I recently took my car (2008 Acura MDX) to the mechanic for general maintenance. He strongly recommended that I have the blinker fluid changed for an additional $200 ($80 parts, $120 labor) or else it could overload my battery and make it explode. I had him to do it and now a few days later my turn signal sometimes sounds like a taser and isn't actually blinking when that happens. Did he use the right fluid? Are there different types of blinker fluid? Is my battery gonna overload and explode? Did I get scammed? Should I take it back to him or go somewhere else? I feel bad going to a different mechanic because he's my wife's boyfriend. I really need advice!
