Why do Muslim men refuse to yield when walking towards another non-Muslim man on the same path or sidewalk?
I'm not Muslim, but live in an area of the US with a growing Muslim population and I'd like to better understand this. I've stopped moving aside, and I'm now presented with a number of various responses ranging from the other person just moving at the last moment, to having them stop and stare at me. It's admittedly annoying, but I'm trying to understand any cultural significance. Just male dominance, or something else more nefarious? For the record, I'm a white, Christian American of European ancestry.
