First time, traveled land and sea, and love it here at Tanganyika

Everything here has been amazing. As someone with a little person I can definitely recommend the experience for everyone. Every encounter is close and the animals look happy and healthy. I might be enjoying this more than my little one...

S24 Ultra Was DEAD for 5 Days… Then It Just Turned Back On?!

Storytime.. this should be a great bathroom read midday and hopefully a little cackle as well...

So I’m sitting on the couch one afternoon, minding my business. My S24 Ultra has ~60% battery when suddenly the screen goes FULL BRIGHTNESS, the phone shuts off, and… nothing.

Won’t turn on. Won’t charge. Won’t respond to buttons. Completely dead.

Yes I saw the tricks and forums items about holding the power and the volume down for a reset...still nothing...

I thought I was smarter than all those guys and tied a rubber band around the power and volume dead over night hoping to get anything....and nothing.

I give it two full days before admitting defeat and heading to T-Mobile. Turns out I’m literally ONE payment away from owning the S24 Ultra outright. Fine. I make the last payment, upgrade, and walk out with an S26 Ultra.

For context, the S24 Ultra was in great shape and probably 8/10 cosmetically, always was in a case and never abused.

I thought it had just transitioned to it's next phase of life..

Fast forward to tonight, FIVE DAYS after it died.

I’m sitting at dinner when I glance over and suddenly see the low battery symbol on the S24’s screen.

Excuse me?

I plug it in.

IT TURNS ON.

This phone played dead for five days, waited until I bought its replacement, then basically said, “lol never mind.”

So now I own an S26 Ultra because my S24 Ultra apparently needed a week-long mental health break.

Anyone have any idea what actually happened here?

Has anyone had a Samsung stay completely unresponsive for DAYS and then randomly resurrect itself?

First Picanha - and might be my new favorite cut of steak!

I smoked my first picanha today over mesquite and then seared it at the end and man oh man was it a hit around here! It was a tad overdone, but the flavor was astronomical. Note to self to pull at 135 and sear, then rest, and it lands at a perfect medium !!!

Got lucky and received an upgrade on my order from Espresso Outlet

I was in the lucky group that ordered a df64 and they did not have enough in stock to fulfill all of those orders so they gave some of us an opportunity for a $75 upgrade to the df64 v2. I had convinced myself that the df54 would be more than enough, and it probably is, but I'm already appreciating the upgrade from my Breville in machine grinder to the df64.

Upgrade Recs. from Sen 599se?

So it's been a couple of years and I agree with everything the internet said around the Sennheiser HD 599se being the gateway drug into better music and a more immersive experience. I'm now at a point where I absolutely love listening to these headphones, but I would love something that reaches a little higher and has a little more low end abd im willing willing to spend more. I realized that these have become a part of my daily life since I work from home.

Budget: $750 or less

Sound Signature: I prefer something a little warm with good bass

Use: i listen to music all day while im working from home in my office. Open or closed doesnt matter much

I have a desktop evo audient 4 that I run my hd599se through and it sounds great and Id bet I could power more

I dont prefer on or in ear and want something over ear for comfort reasons

Id this the whole packer it only a flat?

I got this primeCut from Costco today and it is an eight and a half pound brisket that was about $45. I was going to use this to smoke as my first brisket, but want to understand if I'm missing part of the brisket or if this is just a general smaller brisket

My Linjer Is Dying: What's a great BIFL Briefcase So I Only Have to Buy Once more? [budget 1k]

I'm looking for recommendations for a BIFL-quality briefcase to replace my Linjer, which is stunning but unfortunately starting to come apart at the seams after years of use.

My preferences are pretty straightforward:

- Clean, professional design

- Minimal hardware, buckles, straps, or overly rugged styling

- Enough capacity to carry my laptop plus a client-issued laptop when needed or a portable monitor

- More depth than the ultra-slim 2" briefcases that seem popular lately

- High-quality leather and construction

I also tend to gravitate toward oxblood, dark burgundy, or similar colors since they pair well with gray and navy suits as well as lighter tan summer outfits, which are standard for my industry.

Budget is flexible for the right piece if it's truly something that can last for many years. (Maybe topping out at 1200)

I'd appreciate any recommendations, especially from people who have carried theirs daily for a long time. Thanks!
