Also, I like to refer to my thermometers as temperature clocks.

some of the cuts are dry rub only.

some of the cuts have teriyaki sauce.

have fun grilling this season everyone!

Eggs as meal prep in my loyal trusted kitchen sidekick

not much to say. eggs in olive oil with some spice blends and cheese on top.

sliced Hawaiian sweet bread. I’ve toasted the halves of sweetbread before. sooooo tasty.

since the eggs are for sandwiches, over hard. if they were for an omelette, they’d be scrambled, and if they were for corned beef hash, they’d be over easy.

Joe’s House in Millwood

I recently visited an old family friend in Spokane. He grew up there. Anyways he would not shut up about this tiny little hole-in-the-wall restaurant and bar.

it’s called Joe’s House. it’s on Argonne near the railroad tracks. he took me there. it was so great!

the menu’ reminded me of like an 80’s dinner with checkered flags and cassette tapes.

limited food options, but the food is phenomenal. Joe even wore a chef’s hat while preparing food. he acts as the DJ on the record player and has a vast knowledge of music.

there‘s a claw machine in the corner that has prizes geared towards mature adults and it takes you back in time to the arcades of our youth.

the other staff were so friendly and welcoming and each server makes great cocktails. no one knows this, but I work as a secret agent, kinda like a James Bond type. naturally, I had to order a martini. Fantastic!

I hope to visit Spokane again sometime. I’m definitely checking that place out again.

Thanks, Joe!

My second piece of Wagner Ware Sydney -O-

Roast and Bake Pan purchased off eBay. this time I knew what I was buying.

this bad puppy is gonna make so much pizza and lasagna and bread and pot roast.

how do I season this pan? I figured I’d ask the professionals before relying on Dr. Google.

the W looks like Walt Disney. cray cray.

Hotdogs as meal prep

over the weekend, I loaded up the grill with charcoal and wood chips to grill some beef rib steaks. I didn’t want to waste the fuel. so after the steaks were done, I loaded the grill with a package of all beef Hebrew National dogs.

i’ve never used this much charcoal to grill before. the dogs came out excellent. crispy skin on the outside, juicy on the inside.

i didn‘t even use a bun or condiments.

has anyone else tried this method before?

like they said at Hot Doug’s in Chicago, “there‘s no two finer words in the english language than ’encased meats’.”

I drew a Mariners 50th Logo. Thought I’d share.

the green and brown are for getting lost in the woods. yellow for old. blue and northwest green for new.

Watching World Cup games at Slugger’s

I’m contemplating watching some of the World Cup games that are being played at Lumen Field at Slugger’s.

I can’t afford tickets and just want to be apart of the atmosphere of the event and have the ability to walk around the outside of the stadium while games are going on.

How much time before the matches start should I arrive at Slugger’s to make sure I get a seat at the bar?

Help convince me I should buy this!

I’m bad at spending money. $200 is a lot for me to spend to replace a 46 year old grill that still does its job and has a lot of sentimental value to me.

It’s better to get encouragement from enthusiasts than a Weber or Hardware Store Sales Rep!

Should I pull the trigger?

1980 Wood Handle Kettle

my Weber is a hand me down from my dad. it has letter B on the top vent indicating it’s from 1980.

46 years old and still burning charcoal just fine and dandy!!!

woohoo!!!

newer cover. tongs and grill brush are Weber.

my chimney is not, because if I recall when I was buying a chimney, the Weber chimney does not fit under the lid for storage.
