Is this worth it for a 2015 Nissan Altima Transmission replacement?

I’m no car expert, the mechanic said all their parts are oem and they had alot of good reviews but I’m concerned about the 1 year warranty since CVT transmission are notoriously bad. Some of the big name shops and Nissan themselves quoted me at over $9,000 for a new transmission and $7,000 for reman so I was just wondering if someone with more knowledge than me thinks this is a worth it. Current Altima is at 99,000 miles no issues other than this transmisson thing

mechanic said I need a new transmission but his co worker said yesterday there was likely no major issue

I have a 2015 Nissan Altima, the check engine light came up Iast Saturday when I left my house.

There was no noises or any sign of anything wrong I drove 100+ miles that weekend and came home. this week I went work everyday 30+ mile drive every day

Yesterday I had time to go get the light checked out he checked my car without pulling codes because you have to have an appointment to pull codes but he did said the light isn’t for anything serious which was reliving but said I need to come back tommrow to get it throughly checked.

So I came back today and a different mechanic at the same shop said I need a new transmission and basically my car is done.

Im dumbfounded obviously this guy knows more than me but with 0 signs, one of his co workers also saying the issue won’t be major yesterday and the fact I have driven it for probably 500+ miles since the light came on and still 0 signs of anything I don’t know what to do.

Should I just get it fixed asap or should I go to a Nissan dealer or get another opinion because it’s quoted at $6,800 to fix which I cannot afford. Especially after I was under the assumption the issues was minor.

What’s the obsession with young players?

I’ve seen so many posts and people saying. We need to move on from alot of the current USMNT and replace them with a new gen of young players.

Except no young players are even close to good enough yet. I’ve seen people say Gozo, Mehemti, Sullivan, Pierre, etc should all get called up. My question is why?, all those guys are unproven. Pierre has started what 3 games, Sullivan, Gozo, Mehemti haven’t done anything worthy of a call up or proved they are better than anyone on the current USMNT roster.

Again all these kids have potential and may become good enough but all the current usmnt players everyone thought played bad, weah, Pulisic, Dest, etc were all starting in European top leuages for top teams when they were 17/18 so why would anyone believe these mls talents like Gozo have any chance of being better than a weah for example? For gods sake Dest was starting for Barcelona when he was what 19/20.

I want younger players to do well but the reality is none of these players are good enough to make the roster and it’s concerning how many people genuinely believe those youngsters are better than what we have. If we are going to give people chances it has to be players like Busio or give musah another chance 🤷🏿

What to do as a freshman accounting major wanting the possibility of working in wealth management or finical advising

Currently I’m an accounting major going into my freshman year. In high school I was a part of a program that during school I was able to work with people in the finance banking and investment fields during the school day and it would count as credits. So i did numerous presentations giving advice to people in real situations and was job shadowed a lot of wealth managers, financial advisors and accountants. And eventually realized I loved the person aspect of this industry

I eventually want the possibility of maybe later on working in wealth management or as a finical advisor even as an accounting major but I’m currently undecided between exactly I want to do I just know it’s in these fields.

What should I do? Should I minor in finance, switch to finance major with accounting minor, or just keep accounting?

Any advice or opinions are appreciated!

Why have my shoulders and chest regressed in the last 4 months, please help

I’m 18, 5’8 133lb, I’ve been lifting for like a year and a half. 4 months ago i was doing 90x6 on dumbbell bench and 70x6 on dumbell shoulder press, for the last 3 and a half months I’ve been stuck at 85x8 on dumbell bench and 65x6 on shoulder press.

Every other muscle has improved except those two, my legs have improved tremendously and my biceps, triceps, back have improved almost every session

I genuinely don’t know what’s wrong, my external factors are way better now back then I was getting 6 hours of sleep and lifting at 9pm because I worked after school. Now I get more sleep and workout at a better time, my only guess is maybe I’m fatigued,

I’ve been lifting 6 days a week for the last 8 months. But then again every other body part has improved except those two. Any advice is appreciated!

When did ABS start getting used in youth baseball?

I’m 17 and ump with my friends for some extra money $55-$75 a game currently. I recently got an email that this Saturday we will be doing 4 12u games which is normal but they also mentioned an ABS system will be used so we won’t call any balls or strikes it’s done by this thing called ump assist by a company called Musco. Why is an abs system necessary for regular 12u travel ball? And when was this type of tech introduced? I don’t have any strong opinions on it and don’t know what to expect, what are your opinions on this?

What is the point of the 105 man roster limit?

Why are roster limits a thing? I genuinely can’t think of a single benefit. Every college that is opted into revenue sharing has to abide by the 105 roster limit and that’s every d1 team. Teams went from having 130-140+ players on their rosters just a few years ago to now only 105. I know they now get 105 scholarships but no school uses all 105, I have friends that play at multiple different p4 schools and none of those schools use over 85 scholarships the rest are PWOs or walk ons. So the only thing that came from this limit is every team had to cut 30-40 walk ons. How is this beneficial, teams lose a lot of practice bodies and the art of the walk on is essentially dead. And teams also cut players at an alarming rate every p4 school that I know either cuts or forces a decent amount of players to transfer to make room for transfers, before roster limits these players would not get cut. So again my main question is what was the purpose for all sports have roster limits with revenue sharing.

USL 2 or Internship for a d1 soccer player?

Next year I will be a freshman at low level d1 school, I love soccer and want to play as much as I can. But I am currently a finance intern at a big company this summer it was a very competitive spot and I’ve been offered a return spot next year. I have to accept this position by July 31st if I want to have it next summer. I know i probably won’t go pro so I want to set myself up for the best life I can. So my question is would you recommend playing Usl 2 or taking this internship and working out? Obviously I will talk to coaches and people close too me before deciding just wanted to see other’s opinions.

Can I lose scholarship money for getting a D last semester senior year of hs?

Long story short, it’s absolutely my fault in a really easy filler class I didn’t know senior grades were final two days before school ended so I turned everything in late on the last day and it couldn’t be accepted, so I got a D, I got all As in my other Aps and dual enrollment classes. I am going to a public regular state school and I received and have already accepted 3 scholarships directly from my university’s scholarship portal that add up to 95% of my tuition, is it possible I lose any of this because of that bad grade or an I still fine?

Do scholarships affect Subsidized loan and work study avalibilty???

Before I had roughly 20% tuition scholarship with $3,500 work study, I recently got it bumped all the way up to 95% tuition scholarship and now I’m completely ineligible for work study $0 and I went from $2,200 subsidized loans to now only $200. Again I don’t plan on taking loans anymore this year and don’t really know anything about work study, so this doesn’t really affect me, but I thought all that was based on Fafsa only and nothing else so if figured I would ask.

Can a D in last term of senior year affect the scholarship money I already accepted.

Long story short, Completely my fault in a really easy class I got a D, all other classes were As including Aps and dual enrollment. I got multiple scholarships that add up to over 70% of my tuition from Iowa state, my gpa is still a 3.7. Will this affect anything or am I worrying too much? I already sent my thank you letters for scholarships, accepted everything. Again I know it’s my fault just asking.

I’m currently a hs senior going to be a freshman at isu

How long does it take to get back strength lost when sick?

I had the cold pretty rough for 3 days, so I didn’t lift for 4 days. Before the cold I usually woke up around 136lb in the morning now I weigh 132lb. So I only lost about 3-4lbs. Today was the first dayI felt and ate normal so I lifted, usually I do 90lbs for 6-8 reps on dumbell bench the whole week before I got sick it was slowly decreasing I don’t know why but, today I only could do, 85lb for 5 and 70lbs for 7 the next set. I only lost 3-4lbs but I look so much smaller in the mirror and have way less veins showing than normal. It feels like work out the window, How long until I return back to my old form?

Be brutally honest is it possible for me to walk on d1.

I Can answer specific questions in this thread. but Long story short, I went to a top 15 Nationally ranked hs football team in the country I played every game but didn’t start or produce a lot. I’m 5’9 165lbs and athletically I’m up there with d1 receivers 35+ inch vert and sub 4.65 40 for context every guy above me on the depth chart went d1. Obviously the big obstacle is size and roster limits. I am attending a very bad power 4 school as a student because I got significant merit based aid and it’s a good school for my major. I know as a walk on you won’t really play or anything I just want to be apart of a team again. Is it worth it for me to still train regularly to hopefully get a spring tryout next spring or should I just let it go? And again I know it’s way harder to walk on now compared to before because of roster limits. If it matters 3 if my former hs teammates and friends play for this school and many more where offered and recruited, I actually went on a visit there but that was with the old coaching staff. Any advice is appreciated

Im 17 and have been lifting for roughly a year. I have been stuck at 90lbs for 5-6 reps on dumbbell bench for over a month and a half. I only went up to 90lbs after I did 80lbs for 9 reps for multiple sessions. I have been doing the exact same workout routine for the last couple months. The only other issues I can think of is my weight, I haven’t gained any weight in the last two months I have been fluctuating between 134-137lbs the whole time. Any advice helps

Me and my roommate were disagreeing on whether or not to have a dorm with AC. I think it’s not a big deal and would rather save money but he thinks it’s absolutely necessary. Any current or former Iowa State students, do you think it’s necessary?
