[ECCV 2026 Malmö] Looking for 3-4 people to share an Airbnb — Sept 7–13/14, splitting costs across 7-8 people
Hey everyone!
We're a group of 4 researchers from IIIT Hyderabad (International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad — Hyderabad, Telangana, India) attending ECCV 2026 in Malmö, Sweden. We're planning to book a large Airbnb (sleeps 7–8) to keep costs low and are looking for 3–4 more people to join us and split the stay.
Dates: September 7 – 13 or 14 (flexible on checkout — longer stays often come at nearly the same nightly price, so 1–2 extra days may be essentially free)
Location: Malmö, Sweden — close to or well-connected to the conference venue
About us: We're Computer Science researchers working in areas like Computer Vision and Document Understanding. Chill, respectful, and just here for the conference — no drama, just good research conversations and shared grocery runs 🙂
What we're proposing:
- Book a 7–8 person Airbnb and split the total cost equally
- Coordinate on check-in/out, kitchen use, house rules etc. over a group chat beforehand
- Flexible on exact headcount — the more people, the cheaper it gets for everyone
Why this makes sense:
- Hotels in Malmö during ECCV week are expensive and book out fast
- A shared Airbnb across 7–8 people can be significantly cheaper per person than solo bookings
- You also get a kitchen, living space, and actual human interaction beyond your hotel room 😄
Interested? Drop a comment or DM with:
- Your name & affiliation
- Your dates (arrival/departure)
- Any preferences or questions
We'll set up a group chat once we have enough interest and finalize the booking together.
Looking forward to meeting fellow researchers in Malmö! 🇸🇪

Location: Malmö, Sweden (close to or well-connected to the conference venue)
Vibe: Chill, respectful, working researchers — we're just trying to focus on the conference and not blow our accommodation budget
What we're thinking:
- Book a place that fits 7–8 people comfortably
- Split the total cost equally
- Coordinate on kitchen use, check-in/out logistics, etc.
If you're attending ECCV 2026 and haven't sorted accommodation yet, this is a good chance to save significantly compared to hotels or solo Airbnbs in the area during conference week.
Drop a comment or DM me with your name, affiliation, and dates you need — we'll coordinate once we have enough interest before locking in a booking.

26M - Hyd - Looking for conversations that accidentally become 3 hours long.
I’ve been lurking on this subreddit for about a month now.
Almost every day I’d read someone’s post, think, “Maybe I’ll write one tomorrow,” and then close Reddit. This post has probably been rewritten more times than my research papers, but here we are.
I’m 26, from Hyderabad. I’m currently pursuing my MS while working as an AI Research Engineer. It sounds busy because it is, but somehow I still find enough time to obsess over movies, drink questionable amounts of coffee, go to the gym, and spam my friends with meme stickers.
I don’t think I’m someone who becomes close to people overnight. I take time to open up, but I genuinely enjoy getting to know people. If we’re talking, I’ll eventually ask why you love what you love. Why that movie? Why that career? Why that song? I like understanding people more than just knowing facts about them.
Movies are probably my biggest hobby. Not just watching them, but talking about them afterwards. Half the fun starts after the credits roll. I’ll sit there wondering why the director chose that ending, whether a character could’ve made a different decision, or if there was symbolism everyone missed. Then I’ll probably end up watching interviews, reading Reddit discussions, and falling into a YouTube rabbit hole explaining details I somehow missed.
I’m a huge Spider-Man fan too. If you’ve ever spent an hour arguing about Spider-Verse, No Way Home, Interstellar, or why Khaleja is still one of the funniest Telugu movies ever, we’ll probably get along.
I also enjoy exploring cafés, although I’ve reached the slightly disappointing conclusion that I like the coffee I make at home more than most cafés. The beans I get from Chikkamagaluru have spoiled me a little.
I work out regularly too. Mostly because I enjoy the routine and how it clears my head. My friends, however, have somehow become more proud of my arms than I am. Every now and then someone asks if I’m planning to kill people with my biceps. They’re dramatic.
One thing you’ll notice pretty quickly is that I communicate in references. Telugu comedy scenes, Spider-Man memes, random Instagram reels, WhatsApp stickers… that’s basically another language for me. If you get the reference, great. If not, I’ll happily explain why I laughed for five minutes.
I also notice random things. If we’re sitting in a café, there’s a good chance I’ll start making up stories about people around us, wonder how that place stays profitable despite having six customers, or randomly start talking about something completely unrelated because my brain connected two things that shouldn’t have been connected.
I don’t smoke, I drink maybe two or three times a year socially, and I honestly don’t care about caste. I’d rather know what kind of person you are than what category you belong to.
As for what I’m looking for… I don’t really have a checklist.
I think I’m just looking for someone who’s curious about people, excited to talk about the things she loves, remembers little details, asks questions back, and enjoys understanding people as much as being understood.
I don’t expect us to magically click in one conversation. In fact, I’d be surprised if we did. But if we end up talking for hours without noticing the time, I’d consider that a pretty good start.
One thing I should probably admit is that I’m much better in conversations than I am over text. Texting is great to get to know each other, but I come across far more naturally over a call or sitting across from someone with a cup of coffee. If we ever decide to meet, I’d always prefer something simple—a café, a walk down ISB Road, a park, or honestly wherever you’re most comfortable. And there’s absolutely no rush to get there. We can text for as long as you need. Comfort comes first.
I’m also pretty low-pressure about these things. If we click, great. If we don’t, that’s okay too. I’d much rather have one genuine conversation than try to force something that isn’t there.
Once I’m comfortable, you’ll probably get random movie recommendations, coffee opinions nobody asked for, terrible jokes that work about 70% of the time, and someone who’s genuinely interested in knowing who you are.
If you’ve read this far, thank you.
Instead of just saying “Hi”, tell me something you’re irrationally passionate about. A movie, a TV show, a football club, a food place you’ll defend with your life, or a random rabbit hole you’ve gone down recently.
I’d genuinely love to hear about it.
TL;DR: 26M from Hyderabad. AI researcher, MS student, movie nerd, coffee enthusiast, Spider-Man fan, and regular gym-goer. I enjoy conversations that go beyond small talk, I’m much better in person than over text, and I’d rather get to know the real person than tick boxes. If that sounds like your kind of vibe, tell me about something you’re irrationally passionate about.
Well....... Here I am
