Plates I have seen whilst driving from UK to Slovenia and back

For Kosovo I saw a EULEX Kosovo but not a normal plate. Not in Europe but partially on the map I saw Kazakhstan and Iran. Not in Europe and Not on map I saw USA (Washington State) and Saudi Arabia.

Countries new to me were USA, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Monaco, Montenegro, Kosovo (though EULEX doesn’t really count), Greece, Belarus and San Marino. Unfortunatel, of these, I only managed to get photos of USA, Iran, Greece and EULEX Kosovo.

Countries I have driven through are UK, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Austria, Italy, Slovenia and a day trip to Croatia (where Monaco and Montengro were seen)

Border between Slovenia and Italy at Evropa Trg/Transalpina Plasa

Visited today whilst staying in the area. as a history nerd, the exhibition below the station about the border between Yugoslavia and Italy was really interesting.

Quite soon after the town of Gorizia/Gorica was divided by the treaty of Paris in 1947, locals were given visas that allowed them to cross the border. this allowed for the communities to stay connected despite the political divide. A wire fence and wall was also built through the middle of the square, the station and industrial parts of the town belonging to Yugoslavia whilst the historic centre of the town belonged to Italy. This wall remained in place until 2004 when it was remained after Slovenia joined the EU. However, people crossing the border in the square still had to return to the country they had come from and cross the border at an official crossing 100m south until Slovenia joined the Schengen zone in 2007, allowing freedom of movement between the countries. In 2020, during the COVID-19 a fence was erected in the square, prevent people from crossing the border entirely. These travel restrictions, which were imposed throughout Europe and the Schengen Zone were arguably more limiting than the ones from the Cold War as not even people living in the former 10 kilometre “buffer zone” could cross.

Best things to do on a day trip

So I’ve driven to Slovenia from England as a tourist and am staying over in the direction of Nova Gorica. We want to go to Ljubljana for a day trip on Thursday and I was wondering what the best things to do are in the city. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Also, is there any easily accessible parking in the city and what’s traffic normally like around 10am?

Washington state, USA seen in Petrovo Brda, Slovenia

After some quick googling, it seems to be the 1988 base, which matches with the 96 sticker as this format changed in 1998. as long as this is genuine, this is a great spot for the middle of the Slovenian Alps

Best free thing to use to create an app?

i wanna make an app or web app whilst I have free time atm for my super nerdy hobby of numberplates. I want to be able to keep track of numberplates of my collection by ticking off countries and regions as well as uploading my photos to my personal database. I have almost no coding experience so ideally something where coding isn’t required (but I can also learn some coding if needed). it also needs to be free bcs I’m a broke teenager.

thanks for any help u can offer. also if this is the wrong sub for this sort of thing, can someone point me in the right direction?

IR Iran with both Latin and Persian plates spotted today in Vipava, Slovenia

It was heading toward Ljubljana incase anyone over that direction wants to keep a look out.

Probably my most insane spot ever, similar level to South Korea in Dublin. Possibly even rarer.

what is a reasonable amount of upkeep to have for my army per turn at 9 settlements?

Im currently at 15k per turn but need to increase my army size to deal with Spain, gaul and Britain who are taking it in turn to besiege narbo martius and massilia. I have enough to hold them off but not to push them away from the cities
