Looking for Volunteers Outside India to Help Document Issues Affecting Muslims in India
Assalamu Alaikum,
We are a small team/group of independent individuals working on documenting recent developments, incidents, trends, human rights abuses, and other issues affecting Muslims in India.
We are not a professional organisation or a formally registered institution. We are simply a group of Muslims who are interested in this work and want to contribute to documenting what is happening to Muslims across India.
We want to work on documenting current incidents as they happen, as well as collecting, organising, preserving, and republishing information about incidents from the past. We want to make sure that important events, testimonies, reports, and patterns do not simply disappear from public memory.
A major reason behind this, is the limited space for independent reporting in India, particularly on issues concerning Muslims that do not fit the dominant mainstream narrative. Independent journalists and alternative media face various forms of pressure, while misinformation and propaganda can spread widely online.
We want to document these issues and bring them to a wider audience, particularly an international audience. We want these records to remain accessible and part of the public conscience, rather than being forgotten with time.
We are now looking for people outside of india to build a voluntary network of people who are interested in doing similar work.
We are particularly interested in people with experience or interest in journalism, research, documentation, archiving, translation, fact-checking, media, OSINT, or related fields. But you do not necessarily need professional experience. If you genuinely care about this work and have the time and willingness to contribute, we would still be interested in hearing from you.
This is voluntary Act. We are not a paid organisation and we are NOT looking for people seeking paid positions. We are looking for people who want to contribute for the sake of Allah and help document and bring attention to what is happening to Muslims in India.
And if you are not personally interested or able to contribute, but you know someone who might be interested, please feel free to share this post with them. They might have the skills, experience, or interest that could be useful to this work.
