2012 Prius engine troubles

2012 Prius V

Hey guys. Prius head gasket took a big stinky dump and coolant hydrolocked my pistons. Bent rods. Basically worst case scenario except locking up on the highway.

I sent it to the mechanic for head gasket and head machining. They found the beat up cylinder/piston/rod. It was $6700 but now they are suggesting a short block replacement for $9400. 7yr/77k mile warranty on everything if I go ahead. 167k miles.

Trying to decide giving the go ahead on the work or going car shopping. I'm in a borrowed car for a bit, but I want to figure this prius out to move on.

I'm leaning towards repairing it, but any advice or thoughts here would be nice.
