Just let it go, man

Brother, just let it go. Rec Room is dead.

I've seen people in this subreddit trying to cope, or just straight-up being delusional about the game coming back, pointing at whatever sign they can that it will.

Just accept that the game is gone

I know this might seem overly negative, but it's true. The game's gone.

Also, I'm not saying that revivals shouldn't exist or shouldn't talk about the game anymore. That's not what I'm saying at all—that's a completely different subject.

I just want to point out the posts that I've been seeing of people thinking that the game is coming back.

YouTube needs a competitor

I cannot say this enough: YouTube actually needs a competitor. The changes they have been making recently are genuinely horrible.

Not only are they making it harder for small creators to make money, but they have also been on a streak of bad decisions recently. While it is good that they are cracking down on you know what Creators have also been getting unfairly copyright-striked for apparently no reason at all.

And not to mention the ads—they are genuinely horrible. You could get a possibly 12-hour-long ad on YouTube because they added a feature where creators can now post their videos as ads.

Also, not to mention that they keep introducing new subscription costs and tiers. It's like, what more do you want?

I'm not saying for you to go out and make a competitor. I'm just sharing my thoughts on why this needs to happen.

Any anime app recommendations?

So basically, I'm looking for an alternative to Anilab after it stopped working.

I'm just looking for recommendations now, and please don't give me any add-on bullshit like Dantotsu or Cloudstream. I find apps that have or require add-ons to be the best. Also Wapp Isn't working at the moment.

[Hobby] Building a game engine: Quick2D

Hello everyone,

I am working on building a game engine called Quick2D. It is built for fast development and simplicity, so you don't have to go through the hassle of something like Unity or Godot.

I have already gotten a few things done, such as the scene management and the rendering. However, I realized that I need a bigger team in order to complete this. I am looking for the following people:

  1. Engine programmers

  2. Graphic programmers

  3. UI/tool developers

  4. People who can document

  5. Testers

Your work will be greatly appreciated and this project is open source. Here is the GitHub link: https://github.com/QOcpov/Quick2D/tree/main

Also, if you're interested, please do DM me

I'm kind of inexperienced with this stuff, but I'm sure I can handle it, at least.

[Hobby] Rec Room Preservation

Hello, everybody.

I've come here to say something about one of my favorite online games. It's called Rec Room, and it's shutting down June 1st. I wanted to come here to say that we need help trying to preserve the game and save it before it shuts down by creating a private server for it.

If you're a programmer or someone who can help, we would be happy to have you on the team.

The goal here is to create a private server for the game before it shuts down. So, if you have experience with things like Wireshark or programming in a server, please DM me if you are interested in joining.
