Opinions of this contract?

Good day everyone.

I just need a sign from you guys. I just started this new contract where it pays $2500/wk in the east coast. However, I would say it’s too much even for a seasoned OT like me.

Right now, an average day for me is 4-5 evals and 5-7 treatments. I only get 30 mins of documentation time, and I co-sign around 50+ notes everyday. I am the only OT so all the recerts and discharges are on me. Today I was told that evaluating OTs are the ones responsible for providing a wheelchair to the patients (assembling and looking for parts). Which I haven’t really done so since I don’t have time and I refuse to work off the clock.

What are you thoughts on this assignment? Is this something you guys would quit right away or endure til the end of contract? I already informed my recruiter about this.

OT SNF job caseload

I just started a SNF job last week and today, I had 4 evals, 7 treatments, and I co-sign 30+ treatment notes daily. All in an 8 hour day.

Do I have the right to complain or is this normal for SNFs?

Best banh mi and mission style burritos in NYC?

Hey everyone. I recently moved to NYC from the bay and was wondering what’s the best spot to get affordable banh mis and mission style burritos. I’m open to traveling to the boroughs if it smacks.

How do car-free people shop Costco in NYC?

Hello,

I am moving back to NYC soon and I’m a big fan of costco due to cheaper prices. I would be leaving my car out of state so I will be using the subway.

What are your hacks to shop wholesale? As of now, I’m thinking of just getting a granny cart then possibly push it all the way to the subway then go home. But if there’s an inexpensive alternative to do it, please let me know. Ty

Closest location to me is in Sunset Park, BK.

Physical OMNY pass vs Apple Wallet

Good day everyone,

I’m moving back to NYC soon and was wondering which would be the better option for transit. I’ve always bought the $120 unlimited monthly Metrocard back in the day but I heard they’re phased out now.

I prefer a hassle free and less mental friction option and be able to track how many rides I’ve made to hit the 12 ride cap for free rides so there are no guessing games. I have multiple credit cards so I can designate one specifically for transit if this would be the better option.

What do you guys think and what do you guys use? Any advice on what works best for you all? Thanks 🙏

Question on onetokyo virtual runs

Hello everyone. It’s my first time participating in a onetokyo/ TMF virtual run and I’m hoping someone can help me out.

I recently ran a marathon in California on July 26 and logged it using Strava. I exported the gpx file from strava and manually uploaded it to ASICS Runkeeper. The run is showing up fine on my Runkeeper profile, and my Runkeeper account was already synced to my ONE TOKYO event profile well before July 26th.

I’m wondering if this is normal:
- i haven’t received any confirmation email or notification from ONE TOKYO stating that the virtual run challenge was completed.
- when I search the official results/rankings page by my name or Entry ID, nothing comes up.

Should I go ahead and run another half marathon and track it directly using the Runkeeper app instead of strava on my phone to make sure it properly logs before the event window closes?

And if anyone knows if there’s a way to contact them, can you provide me an email. I couldn’t find anything on the website. Ty

All-access in NYC worth it?

Hello everyone. Sorry if this has been asked before, but is all-access in NYC worth it?

I’m currently a member in Berkeley and moving to NYC soon. Since there’s a lot of locations in NYC, do you think it’s worth to have the all-access pass for $100 more per month? I will live and work in Brooklyn so I think one location would suffice, but I’m also thinking about how nice it is having a bathroom, shower and locker access throughout the city if I have all access.

What do you guys think?

First Hyrox

Hello, hope everyone is having a great day.

I’m sorry if this has been asked multiple times. I’m considering signing up for my first HYROX on Feb 2027 (singles open) and want to get some perspective from you guys who have made a similar transition.

My background of current fitness:
- I’ve ran multiple marathons in the 3:50-4:10 range, half marathon on the 1:50-2:00
- Lifting casually 3-4x a week
- HIIT classes every 2 weeks

I feel like I have a decent foundation but I know HYROX is a different type of hard activity. I don’t plan to PR I just want to finish and have fun. Questions for the community:

- how hard is it to transition from distance running to hyrox training?
- what are things you wish you knew before your first race? any specifics on pacing, gear, or training structure?

Switching race day shoes

Hello, hope everyone is doing great.

I’ve been running in the asics metaspeed sky tokyo, but they are just too narrow for my feet. I’ve been getting brutal arch blisters unless I double sock and use leukotape.

I’m looking to switch and tried on the new balance supercomp trainer and the saucony endorphin elite in-store. Both felt way more comfortable and spacious on my feet, but I couldn't take them for a fast run.

For anyone who has run in these, how do they hold up on long runs? Which one would you go with?
Appreciate the input 🙏

Taper tantrums

Hello everyone,

I’m currently around 2 weeks out from the SF marathon, and the taper mind games are hitting hard.

My training went well. I can hit a 9:00/mile pace on my 20-22 mile long runs for three consecutive weekends and also had no problems with my midweek quality sessions.

But now that I'm tapering, my legs feel like total concrete. I went out for short runs this week (under 5 miles) and struggled to maintain a 10:30/mile pace. My legs and calves felt heavy and sore and it felt way harder than it should have.

I know "taper tantrums" are a thing, but did anyone else feel like they completely lost their fitness right before the race? Do your legs actually bounce back and feel fresh on race day, or should I be worried?

Appreciate any reassurance or reality checks :)
