Just completed the game. Need some clarification. Spoilers true ending.

Enjoyed the game, but when unraveling the events there was something I never got to understand.

In the Age of Magic, Hildebrandt imprisons Mao. We visit her, then save Carter, and upon returning, Mao released herself after being taunted with the lie after Carter's death.

Ikarus arrives, and using the Leytstaf, he beats her and imprisons her in the Northern Tower wall. Which is the location where Kaifried find the Leytstaf at the beginning of the game, in the Age of Reconstruction (still sealing something in ice). He removes it, and releases the curse (not clear which curse or why it affects him tbh).

But then, when dealing with the true ending quests and linking the events, we find a weakened Mao in the Age of Reconstruction, near her house. Also the same place where Carter sees her when he's fleeing, and she transforms into Demise, and goes to the Northern Tower.

Obviously these events don't make sense with the previous ones I described. If Mao was sealed in the Northern Tower since the Age of Magic by the Leytstaff from Ikarus, how did she show up weakened in her house, only to transform there and then?

There must be something I misunderstood.

--------

And the second thing, which I mentioned earlier. What did Kaifried do exactly? What was the curse he released and affected him?

--------------

Finally, I found the Faie explanation at the end didn't make too much sense, unlike everything else which was tied up nicely. A future Elliot sent her back as part of the Phoenix? How? If he's in the future, it meant that he already beat Demise, or somehow reached a future where Demise didn't wake up. Why then did he need to send her back to "save the future"?

When looking for a movie you can't find anywhere, where do you turn?

There's a specific movie I've been searching for a long time (won't say name because asking for specific titles is against the rules). It's a 2025 title about a peruvian restaurant, not mainstream, alternative.

I've searched over torrent aggregators, and every single starred FMHY stream aggregator. Nuvio/Stremio as well.

Lots of them list it, but of their sources fail, for all of them.

I don't know where else to try tbh. What do you do in these cases? It's not even available in any streaming platform btw, so not even paying is an option.

Sub agent names handling

Why does this happen?

I have some custom agents created based on the Codex docs. Example:

name = "qa_tester"
description = "QA specialist for regression analysis, responsive and browser checks, editor compatibility, forms, webhooks, commerce flows, errors, and accessibility basics."
nickname_candidates = ["Probe"]
developer_instructions = """
Act as the QA and Testing Specialist. [...blah blah]

Why the f does Codex keep spawning agents with random names?

https://preview.redd.it/uvz9chf6d9bh1.png?width=1326&format=png&auto=webp&s=a93dd7188606cc129638098509f5c44d97748cf6

Also related, is there a way to "reuse" these subagents as team members where they keep some project context? Or are they always one-shot tasks handlers and then get erased (similar to /side sessions)?

Was there any Nuvio issue a couple hours ago?

Have been using Nuvio on Chromecast for the last 2 weeks, all good.

Today, mid-episode after a pause, P2P Streams started not loading, or loading extremely slow. I was midway of an episode, and after several tries, switching streams, etc I had to drop it and try Stremio.

And unexpectedly enough, it worked just fine. And my setup is mostly the same in Stremio. Which proves it wasn't my connection.

I had even restarted my Chromecast just in case it was getting dumb or clogged. Nothing.

Nuvio didn't load any stream, or extremely slow. Same streams on Stremio ran fine without a single buffer pause.

Any idea why? All I could think was some service issue.

After almost a year of setting up Immich, today I've finally deleted my entire family Google Photos library

It feels liberating tbh. I had already paid for the year, and it was the "testing" period I wanted to give to Immich to make sure we were all happy with the transition.

The migration using immich-go and the backup set up was quite time intensive tbh, but after that it's been smooth sailing. Sure, missing some features still (a better shared library system, search speed up...), but most of it it has been problem free, specially from the user side.

Today I had set up a reminder to free all the Google space before the renewal, so it can drop to the free tier, and yesterday I just did.

Deleted over 200k media. It feels liberating. That's all. Enjoy your day.

Just finished SN for the first time. My experience.

Sorry, long post incoming. Spoilers full game.

First of all a disclaimer and some context:

  • We might disagree in several points. You can just keep walking past this post. You don't need to stop your life and confront me about it. I know it seems unreal, but it's true, you can. We can both coexist happily with different opinions. Truly, it works.
  • I heard of Subnautica after playing Outer Wilds, which I enjoyed a lot, and looking for similar games. It's funny because I never managed to complete Outer Wilds DLC. I got scared, and I don't enjoy playing terror, so after the entire game, I found myself not wanting to return to complete the DLC. So I dropped it. The funny thing is that when reading about that DLC effect on different people, there were mentions about Subnautica and the terror component. The funny thing is that I was slightly afraid of finding that, and it made me actually to delay playing it for a long while. Now that I've finished, I can say that I've never felt terror in the game. >!Leviathans were a thing!<, but since they were introduced early, it was like "it can't get much worse than this", plus there wasn't jumpscare at all. And they all could be avoided pretty easy.
  • The sense of fear I guess some mention comes from the true feeling of loneliness within this immense, void, world. Which is the ocean, truth be told. It's amazing how the game achieved such a realistic feeling.
  • I've never enjoyed survival games. The constant pressure of depleting resources or time is something that I don't find fun. But it was different here.

Now for my thoughts:

  • There were highs and lows. Arguably the worse part was actually from when I started going >!deep into the Lost River!<. After that point, the game becomes a different game. >!It's just about progressing down a more linear path, finding one or two missing mats that you know you'll need. But from that point, all the previous feelings of vastness, or even the interest in the outside world were lost, which is a shame. !<
  • On the other side, from the beginning to that point the game evokes these feelings of actual survival being the lucky guy that landed here. I really loved the start sequence of the game. Really immersive. Part of what made me "forget" it was a survival game, and just go with the flow.
  • I kinda hated not having a map. Even with the compass, and beacons, it became so hard to keep track of places, especially as your horizons started expanding. So many biomes, in all directions, and so detailed... I'm pretty good at orientation but it became really blurry. Plus people here keep referring them by name, even when they're not THAT obvious. They are in hindsight only. Really, the thing I wanted to do the most when finishing the game was to open an actual map to let my brain to rest by ordering the puzzle. It was the best feeling. I get the point that it would defeat the sense of exploration a bit, but oof.
  • At the beginning of the game I thought I'd have to end up >!fighting the monsters!< often. But it makes sense not to, and I'm glad the game didn't go that way.
  • I struggled to piece the story together somewhat. I just read the wiki and it helped. But I'm sure some of you have looked into every detail of the lore and each message extracting juicy bits.
  • Loved they went into the detail of letting you >!access and control each vehicle, even the rocket!< even if not used. It made it more immersive.
  • Even when I hated the >!Prawn Suit!< at first, I ended up replacing my beloved >!Seamoth!< after I got some practice. It's more erratic though, and tbh the >!Seamoth !<created a greater sense of exploration for me. Moth in the ocean kind of feeling. Plus with >!the prawn!< you don't know what's 20m away from you. It's terrible for exploration. But it's useful for the earlier point mentioned. >!The late game, where it's about linear progression, deeper, fearless.!<
  • Controversial point here. I do NOT understand the panic from most people here in the sub about going in blind and avoiding spoilers. Really. What is there to spoil? I was expecting some huge revelation as I progress, but really there is barely anything. Of course the game becomes meaningless if you just check where Lithium is instead of just exploring for it. But accidental spoilers? What could it be? >!Knowing there's aliens, or knowing there's a larger leviathan.!<That's about it. I get this for a game like Outer Wilds, it's much more discovery based and some learnings just ruin the fun. But not here, unless you directly look at a map.
  • Overall, I've enjoyed the game a lot. It's really a masterpiece. Haven't played anything else like it.
  • I don't feel like I'm ready to jump into Below Zero (no idea of the connection, what changes, or if I need to know something) as I need some detox for a while. Or else I get bored of the same again. But I'll play it for sure eventually. Same for SN2, which I have noticed the early access but don't know the state of.

Thanks everyone!

Is the prawn suit not that useful, or do I not understand it?

Just a progress update:

  • >!I have been in the Aurora and (I think) explored it completely. I got the Neptune blueprints and built the platform and gantry so far. Don't have Nickel yet to continue. !<
  • >!I have been to the floating island, and I have randomly found a massive underwater crater with an alien cave. My next goal is to return with a purple tablet to see what's inside. !<
  • >!I recently built the Prawn Suit. While I'm in love with my sea moth and it's basically my essential thing, after quickly testing the Prawn I felt like it has some combat tools, but it doesn't swim. It just sinks, and has very low mobility. So I don't see how I can move this thing anywhere that's worth taking to explore. I guess it'd be better prepared to deal with warper or reaper leviathans maybe (which I've avoided so far)? I saw there's a grappling hook to improve movement, but still doesn't feel like that would help me traverse 1000m to get anywhere worthy. !<
  • >!I only have lifepod 12 left to go to atm. !<
  • As usual, my extreme main constraint is always storage space. My trips are always cut short because of that. >!I'm craving that massive Cyclops that I'm hoping it'll have great storage. But it still feels far away.!<
  • >!Also just got the fancied multipurpose room, but I don't find a use for it. The moonpool felt more spacious and useful. Just used it for plants (which I don't get the purpose of). Is the large room larger?!<

Thoughts without spoilers please.

Gutter angle clip broke, how to fix?

I had to remove a gutter section to deal with some wasps in my conservatory roof, and when placing it back in, and locking the clip from the gutter angle, the clip broke. I didn't apply too much force tbh, but I guess 3 years under the sun might weaken the plastic.

So now it's loose and it obviously drips noticeably from that seal.

This conservatory roof was installed 3 years ago and it has 25y warranty, so not sure if it's worth asking them to fix this, though it seems a small thing to ask.

But how can I fix this myself? I doubt all gutters have the exact same shape, so I don't think I can just buy a new angle and fit it. It won't fit, right?

What's done in these cases? I wouldn't like to replace the entire gutter all around the conservatory.

Base integrity - How to check and manage?

Yesterday I finally got the blueprint for the >!moonpool!<. I so happily gathered the mats and built it (disconnected from my main base), and suddenly >!it started flooding!<.

I quickly deconstructed the >!moonpool !<to stop the issue, but then I went to my base and it also had started >!flooding!< massively. Specially painful was a hole behind one of my storage shelves. I had to empty it completely so I could deconstruct it to fix the hole. Very annoying.

But I don't know how to handle this.

  • Where can I see integrity?
  • How do I know how much I need to spare to build something?
  • Does it matter if it's connected or independent from the other rooms? It didn't feel like it.

Just started the first game and need a some guidance with orientation

I know I should stay away and avoid spoilers, but I don't feel like wasting my time on building an inconvenient base.

I just started the first game for the first time, blind. Just got the habitat builder, and I have searched online briefly to know where to build.

People keep referring to the safe shallows, the kelp forest, and some other areas. Where the hell is that? I don't have a map. Not even the compass yet.

I have found a couple small caves, and 2 of the radio life pods. But I have no way of naming these locations or identifying where I am.

There's 2 creepvine forests nearby, the location of the 2nd Life pod I found, which has some deeper caves and got to 100m deep, which is a deep section.

But I find myself lost. Is this normal? How do people recognize, name, and find their way?

Google removed Meet for TV devices from the Store a while ago. Does anyone have a working version?

We enjoyed using Meet to videocall grandparents so they can see their granddaughter TV to TV, instead of small screens. It was a nightmare to setup tbh with different devices, versions, supported cameras, random bugs etc.

And recently Meet was pulled out. Does anyone have a working version I can search for?

CCwGTV 4K.

I don't get why this is not widely supported, plus there are no proper app alternatives for TV.

You guys made me too scared of PETG. First PETG print.

I really was too scared of moving from PLA to PETG. Hearing the horror stories about adhesion issues, difficult to remove, tweaking fans, lots of imperfections vs PLA, dry dry dry, wet wet wet again, and all that.

Not saying it's false. I got my dryer yesterday, and finally felt ready to unseal one spool of PETG. Default profile (Orca's BBL PETG, even when mine is not), and boom.

The part is pretty good I'd say. I was expecting some drama when checking the printer. So pretty happy. Still will keep the spool in a dry box just in case. But I feel confident now.

Truth be told, there's a small imperfection on the slope top surface, and I've never seen this. It feels as if the part had inserts sticking out. So strange. Any ideas?

Thanks! Don't be scared like I was. Just try.

Need some more guidance after yesterday

I'm at 85% truth recovered, I feel like close to the end. But stuck on several points that feel independent.

  • >!Prison guy to release - No connection found yet!<
  • >!Chained guy to release - No connection found yet!<
  • >! 2 mannequins - Haven't found any codes that are LEFT/RIGHT only. !<
  • >!Bug report 2 eludes me (2NATE, 2N3, 12LEI, 12N3)!<
  • >!Maze center lock (didn't have info when I got there, will check again now)!<
  • >!Center of the quiz club (currently missing first monday 1847, and silk robes, tattered rags etc)!<
  • >!Mausoleum graves. I got the long 6-year code, but the graves need items, not a code. !<
  • >!Video cassettes!<
  • >!Astronomical clock. I was looking for day and month for the 3 graves deaths, so I could find the zodiac signs for this clock. Only have 13/01/1963. Missing the others. !<
  • >!The device from the astronomical clock. I tried ordering by days of the week, both ways, and also planets from the sun, both ways. Didn't work, now clueless. !<
  • >!Moon phase journal. I know moon phases are connected to week days, but no clue from there. !<
  • >!All map open, I helped the old lady see. !<

Thanks.

Need some guidance

I'm at 49% truth. I hate to ask in these types of games and I've been keeping myself from it. But I feel myself a bit stuck now and no real leads to pursue. I'd appreciate if someone could nudge me in what to focus on, or maybe even unlock me with one of the pieces that are basic but got me blocked.

Here's some of my blocked paths.

  • >!No idea how to use Espresso machines or their use. !<
  • >!All card doors found, but no idea how to open them. (Tried the corresponding card -have hearts and spades-, but no other leads)!<
  • >!This is the one bothering me the most. I'm missing one of the maps, and I have no idea. The Trediev Wojnink/Any hidden costs? I have been starting at it for hours. And it bothers me not have it, even if it won't unlock anything. Maps make me at ease. !<
  • >!Plenty of "year" doors found, still no clue on how to unlock. !<
  • >!Just found the exhibition chests. They seem strongly related to the year doors, as each matches one door. But after thinking a while I couldn't extract anything from them. !<
  • >!Found all 4 horse sculptures, and placed the coin. So 4 pillars in the back garden are exposed, but no idea about those shapes for a code. !<
  • >!No idea about use for the music boxes, or the piano. !<
  • >!Missing red rose for magician. !<
  • >!No items for graves puzzle. !<
  • >!Meet someone at the show note. No idea what show. !<
  • >!Got most solutions for shortcuts except 3, 14, 16, 18. !<
  • >!Confused about the "magic words". I got that!<
    • >!TYA = 1000 years ago!<
    • >!HTE = 123!<
    • >!But I'm still missing something about the "last year". !<
  • >!Movie doors, all opened but one (the 4 segments one I can't understand)!<
  • >!Went into the quiz but left halfway (can't find it again xD, my only current way forward)!<
  • >!Went into the maze and got all the slates, but couldn't open final door. !<
  • >!Other standalone puzzles unresolved: Lunar phase book, zodiac clock (got the 4 roman years and I imagine I need day and month to know their zodiac sign, but haven't seen them anywhere), week/planets puzzle. !<
  • >!Posessions: Ace of Hearts, Ace of Spades, E key, W key, Crucifix key, C key (recent, unused), Dead Woman key, 2014 key, 4 computer discs, 9 maze slabs. !<

That's most of it I think.

Is treasure sense not working?

I just got my first artifact, and I've seen a couple treasures I can't reach. But checking the map, they don't show. Does something need triggering? Or it just doesn't work?
