WQHD)

I've never owned an MSI monitor but am looking for a mid-priced screen for my desktop PC and am quite tempted by what I found.

Currently, I am between the MSI MAG 274QPF and MAG 275QF (both 27" WQHD) for a "sweet spot" between FHD and 4K alongside price, but I am struggling to see what the difference between the two is.

If anyone can advise me, I'd really appreciate it!

Or, alternatively, if there's a different MSI monitor I should be considering instead. My useage is photo editing, general desktop use and moderate-level gaming (my PC won't handle new AAA games on super high settings, hence why I was thinking 4K would be a waste).

Flint 2 or Flint 3 and why, plus connectivity with Beryl?

I am looking to get one of these routers (I have a Beryl for travel and it's great but want something for home use) but have seen very conflicting reviews of which is best. The Flint 3 seems "worse" in power and speed, but has Wifi 7 and tri-band.

For me, cost is not an issue as the Flint 3 is just a small amount more. I just want the better option.

My PC is probably the only thing with Wifi 6 (Xbox Series X is Wifi 5 I believe) and so Wifi 7 is not really immediately useful, but the tri-band feature might be as I expect quite a few devices to be connected. Range is also a factor (see below).

I have seen references to the Flint 2 having a better processor (not just faster)... is this because it uses MediaTek (which my PC also uses and so does the Beryl, I believe)? Also reference to it being 4x4 vs 2x2 (Flint 3) but that means nothing to my newbie brain!

I'm in Australia where internet speeds are a bit slower than other places, so I'm not going to be getting more than 1gb down... currently my very old rubbish router struggles to give me 100mb down!

The appeal of open source is huge, too, and I've been considering a proper VPN for awhile, which is how I found GlInet devices in the first place.

Finally, since I am on a fairly big property, range is an issue, and I was wondering if it was possible with either router to use my Beryl AX (MT3000) as a sort of "extender" or mesh with the Flint? I've no idea about such things but saw it mentioned.

I really, REALLY appreciate any advice or help people can give here, since I'm a bit in the deep end with this (I grew up in the DOS era of computers and am quite comfortable with them, but have always lacked knowledge on networking and related equipment) and need to make a decision soon.

EDIT: So I rechecked the official site's comparison page and the Flint 2 stats are generally overall better?!

Older Network Newbie: what Equipment should I get For My New Needs?

Hi,

I am a middle-aged Australian dude with quite a bit of computer experience (dating back to the DOS and floppy disk era!), but have always lagged behind in the realm of networking knowledge. Mostly, I've just gone with whatever modem my ISP forced me to use and added a basic router for my own use. However, I now find myself moving to a much larger property with multiple users and am a bit lost at what to do.

The ideal would obviously be wired ethernet across the property (3 buildings), but the property owner is wary of the cost and work involved to do that. Anything wireless, however, I can do and pay for myself.

To start with, just to get better speeds than the rubbish old modem/router there now, I was looking at either a TP-Link BE9700, ASUS RT-BE88U or even GL.iNet GL-BE9300 (I have really liked their travel routers in the past). Subscription anything is a big no-no! I am very open to other suggestions, but hope to future proof myself as much as possible if the device is expensive. I have very little knowledge of modern modems/routers/extenders/meshes as I've been using the same old gear for 10+ years!

As for the distance issue, after discovering that the wiring really won't support ethernet-over-power (Powerline, etc.), I am wondering if a mesh (which I have never set up before, only old "extenders" which create new SSIDs and thus can cause issues) using something like a couple of ASUS ZenWiFi BD4 units would work in this case?

Or if I am kidding myself with 250 or so meter distances through multiple walls and ethernet is going to be the only way to get internet out to the furthest building?

If nothing else, at least to start with I'd like to replace the ISP modem (this ISP lets you use whatever you want, unlike my old ones) with something like the ones I've looked at, to at least improve the internet in the first two buildings (which are joined via walls; think "granny flat" and "main house").

Like I said, I am VERY inexperienced with this stuff but not with computers, so appreciate any help or suggestions.

Issues:

  • One building is farther away (200 meters or so) and requires fast gaming speeds for a young person. This might need to be "forgotten about" for now until ethernet cabling is a reality.

  • Lots of walls (some brick) and the main house is two-story. partly why I figured 6ghz wifi (I believe needs almost line of sight) wouldn't be much use to me, thus considered routers without it as well as with.

  • Internet (Australian NBN, FTTP) enters the property through the "granny flat" due to proximity to the road (company refused to install in main house), but fortunately I have full control over that area.

  • Old wiring and separate circuits seem to limit powerline-type solutions (I managed to get it working from flat-house but very slow).

  • I would like my Plex server available across the network if possible.

  • An ideal situation would be multiple networks which is why I liked the look of routers like the Asus one (which I believe does that).

https://www.gog.com/forum/tomb_raider_series/unofficial_tomb_raider_iiii_remastered_downgrade_patch_for_gog_version

I made this unofficial patch for personal use but was encouraged to share it here too. A lot seem to be wanting this, so I hope this helps you out... it took more work than I expected! As a big fan of Tomb Raider, and an avid supporter of GOG, I wanted to make this the "best" version you could buy/play and help those who dislike the new update(s) by giving them a choice to downgrade.

WHAT DOES THIS DO?

Basically, this unofficial patch will revert/"roll back" the GOG version of Tomb Raider I-III Remastered from v1.1.0 or v1.1.1 (the updates that add the new outfits and Challenge Mode, but also introduced a lot of bugs and issues) and turn it into v1.0.5d (the "last good update", as some call it, before the outfits were added). This is done by modifying and replacing the new 1.1.x altered files and removing any new ones, as well as editing the registry to revert the version number reported.

DISCLAIMER

This patch was compiled and created by Banjo as a free, unofficial fan project. It is not authorized, approved or made by GOG or Aspyr in any way and you should not contact them if you have problems with it; just reinstall the game to remove any changes this patch makes.

WHAT DO I NEED?

A legally purchased GOG version of Tomb Raider I-III Remastered, installed on your computer and updated to version v1.1.0 or v1.1.1 (that is, if you have the new outfits and Challenge Mode in the menus, you have one of these versions, if not, you have an older version and this patch isn't needed). You can purchase the game here: https://www.gog.com/en/game/tomb_raider_i_to_iii_remastered

IS IT SAFE TO USE? WILL IT BREAK MY GAME?

This is the first BETA TEST VERSION of this patch and your testing and feedback is very much appreciated. It is completely unofficial (not made by GOG or Aspyr), requires that you legally own the game itself on GOG, and is used entirely at your own risk. If the game is rendered unplayable, you might need to reinstall it. I am happy to help if there are issues with the patch, but don't get angry if it messes something up! This is a free patch made in my spare time for the love of Tomb Raider, not a commercial product.

WHAT VERSIONS HAS THIS BEEN TESTED ON?

I have tested this patch on version 1.1.0 (the "melting outfit textures" patch) and it seemed to work perfectly. I have not tested it against 1.1.1 (the "better quality outfits" patch) but it should work fine as the only files that changed were ones changed or added by 1.1.0. Please let me know if this is not the case!

WILL THIS BREAK MY SAVEGAMES?

When running this patch, you will have the option to backup your existing savegames. I have been made aware that the 1.1.x updates alter savegames, meaning it's possible "rolling back" to 1.0.x after updating may mean your savegames are no longer usable. I have not tested this, and suggest simply starting over if you choose to "roll back" however I have included optional tools to extract and "fix" your existing saves manually afterwards if you wish to do so. If you are really worried about your saves, I suggest you manually back them up before running this patch installer just in case!

WHAT IF I INSTALLED USING GALAXY?

This patch was made with the offline installers in mind (since there is currently no way to revert if you use those) but it will also work if you installed the game using GOG Galaxy... just make sure you have this game set to NOT auto-update! However, since it is already possible to roll back to 1.0.5d in Galaxy, this patch isn't really needed in that case, I just made it compatible in case you installed this way then don't have internet access to roll back or that feature is later removed.

WHAT ABOUT STEAM OR EPIC VERSIONS?

This patch was made for the GOG version of the game, since that's what I own/play, and was tested only with that version. It won't work as-is on another Steam/Epic install. However, if there is demand, I can try and make a Steam version too, but since I don't own the game on that platform I can't test it, sorry.

THE DOWNLOAD LINK IS BROKEN!

Let me know and I will reupload it. This test version was posted on a host that expires every 10 days, but when I know it is stable and working well for everyone I will upload it to a longer-lasting host via my website: https://banjosmods.wordpress.com/2026/04/22/unofficial-tomb-raider-i-iii-remastered-downgrade-patch-for-gog-version/
