Now, assuming TwistedSword is still relevant to Weird Route (which we have good reason to believe based on the Prophecy portrait, and the fact that Noelle can equip it if you cheat it into the game), Kris and Noelle will have to find someone else with the power of lost dreams to create TwistedSword, whatever it's purpose is.

Unless that person will be someone we have yet to encounter in the story, I believe the one who best fits that criteria is Susie. Ever since she started adventuring with Kris and Ralsei, all she's ever wanted was to keep doing it forever. To keep on making friends, spending time with them, and seeing amazing places. Being a hero gave her life a new purpose and meaning. Whatever evil thing is waiting for kris and Noelle on the other side of the lake, I have no doubt it's going to strip her of that somehow. It may even have to do with what she saw in the Final Prophecy just prior to talking about her 'stupid dream', but that's assuming that Weird Route is still a fulfillment of the Prophecy.

It's also entirely possible that Susie will be both the ShadowCrystal boss and the final boss of Weird Route. The Roaring Knight was the Shadowcrystal boss and a required fight in chapter 3. I think the same could be for Susie in chapter 7 side-B.

I'm curious what y'all think because I genuinely feel like this is plausible. I know Tricky Tony always has something up his sleeves tho lol. Maybe TwistedSword is a normal route exclusive and only relevant there because It gives trance-down rather than increasing trance, like ThornRing does. But, as we've seen already, a lot of Noelle's deep feelings of anger are self-rooted from her life experiences, not necessarily just from the Thornring and our manipulation. Maybe she'll be so far gone by the time she gets TwistedSword, it won't matter if she's in a trance or not.

I was so scared as a kid fighting it when I was like 8-9. The music and the sheer size and speed of the thing gave me so much anxiety. I had to get my brother to be in the room with me so I could beat it. The same thing happened when I fought the Re-deads from The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, so It's probably just cause' I was easily frightened as a child.

So we all understand that many today use the word LARP (Live action roleplaying) as larp (being a fake fan of something, a poser). There are many strong opinions on this, but I want to express my appreciation for the term. It's fun to say and it rolls off the tongue. It makes me happy to say it. I don't have any other reason for it. Shouldn't that be good enough? Like, sorry if I offend you with my joy and whimsy. I'm sorry my evil and crooked generation took live-action roleplaying and used it for their nefarious purposes, which is to say, using the term ironically and in good humor. That's how I use it, anyway.

It's probably just going to pass anyway, like most modern slang words do. Unless there's gonna be old people in rest homes saying their nurse is "chopped," and "larping being a practitioner," which in my opinion would be pretty funny.

I was watching my friend play Chapter 5 today and I noticed that Jackenstein was not in her CastleTown bakery, despite her getting all recruits in chapter 4. She had no idea he was supposed to show up here, of course, but I did because I've already beaten the chapter in both routes.

I remembered her fighting instead of "banishing" the Titan Spawn just before fighting the Titan, causing the party to "get stronger" and their HP stats to increase slightly. Other people online said that this was the reason that Jackenstein not showing up. Because your HP stat goes up in chapter 4 from fighting Titan Spawn, the game registers you as not having all recruits, EVEN THOUGH the game literally tells you on Titan Spawn's spare menu that you cannot beat them via mercy.

"Why didn't you just banish them?" Granted, It probably would have been good to check Acts before fighting. And the HP stat going up probably should have been a warning sign. But fighting an enemy that you CANNOT recruit or spare (like the Knight in chapter 3) should not lock you out of getting all recruits. Why does it matter if you banish them or fight them? The game doesn't give an explanation for that.

She went back and spent an hour or so beating the Titan normally. Sure enough, Jack was in the bakery after banishing instead of fighting, so it ended fine. But still. This should have been caught during development IMO. How many players unknowingly locked themselves out of getting all recruits because of this? Toby's proven that he can go back and patch stuff if needed, and I think this should be patched.

Say how obvious it is if you want, but SOUL TRAITS (Patience, kindness, bravery, etc..) were never actually confirmed to be canon until DT chapter 5.

Ever since Undertale's community was created, people have associated the seven human souls with seven respective traits; Patience, Kindness, Justice, Bravery, Integrity, Perseverance, and Determination. They've made OC's, and thought about what trait fit themselves the most.

BUT, Until Chapter 5, the only thing we had to go off of for the Souls having these traits was the Ball Game segment just before Snowdin in Undertale. Completing the game in a certain amount of time gives different descriptions depending on how long it took. They were thought to describe the personalities of the humans before Frisk entered the Underground. One particular description name-drops all of the Soul Traits (except determination) that the fallen human's souls were known by for 10 years until DT Chapter 5 came out, where all of the colored flowers became associated with said traits.

This was debated at one point. I always thought it was canon because of how everyone collectively agreed it was. But now we can say for certain that the Souls are indeed their respective traits.

(A little unrelated, but it can't be a coincidence that we haven't gotten a Patience Soul battle yet, which I believe was Kris' original Soul before the player took them over).

A lot of people seem to think that it is, and i'm pretty close to thinking that too. Although they just kinda say it without really explaining why.

Noelle hides a lot of her stronger feelings, about how she misses being close to Kris, her mother's treatment, her dad's hospitalization, and how much she was affected by Dess leaving. Kris, her childhood friend, randomly began acting like a different person and became distant from her at a time where she really needed them. I mean, I could understand if she wanted to escape it all.

Noelle asks kris to tell her to "grow wings" so they can see the "other side of the lake." Considering what happens afterward, I'm inclined to believe it's a euphemism for dying or passing on.

However I don't think they'll actually be dead in chapter 7 side B. Rather I think they just broke the "game" as it were by going somewhere not within the game's code, and sort of no-clipped into chapter 7? Idk, I think Kris and Noelle still need to be "used up" as per the Sword Route in chapter 3 before either of them die for real, unless I am mistaken, and this scene IS them being used up.

What do you guys think about the weird route lake scene and its implications, and also Noelle's real intentions?

(Edit: so after reading some replies I’ve learned that “allegory” is a better word here than “analogy.”)

I don’t mean the game was bad. I thought the chapter was funny at times, the characters were fun, and it was nice to see Ralsei have some more depth as a character. but the whole time I was playing something just felt really off. It’s kind of hard to put into words.

like, the events of chapter 4 happened just a day prior, and there were some pretty serious implications from them. But the prophecy isn’t addressed again until much later in chapter 5, at the bath scene with Ralsei in the Castle. Just kind of felt like the fun gang brushed it off rather quickly. At times throughout the chapter, I thought, “this isn’t how this character would react to this normally.” Not that I know these characters more than Toby, of course.

The final scene where you walk with Susie to the school was bizarre to me. LIke, Susie, your closest friend‘s dad was just kidnapped, and all you want to think about is Noelle, like you’ve been doing the entire chapter. Almost like she’s forgotten all about everything else.

Maybe it’s because of Toby’s wants for the chapter. He said he wanted one last fun adventure, so I guess that’s what we got
