Close relative passed and my brother is driving up from the Cleburne area to meet me for dinner on Wednesday. We will discuss the funeral and the estate. I’m in Flower Mound area and I’ll drive in his direction to meet him, somewhere kinda halfway.

So, looking for a nice restaurant for dinner that is quiet and conducive to a serious conversation, without loud music or crowds. Probably somewhere in Ft. Worth (driving between Cleburne and Flower Mound).

Note - he’s 6’4 and has a booming, football coach voice (genes I didn’t inherit). So it can’t be like a museum setting. He’ll scare the cook! So, nice and quiet, but not museum quiet. Thanks.

Family member bought a 2022 Kia Carnival EX. When driving down the road, the dashboard beeps, warning her if she is drifting out of her lane. The steering wheel pulls her back. However, there is no light flashing on the corresponding side mirror or inside the car. It is just the beep and the steering wheel pull. Is this normal?

Further, when a car approaches on her left or right, the triangle with the exclamation point on the side mirrors aren’t lighting up to warn her a vehicle is nearby. Is this normal in a ‘22 EX? There’s no warning indicator a car is in her blind spot?

If not, then what does the triangle with the exclamation point signify? When does it light up?

EDIT: it’s 12:30pm. We’ve done the Katy Trail at Knox Street, driven through Highland Park, then Shug’s Bagels. After that, Snider Plaza but JD Chippery closed. Then Lakeside Park. Then, lower Greenville, Goodwyn’s for lunch - fantastic! Now, Northpark Mall. 😀 What next????

We live up near Denton, but are coming down to do Sunday in Highland Park and Dallas. We are in our 50’s and my wife doesn’t drink. She wants to do some shopping and get a nice lunch. Our vibe is Luke’s Locker and those crazy good bagels next door, The German deli in Snyder Plaza, a drive to see the mansions on Beverly and maybe people watching outside the Honor Bar in Highland Village. What are other some fun spots with this vibe in mind? We want to stay north of the Trinity this time. Love some recommendations! Thanks.

PS - what’s the best one mile walk for people gazing at 10am Sunday on the Katy Trail?

Just finished Adrift. Loved the writing, the immersive story telling and Vulcan Tizzehook’s sound editing. Something similar?

Boom! Boom!

I mowed my yard and filled my otherwise-empty blue garbage can with the grass clippings. It was a lot - pretty darn heavy - but the lid closed just fine. This certainly isn’t the first time I’ve done this although I will admit - I smashed that grass down multiple times to fit more. Very heavy, but neat and with the lid fully closed. Also, nothing in the bin but grass clippings.

Put it in the curb on trash day, went to work. Came home that evening and it was gone. The entire bin. Looked all around and asked some neighbours. Nobody saw it or took it.

My theory is that I made the can too heavy and they confiscated it? Where the heck did my garbage bin go?

I know that a popular after-concert hangout is the Ol’ Southern Pancake House two minutes south of Dickie’s Arena - a Ft. Worth legend open 24/7 for great diner style food. That’s a lock for us after our show.

But not sure before the show. What's a great PRE-CONCERT spot for before/after you have parked your car at the venue? Stop at Rex's or Bricks and Horses before parking? Walk-over to Hotel Dryce or Bull and Bush Pub after parking? Other hot spots?

Where do folks hang out just before concerts at Dickie's?

I want to buy a new Rush shirt, to go to the upcoming concert. It doesn't need to be a '50-something' shirt - just a nice Rush shirt. (Not a hoodie or jacket). I'm a dude and I weigh 230lb - I wear between an XL and a XXL.

Problem: I look terrible in T-shirts - my belly makes me look like Homer Simpson. I don't want a T-shirt and that's 95% of what I see, and the button down shirts are often low-quality, super cheap 'pro-team logo knock-offs.'

Where can I get a nice Rush shirt that isn't a T-shirt? A nice Hawaiian-style shirt or similar, or maybe a Hockey Sweater or a baseball jersey that isn't obviously a cheap piece of crap?
