Eldritch RPG Horror Game [Online][Other][GMT-05]

Hello everyone! I'm interested in trying the Eldritch game, using the Year Zero Engine. I'd like to find a GM who is OK with 1-on-1 games so that we can explore a personal struggle and horror story.

I'm from the eastern US and in my mid-30s, so I'm looking for someone of a similar age. I also have no content restrictions. For those who are interested, I've been in the hobby for about 16 years now as a GM and player in a lot of systems. I'm not too concerned about your experience level, so if you're new to the system or to GMing at all, no problem.

Character Idea:

A man who delves into the darkness of the game's early 20th (or late 19th) century with pistol and forbidden knowledge. He's seeking something, maybe revenge, or understanding, which we can work out together when we talk.

Anyone who's interested, please feel free to PM me your Discord info.

The Banning Culture (No, I'm not complaining about a ban)

So over the past 5 years or so, I've noticed that Reddit moderators seem to be tightening the noose on what is and isn't "acceptable". The problem is, that doesn't always line up with the rules of the subreddit, or even Internet culture.

In the last 2-3 years I've been banned or had my posts removed more than anywhere and anytime in my 20+ years on the Internet (remember dial-up?). Keep in mind, I'm not very politically radical or anything and up until the last five years, I was almost never removed, censored or banned from anything. Most of what I talk about is gaming, writing, etc..

So I decided to do a little research and I found something pretty disturbing:

  1. Plenty of complaints on Google and other websites
  2. A few old complaints on Reddit
  3. A couple on Steam forums
  4. A university website that discusses the statistics of recent changes in moderation culture related to inherent bias.
  5. Google's AI agreeing (for what that's worth)

Notice, you won't find complains in appropriate places like the Steam subreddit, because the rules prohibit posting anything about steam support there. Including bans, complains or even discussions. I know because I've had several messages over the past few years removed, even though they were innocent open discussions on how Steam works. Moreover, I was even told to leave a subreddit about a TV show, because I opened a discussion about ways the show could have been better. They told me "this is a place for fans of the show", even though the subreddit didn't say that. They didn't ban me, but it was a pretty big show of stupid.

So, to be clear:

  • You can't post about something in the subreddit that's made for it.
  • Subreddits have rules against posting about other subreddits.

I just read a 7-year old post on this very subreddit about something similar and have recently had some bad experiences on Steam forums (unheard of until the last few years), even though we know the moderators there don't work for Valve.

So I suspect this issue is actually much larger, we just can't see all of it because of all the restrictions. It's like a self-fulfilling prophecy. Hell, even this post will probably be deleted, at least by the automoderator or because someone thinks I'm breaking rule #3 without reading the context.

What do you all think this means for Reddit? Are we being choked out of our ability to talk anything, anywhere? Is decentralized moderation no longer working?

New to Harn

I'm an avid roleplayer and prefer grounded settings/games focused on resources, manpower, NPC interactions, etc.. Having been in the hobby for about 15 years as a GM and a player, I've found I just prefer 1-on-1 games.

I'd really love to experience Harn and thought I'd come here to note my interest for a GM. I'll include some info below, but feel free to PM me any questions or your Discord if you're interested.

About Me:

  • In my 30s
  • From the eastern US
  • Respectful of people's time
  • Working mic
  • Enjoy dialogue, strategy, planning, resource management, in-game projects

Some Systems I Already know:

  • Mythras/Runequest
  • Codex Integrum
  • Twilight 2000
  • Cepheus Engine (Traveler, Modern War, etc.)
  • D&D (5e, 5.5e, 3.5e)

Duet Game for Less Common Games [Other][Online][GMT-05]

Hi folks! I've run across a lot of interesting-looking books at the store and wanted to give them a try. So I decided to go to Reddit. What could go wrong? I'm looking for a flexible GM who wants to learn any of these games with me and, if we don't like it, we can move to something else.

Some Interesting Games/Settings:

  • Crimson Vestments
  • Outgunned
  • Blades & Wit
  • Grimoires of the Unseen
  • Shadowdark
  • Renaissance
  • Gods of the Forbidden North
  • Grim Hollow
  • Unhallowed Metropolis
  • Call of Cthulhu
  • Maybe a few more?

I GM for gruops without issue but my prefered playstyle is (as the title states) 1-on-1 for easier social setting, scheduling and being able to play a highly-active character. I have a working sense of humor and don't have a lot of content restrictions.

Please feel free to PM me with your Discord to arrange a talk.

Additional Notes:

  • Working mic
  • I'm from the eastern US
  • Only speak English
  • Reliable and respectful of others' time

Price for Sale

I don't know about everyone else, but i would LOVE to have a way to to not hear about sales on my wishlist unless they are at least 70% off. I get so many notifications about 15%, 20%, etc.. Yet the game prices are staying so high for years and years, that it's not even worth it, lol.

I feel kind of stupid for asking, but in different episodes/shots/images, Revy has different color hair. Is it supposed to be red or purple, according to canon? Or do we even know?

I've had groups of players/GMs tell me in the past that there is no induction process for Delta Green, no training or similar thing. Yet I saw a live play where the GM ran the handler as pushing the agents to follow "protocols" and he even mentioned "Delta Green Training".

So I'm wondering: what IS the induction process for someone invited to join Delta Green?

Hello! I have seen a number of not-so-well-known systems while purusing DriveThru and I have to admit that some of them look very interesting. Among these are games that play like an action movie or take place in a modern setting.

I'm a very active roleplayer in my 30s from the eastern US and I'm looking for a GM to run 1-on-1 games with me. I'm very collaborative and reliable, so I'm looking for the same. I also have a wide availability right now.

Please feel free to send me a PM with your Discord username if you're interested and we can talk about it.
