Hi! I am currently a section leader (freshman) at my hs ban—I play trombone in the band but I also do play euphonium! Lately I have been thinking about auditions for next marching season in May. The reason for this is, my band director said there are 3 really good 7th graders and soon to be eighth graders and one is really good, like stealing my chair good. I am a-little stressed about it because I do want to stay a section leader and I like being first chair! Audition wise I to have trouble at sight reading from but I’m decent at scales. I really want to stay first chair and stay a section leader, so is there anything I can do to get a lot better? I do have trouble with 16 notes from time to time, depending on the tempo and I do not know how to double tongue I can only single tongue. Also I have never heard these kids play, this is just what my band director said. Anyway thanks for your time! Any reassurance and advice on getting a lot better is appreciated! 🪊✨

I really want a shalpha mawile for champions (normal shiny will do) but I own a copy of za but I’m not far in the game play. If anyone has the shiny/shalpha mawile I can trade on za or gts on pokemon home. I can give a list if shinys I’ve caught in scarlet or I can hunt for a new one (that can be transferred to za or home). I can do more than one Pokemon for shalpha mawile if needed! (I don’t own any shalphas myself but I do own self caught s/v shiny

I see people on here all the time brag about ranges, but is “double high F” like F4? I saw a 7TH GRADER comment “not to brag but I can play double high F and I’m first chair” -my first thought was, ‘oh they can play up to F4, that’s pretty good for a 7th grader and they are first chair.‘ But then I thought ‘WAIT DID THEY MEAN THEY CAN PLAY F5?!’ Sorry but I just got out of middle school, and I am barely a freshman (in high school), but you mean to tell me that a 7TH GRADER can play higher than (or as high) a lot of college level students?! Sorry that just seems a little absurd to me! Even myself (2nd chair + a section leader) find it difficult to play higher than F4 sometimes. I’m sure that they were just bragging and they probably meant F4. Sorry my brain just can’t rap around it!

Willing to hunt for any shiny pokemon with the exceptions of minior, tandmause, basclin, slowpoke (regular not galarin). Oh also no genned shiny pls only legit shiny for legit shiny!

I shiny hunted litten and embor but it was so late last night i forgot to save so to my surprise this morning I no longer have them. then i see a shiny run across my screen and despawn 😭💔

This problem that has come across and i don’t know what to do. This is the second week of my schools band camp and my section (low brass) and frankly the entire band won’t count their moves or holds out loud even other section leaders, the band director and people that have been marching since eighth grade. (idk if this matters but our band is maybe 40 ppl not counting colorgaurd).

We have a sort of new band director (he was the assistant director last year and has 20 yrs of teaching under his belt).

This is my 2nd year of doing band and I am a brass/woodwind section leader along with a section captain and another section leader (in my section) but there are 10 or 11 sectio leaders and captions total. I’m the youngest out of the section leaders and barley in high school.

After we added a new set to our drill I told my band director out loud in front of everyone on the field “hey I think we need to count”. Well I got laughed at for saying that, and some one said , “Well no shit sherlock”. The band director agreed with me but did nothing about it. I could have worded it better by saying something like “mr. band director we need to count outloud, we are getting off beat.” But I don’t think it would have helped. I could rant about more but we’d be here all day.

Any input or advice would help!

my rage is currently B1 to G4 (on a good day A4 and rarly/sometimes B4). I’m currently working on trying to hit higher notes/ better tone so if anyone has any tips on that, that would be awesome.

I’m already worried that the fact I could have taken it this summer (I’m 14) because I’ve seen people my age and younger, have post on there stories they did drivers ed even though the form said “participants have to be 14 and 1/2” (I wont be 14 1/2 till aug). Im just worried I none of my friends will be there and also I don’t like the coach that is teaching it.

My friend texts (i haven’t talked them til school let out for summer break) me asking “can i borrow a set“ I said sure. I give them sweet the set and I look and their inventory and I tell them “ hey I see you don’t have alot of godlies so you can just keep the set” then they hit me with “Do you want your other stuff too? I’ll take those too 🥹”

I didnt respond till later because that just made me mad and I don’t know why I almost said I take it back but I decided it wasn’t worth it since Im going to see them for the next 2 weeks and when school starts.

Has anyone else felt this before? 😅
