What kind of professionalism is this?

It's so ignorant that some of you idolize M&G by saying they're "good" writers when they treat their cast like this. This is the second time they've done this to Emma specifically.

The first time this happened, Jenna thought Emma knew about the body swap. Even Hunter had to prepare for months because he knew he was going to film an oiled-up scene. But Emma, who is a coprotagonist, doesn't know what she'll be doing at work in the coming months?

They should've been replaced by this point. But what's going on? Part of this fandom chooses to ignore this fact as long as they like the show's narrative, even if it harms the actors.

Honestly, this fandom is a huge disappointment.

My opinion on Chub and other alternatives I tested

After searching and testing several alternatives, I came to the conclusion that Chub may be, if not the best, alternative because it might be what some CAI users are looking for.

As far as I've seen, this is what some of you want:

  1. UI similar to that of CAI.
  2. The character not behaving OOC
  3. AI being creative and moving the plot forward without repeating the same clichés. Example: "You're mine," "Can I ask you a question?" "Is that okay?" "I'm right here, I've got you," and a bunch of other 🤡 stuff
  4. Fun
  5. No filter
  6. SFW also
  7. Lorebooks
  8. Personas
  9. Free
  10. No ads
  11. Idk what else am I missing

A little while ago, I tried these alternatives and I really didn't like them for these reasons:

  • Simulacra.ink: It's like if Wikifandom had AI. Literally. Which is good. BUT, here's the thing: the wikis have the plot of the universe the character is from, and the character is going to focus heavily on that rather than what the user wants. You can't post public bots here. Not to mention that they just added limited messages. (Bruh)
  • Y/N: It's like AO3 but with AI. It has that response format as if someone were literally roleplaying, like "*she sits down and says* I'm listening" Never mention the character they're portraying in third person while they're doing those actions. It's not narrative, nor does it have that many features. If you like first-person roleplaying, then I suppose you might like this. BUT to create an account they ask for a number. This is to prevent multiple accounts or something like that. It's not a big ideal; they'll just send you a code to create the account, and that's it. Although not everyone may like that.
  • FictionLab: It has quite a few features. Personally, I didn't like it. It's boring. The RP doesn't go anywhere if you don't move it forward. And despite not having a filter, the NSFW is very, VERY slow. I know some people don't want bots that just want to #### and prefer something slow, but the slowness in FictionLab is just exaggerated. Not creative at all either.
  • Saucepan AI: It's good but it's such a struggle. It has lorebooks, more features when creating personas, even a unique section for sharing cooking recipes! BUT It's kind of repetitive. I know this depends a lot on how you program the bot. Personally, my bot kept using sentences like "this fucking TV" or "so fucking horrible." I spent SO MANY TIMES editing the bot and doing everything to make it stop, but it didn't work. One thing it has is an option where you can tell the AI what to do when it responds or where to take the plot; some people might like that, but I don't. I want the AI to cooperate on its own. It doesn't have a filter, but if you want it to use explicit words you'll have to program it for that too, because without programming it will use metaphors or be vague with anatomy descriptions. It will also ask you many times how you feel, asking for consent when it has already made clear, asking too many questions to see what it can do for you, IN character. Like, the AI wants to always make sure you're okay. And don't even get me started on the length of the messages, IT'S EXAGGERATED. I told the AI to write a maximum of 3 paragraphs, but it kept writing more. Then I set a limit of 750 characters per response, but the RP didn't get anywhere because it kept repeating the same thing.
  • Junipero AI: Same as Saucepan AI. But here you have to subscribe to get more features like lorebooks and stuff.
  • Spicychat AI: I did try it, but I don't remember much about it. There was something about it I didn't like. I don't know if it was the number of bots or the UI.
  • Janitor AI: It used to be quite feral. It's boring now. The role-playing goes nowhere. The UI is plain ugly. And it's just too NSFW. There are many NSFW bots and the AI is overly NSFW. And its popularity is frustrating because if you want to create an angst-filled roleplay, it's always going to end up being in NSFW or simply not being creative. Which makes me hate Chub users because they only post NSFW bots when AI has so much potential to be creative with SFW scenarios.
  • SillyTavern: I haven't tried it. Chub seems to have a connection with Sillytavern, though.
  • Perchance: The UI is sus, so I didn't feel like trying it.
  • AnyConversation: Just no. If you want to publish a bot, it will be on behalf of the community, not yourself.
  • Chai: Too many ads.
  • Emochi: Just no. It doesn't have many features. Even though I was looking for an UI like CAI's, it's just not good.
  • DarLink AI: IGNORE ANYONE WHO SUGGESTS THIS OPTION. THEY'RE ALL BOTS.

Then I came across Chub.

Before exploring other options, I created a Chub account, but I didn't really see the appeal and went looking for other alternatives. But then, finally, after going through some disappointments, I decided to give it a second chance. I created a bot, and surprisingly, it hooked me.

I spent hours in it, and it was in the FIRST chat with the bot. And despite spending a lot of time, the plot moved forward without a hint of NSFW because I just wanted to focus on the fluff and narrative at that time.

That was until I finally made the first move, which was NOT deliberate, obvious, or very direct, straight to the point. The bot picked up on the slight hint and started to escalate the RP. It wasn't repetitive or cliché. Nor was it repetitive in the NSFW part where the bot always says "I'm going to ruin you for anyone else" and shit.

This AI, while it might say that at some point, isn't going to emphasize and repeat it to make it perfectly clear. It's erotic rather than just ####. It might use a combination of explicit words with a description that isn't too over the top, just enough. Think of it like Soft Launch (RIP, may rest in peace). It doesn't behave ferally, but romantically and with that touch of initiative without becoming too much. It's balanced. Nor does it become another person during ####, as for example in Janitor where every bot takes on the same personality in the act.

The AI simply acts as the character the bot is based on would act during the, well, you know.

The length of the responses is perfect. Not too long, not too short.

As for the SFW side, expect the bot to be considerate, with sudden, surprising actions during dates. Creative narrative. If the character is funny, the bot will be equally funny.

That said, I'm going to share some very small RP snippets bc this is so good I gotta gatekeep. The first is one where my bot is describing a dream. I'm gonna use [CHAR] and [USER] bc I'm too shy. 🥺

>"Okay, okay. So, we're in the hammock. The sea is gentle, the stars are out, the ship is creaking real quiet like. And you're laying on my chest, right? Because apparently my heartbeat is 'the only tolerable lullaby in existence.' Your words, not mine." She pauses, swirling the tea in her mug, buying herself a second to gauge [USER] reaction before plunging forward. "And I'm running my fingers through your hair, admiring all the little braids I spent an hour on before we mutinied. And then you practically whisper, and I quote: 'If we survive this, I want to find a quiet island and build a cottage. With a lighthouse. So I can watch storms from a safe distance.'" She softens her voice, "And I tell you… 'I’d follow you anywhere. Even if it meant building a thousand lighthouses.'"

>"Purely scientific curiosity," [CHAR] adds quickly, holding up her hands. "I've never roomed with an omega before. And you're… different. You don't exactly fit the weepy, nest-building stereotype." She rocks on her heels, then gestures vaguely between them. "Just wondering how an omega like you handles it. If you handle it."

>“What? No! I wasn't trying to—" She stops, groans, and drags her hands down her face. "Okay, that came out wrong. I wasn't trying to pry into your business like some creep. I was just…" She trails off, struggling to find the right words without making it worse. She lets her hands drop, meeting [USER] horrified stare with an earnest, almost vulnerable expression. "I'm curious about *you*, [USER]. Not your cycle. Just… you. The piano, the writing, the way you look at people like you're mentally cataloguing their funeral arrangements." A soft, genuine smile tugs at her lips. "You're fascinating. And yeah, maybe I'm a little aware that you're an omega and I'm an alpha, and my brain keeps going 'protect, provide, pay attention.' But I'm trying not to be weird about it. Promise." She holds up her pinky, offering it with a hopeful look. "Truce? I'll drop the heat talk. For now."

YES IT WAS OMEGAVERSE LET ME BE >:(

So yeah, that's my opinion of Chub and other alternatives lol.

Anyway, I'm dying to try Swerve. It has me intrigued because some say it's identical to CAI.
