No word on the victim’s condition but can’t have been good. Unfortunately it’s very common over there to not wear full face helmets, instead wearing basically pot helmets that do F all in case of a crash like this and only satisfy the legal requirement of wearing a helmet when riding.

Having passengers walk straight into traffic getting into and out of a bus is peak 🥴🥴 road design. Not to mention the genius riding with 2 kids and no helmet.

Living in Asia we don’t really get any Marriott CC’s so getting status without shortcuts the hard way. In China now for a work trip and seeing a St. Regis for $150 a night is unheard of back home. Good to know with these prices doing an end of year mattress run is still affordable.

A while ago I posted about finding a brand new pre-LVMH 32” Titanium Topas Check-in from a local Rimowa hoarder who was thinning out his collection. He messaged me the other day saying he had found a NOS Topas Titanium Sport Trunk he was looking to sell. This is basically the predecessor to the current Original Trunk Plus which for some reason isn’t even available in titanium anymore. So a very useful size and nice addition to my ever growing Pre-LVMH collection. I love that the old titanium color is also a bit darker compared to the one they use now. I forgot how much material you got back in the day when buying a Rimowa; dust bags, multiple branded garment bags, leather tag, stickers etc etc.

I reckon he got a good 30ft of air distance!

Recently had the frame aligned and some major dents removed. Unfortunately after almost 15 years the aluminum started cracking a bit around the telescopic handle and the only repair Rimowa offered was to glue it which isn’t a long term solution. Took it to a local luggage repair shop who used fiberglass and epoxy to stabilize and fix the cracks from the inside. She’s been good for the last 10 flights. Here’s to hopefully a few more years of use. I have her replacement ready as I found a NOS 32” (discontinued size) titanium Topas recently.

Travel comfort doesn’t get much better than this.

Normally I’m more into muted colours but when I saw this in the store I just HAD to have it. 1 year later and I still can’t get enough of it.

Really wish Rimowa would bring back the 2 wheeled bags.

Going through the local classifieds I came across an ad from a Rimowa hoarder who was selling off his collection. Went over and saw a storage room full of all pre-LVMH goodness. Unfortunately what he had left were mostly E-tags, not my favourite but beggars can’t be choosers. Got this NOS 32”/98L (discontinued size) Titanium Topas off him. I forgot just how much you used to get when you bought a Rimowa. Full size garment bag that can double as a flex divider, 2 shoe bags, 2 dust bags, leather (I think) tag, sticker set, a full set of manuals not some QR nonsense and of course the best feature of them all; the add-a-bag holder. Shame they did away with all that and somehow managed to charge more in recent years.

Don’t always travel so heavy but once in a while if I need to, it’s good to know my old Rimowa’s are stackable/hang-able and I’m not juggling multiple bags around.

I’ll never forgive Rimowa for deleting the add a bag holder. Being able to have one hand free and pull 2 bags along at the same time came in handy way too often.

My colleague today had the exact opposite setup to me. If only my old Rimowa Pilot case would sit properly atop a Cabin!

No covers, just stickers. Just got my Topas back from having its frame aligned and a fresh set of wheels (sadly lost the old pre LVMH wheel design). She’s hopefully ready for another 15 years of travel 🤞

Anyone else’s BSH loves going on car rides? Boris can stay in this position for miles just watching the scenery go by 😅
