Had the 101Bike and the battery went bad. They zero replacements for 30-45 days. They suggested I wait, or return the bike to Costco where it was purchased at.
The bike in the photos is the make and model but not her bike. She picked one that was further back in the row, so she knew it hadn’t been used as one to sit on.
I will be adding pink pedals, pink handle bar grips, pink princess crown valve caps, and pink spoke covers. All the items she had on her other bike.
Got the bike from a local dealer so getting any issues fixed will be easy.
I have a lot of tackle already, however I am starting to hone in more specific styles and patterns. The “Urchin” lure which is called the Shak’em Up from this maker (SkinnyBear Bass Jigs) is only $9.99 so I decided to grab some. They were local guys to the CA Central Valley, but moved to Texas in 2021 is what the website says.
Anyway, time to put it to use!
Edit: thank you everyone for the responses and answers. I read all the comments. They are helpful.
When did this BFS become a thing? I have always used 6lbs line and 2.5” jigs or smaller for bass depending on where I am at. Always used a spinning rod as well.
What’s with this “new style” of BFS? Is just because of the bait caster being used for it now? What truly makes something a finesse rig for bass?
Just a question. I have bait casters(swim bait, jerks, cranks).
Rod: Okuma SST 8’6” Med Pwr Med Act
1/4oz-5/8oz lure wt
Reel: Okuma Ceymar C-2500A 7+1BB 5.0:1 Gear Ratio
I got this setup to handle bigger jointed lures and jigs for trophy brown hunting here in Nor Cal. I fish from the bank/shore. I have a couple favorite spots I like but never pulled a monster brown or bow from these spots yet, however my dad and friends have.
I plan on running 15lbs braid to 8lbs clear copolymer.
Yes, I know light tackle works as well, but I am targeting monsters. Let the hunting(fishing) begin!
Total cost $182
Rod was on sale for $109.99 + tax
Reel was $69.99 + tax
Got a solid 4-5 hours on the water today with my KastKing telescopic rod. It held up great hiking through some thick bush. Very easy and quick to extend/collapse. Guides take just a little fine tuning(some are free sliding/lock in place).
The action is amazing. I felt everything. I have 15lbs braid with a 4lbs PLine trout line topper(very long leader) brought together with a beautiful double Alberto knot.
The big lures handled just as good as the small guys. Not very big fish, yet. They will come on this rod soon enough. I am just glad to know it is a solid rod for the backpack.
I would buy again.
Took out the Temu urchins today and I enjoyed them even though I missed a few bites on the red.
Any well super durable and look and feel great in the water.
Decided to pull the trigger on some Temu products. Everything feels and looks really solid! Going out after the weekend to try these out. Really looking forward to the smaller urchins, because there is a spot I know the bass have never seen these at all and I know the UL size will get them going.
Also curious how the trout in the upper Sierra rivers will react. I am thinking the red should mimic a craw floating downstream or bouncing along the bottom.
I will post results next week.
TL;DR
“Bamboo” rod? Need ID. Over 75yrs old?
Thanks in advance.
My dad gifted me a “bamboo” fly rod. He got it from a friend of ours who said he got it from his dad when he was a kid. The guy is about 80-85 years old now. He has stories about this rod and my dad even asked him if it was okay to gift to me, because I will either get it refurbished and display it or display it as is.
I will swear by these holographic gold and red flakes Panther Martin. Only fished them a handful of times but they are producing like crazy the high Sierra trout and bass.
Anyone else locally or internationally enjoying these holographic lures?
2ea 1/32, 4ea 1/16, 2ea 1/8, 1ea 1/4 of a different color because they didn’t have the gold in 1/4.
All times are Pacific Standard Time
Me personally, I use it. My dad taught me how important it is to fishing. Not just inland, like rivers and lakes, but also the coast and offshore. I am no expert, I look it up, but I do use it.
And yes it does work for me!
Reel: SixGill Aether Spinning 2000
Rod: SixGill Creature Spinning 5’6” UL
Lure: Roostertail (Chartreuse Black Tiger)
First time using the Aether and Creature as a combo! Had the Creature rod for over a decade now and never paired it up. Got serious about making better setups.
Only one bass today but it is better than no bass!
I was wrong. I am sorry for making a post and then not being fully informed myself.
Not above admitting I was wrong. I did a lot more research and my bike is a Class 3 e-bike. There are some gray areas that I may or may not fall into. I will deal with those when I get to them (if they ever even happen).
Happy riding.
I am so pumped!! This is the largest bass I have caught!! The one time I did not bring my scale along. My last PB was 2.24lbs, so I am going out on a limb and saying this girl comes in at 2.25lbs baby!!!
Caught on 65lbs braid! Clean and healthy release captured on video as well.
I do not recall the name on the pot when I got this rose last year. Anyone know? Thanks in advance.
I now have a dedicated UL jigs only setup! Super stoked to add this to my collection of gear specific setups. Tight lines all!!
I am going to be hunting giant striper on the Sac and Feather (California) as part of my new fishing adventures!! I want big!! I will swing for the fence a million times and strikeout but all I need is that one million and one BABY!!!
I know some of you have big lures and catch monsters in your part of the world!! Let’s see some BIG ASS LURES that caught some BIG ASS FISH!!!
TL;DR Update of my fellas!!
Here are my 3 bettas Apollo, Zeus and Poseidon!! They have come a long way with me and I am so glad I invested time and research in to these fish!!
As you can see I have upgraded their tanks and they have never been happier!! Also switched their diet to Freeze Dried Bloodworms and I am so lucky that they all love them so much!!
I have added moss and silk plants to help create more natural hiding, resting, and potential bubble nest spots!!
Thank you all for the ongoing support and help with my fellas!!
Went and picked up this 4pc 5’6” Eagle Claw travel rod and 500 Pflueger reel with 4lb line at BassPro Shop this morning! Needed a rod to fit in my pack to go out on the e bike with!!
Hit up Folsom Lake just for a quick test run with the rod and reel!! I threw a whopper plopper, swim jig, and crank.
Looking forward to hitting some logging trails up in the sierras and throwing some trout lures and bait as well!!
