Hit my third deer this weekend. Two have been within the last 5 years.

I hear there’s less hunters than in the past. Yet my neighbors keep leaving food for them.

How bad is it by you?

Hey, so I’m a bit concerned about the winter. Has anyone installed a woodstove in their basement? Mine’s partially finished and good enough to live in. I have superior walls in my basement if that makes a difference. And I have lots of wood on my property. House is forced air with natural gas, with a natural gas fireplace on the main floor. Just exploring my options.

I mean, it is, but who remembers the comic that lead to the Simpsons?

I’m one township off, but I deliver the zip code of my school district and I think it’s a perk of the job. I have a better sense of what’s going on and learn a little more about the people around me. Best thing is I know where all of my teenager’s friends live, lol.

Thoughts, experiences?

Maybe it’s a mid-life crisis, but does anyone else feel like life, pop-culture, fashion, music, etc is bland right now?

I’m a nice mom. Let my kid take my car today because it has ac and it’s 90 degrees.

So I’m driving his no-ac beater home (18 year old car - older than my son is - with 320k on it, no I’m not fixing the ac - I just hope it starts tomorrow), windows down, Bluetooth on. Hit the freeway and the go gos come on followed by men at work. Volume went up! Took me right back, in the best way.

My aunt, who has passed along with her husband with no children, is set to receive a legal settlement. My aunt had 3 siblings, 2 of which have also passed, that had children. My thoughts were to settle the proceeds as 1/3 to each of my aunts siblings that have kids. But I forgot about my late uncle’s wife. This uncle had 2 children from a previous marriage. Does his share go to her fully, is it a 50/50 thing? Or something different?

The widow is in Arizona, my late uncles kids are in different western states. All other beneficiaries are in Michigan. The payout is due to a class action lawsuit.

I’m two post offices removed from my home address. What are the odds? Has it ever happened to you?

Just putting this out there, as I just saw a FB post from a 51 year old mom that is looking for any work she can get because her husband recently passed and she is trying not to lose her house.

I’m just like her - 50, my husband passed a few months ago, and I have 2 kids in college and one still in high school. I became a stay at home mom after my second of three kids was born.

The difference is that I made my husband go to a financial planner with me after my youngest was born. I knew I wouldn’t be able to finish my degree as a SAHM, and my husband became a high earner. We got a term life insurance plan for him in our early 30s for 3.5 million, later reduced to 2 mil as the kids got older. The plan cost $130 per month. I never thought I would have to claim it. We were making plans for an empty nest and figuring out how to best enjoy this next stage in our lives.

So now I’m crying for this poor woman that’s doing everything she can to not lose her house, while I’m able to keep our nice standard of living and get all of my kids through college debt-free. We’re going overseas for vacation in a month.

If we hadn’t done that one thing, I would be that woman on FB trying to keep everything together while grieving my husband. I can’t stop thinking about her.

My FIL said he played for St Albans - I’m assuming in the 1950s/1960s? He was born in 1937 in Luton. Currently residing in Florida - he’s 89 now and is quite tight-lipped about his past. My husband passed a few months ago and I guess I’m looking for info about the club for my kids. Seems like a cool bit of family history, if I can get more info.

I’d like to thank my local paper for deciding that everyone on my route got a free Sunday paper today! 25 papers per bundle. Topped with 2.5 times the dps I usually get on a Saturday, and about double the packages. At least flats were normal. I was over eval today.

How was it for you?

Hoping someone can help because I’d like to diy this, but not exactly sure what I’m doing.

The steering drag link in one side of my ultimata ZT2 keeps coming out. The other side is loose. Mower is about 6 years old.

I keep finding things on the internet that it could be a tie rod and/or a bearing, but I’m having trouble finding any zt specific info.

Any suggestions?

My husband passed at the end of February this year. I am continuing his employer health insurance through COBRA.

We had met our plan deductible before he passed. Now the COBRA plan is requiring that the deductible be met again. That doesn’t seem right to me.

Can COBRA collect the deductible again after we had already met it before he passed?

I currently have an 8 year old Samsung clothes dryer. It’s been serviced once during COVID when the door seal fell off. It has decided to stop drying. It starts to heat up, then stops. I have cleaned the lint out of the exhaust vent (no buildup), the exhaust pipe (no buildup), and double checked if there’s any lint I’ve missed in the trap (there wasn’t any - I clean it after every cycle). I freaking hate Samsung (horrible experience with a refrigerator too) and now, any smart appliance. I just want a dryer with on and off, high, medium, low heat settings, and a timer.

At my last house, I had a kitchen aid dryer from the early 90s. Fixed it myself when it needed a new belt. Thing was a 30 year old workhorse and never stopped.

I don’t need a moisture sensor. I don’t need a happy Beethoven tune to announce my clothes are dry. Nobody cares about wrinkles anymore. If they do, I have an iron that is dumb, and I appreciate that. Please, for the love of god, no wifi.

I would be more than happy to feed it quarters as long as it just freaking dries my clothes.

I have natural gas. Please send any suggestions for the most dumb dryer currently being produced.
