Next best Sorc build besides firewall

I usually use moba, build guides seem to be kind of all over the place rn.

Don’t really wanna use firewall, prefer fast/high tele cd.

Assuming ce ball lightning but unsure of which guide is actually up to date. If someone could point me in the right direction would appreciate Ty

Was this record ever explained?

What interference causes the gap in the ocean?

The underground city is under the ice field iirc, where the coral is gathering… I suppose it makes sense that the gap would = the city… but geologically does it makes sense? And if it does make sense, when they raised the vascular plant how did they deal with the immense volume of water?

Questions like these and also how the coral surge at the watchpoint when we meet Ayre resulted in “vaporizing the bay completely” while never explaining how or differentiating the surge from the explosion leave me wondering about dialogue or text that’s just… not there.

(The bay vaporization as an example is clearly not the surge we experience when we meet Ayre, as the facility and its surrounding environment are fully intact, but she stays the destruction matter of factory as if we knew).

Scenes like this plus the absolute peak music in this game really hit when you take a second to soak them in

u/Coalecsence — 11 days ago

Something that Ayre says always kinda bugged me

After defeating Balteus, back at base (where even is that anyway? I assume it’s mobile… and that any work done on the AC is automated but I’ll make another thread about that)

"...Raven. The Coral explosion completely vaporized northwestern Belius's bay area...”

Which the map then shows the supposed vaporized area… and yet the facility and surrounding area are… fine?

I would have loved there to have been utter obliteration and altered maps heading on but… there’s no real visible sign of this catastrophic event taking place besides her words and the map shown in that comms dialogue.

AIO Pump not working - BIOS

Hi everyone.

In an attempt to fix a different issue with my pc (IO1 Initialization failure), I accidentally reset my bios.

This is a pc I got from a friend who already had things set up.

Asus x570 elite wifi (smart fan) and a master cooler aio, the 360 I believe.

CPU is overheating, fairly quickly, and auto shutting down.

I’ve gone into smart fan and set the cpu fan and opt to full power, pwm, but it’s still not working. RPM on the cpu is only sitting at around 650. Opt hits 4500+ (I saw 6000 at one time).

I’m not sure what other setting I need to change to get the pump itself cooling properly.

There’s no pump header on this board, and it WAS working fine previously until I reset bios.

Any help? If I can get it to cool then I can finally fix my main issue I was trying to fix before lol.

FF4 - Holy Weakness Early - Mid Game

I’m in the magnetic cave right now, and I’m studying enemies for weaknesses just to make things quicker.

I’m noticing most are weak to holy, but as far as I can tell I don’t actually have any holy spells or elements… what’s the point?

4070ti Vs 5070ti - How do they compare?

Hi Y'all.

I'm making a new build but have an existing 4070ti. My existing PC has pretty much gone to grampa's microcenter in the sky, and I haven't really been able to test the 4070ti to make sure it still works though I'm pretty sure it does.

With that being said, in the event I need to replace it, how does the 5070ti compare? It will be paired with a 9800x3d, 64gb 6000mhz 30cl ram.

Time to upgrade - for gaming!

Howdy!

I have a 4070ti I plan on using for this build.

-BC Canada
-Budget - $3000 CAD
-Used for 1440p/144hz gaming, max settings (demanding games. Think RDO/2, Cyberpunk, etc...)
-Will also be streaming

Need bluetooth, as I at times like to plug the PC into my TV and couch game with a ps4/5 controller

Really just looking for something as strong / modern as possible, using the maximum amount of my budget.

Prefer AMD as that's been my experience so far.

Enough peripheral ports (which I already have) for:
-2x mice

-1x keyboard

-Stream deck

-Elgato Wave 3 Mic

-Steelseries Arctis Pro /w gamedac

-Tobii Eye Tracker

-2x webcam (1 streamcam one standard / non-usb c)

-2x additional for phone charger and other item...

I believe I total 2 or 3 USB - C ports needed.

Would love an open view style case (like, where the front is also visible though).

EDIT: RBG / Fans would be a cool plus if there's room.

No preference on air or AIO cooled. Whatever is better honestly. I was thinking the peerless 120 SE ARGB myself. I'm not scared of putting the extra dollar down on a samsung 990 pro either, and while I'd love ddr5 6000mhz 30cl ram im pretty sure with like.. a 9800x3d I wouldn't really need the 30cl?

Lancool 217 - Fans

Hello.

I'm looking at building a new PC using the Lancool 217 case.

See build here - https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/qm8pH3

I want to put some new fans into it, largely for aesthetic reasons, while maintaining cooling efficiency.

I was looking at the Phantek D30's as I really like their design.

To be honest, I'm not sure what sizes I would need, and where exactly regular flow and reverse flow should go.

Keeping this in mind, as well as the size of the rest of my components, I'm wondering if someone could help me plan out my fans?

Thanks!

PC Gaming Headset - Arctis Pro /w Gamedac to...??

Hello.

I am currently using the steelseries arctis pro /w gamedac. The right cup cracked where the headband goes in and while they are still useable it's not optimal/can't really put them around my neck without the right cup falling out.

This, and the gamedac itself seems to have suffered some damage as the screen doesn't display properly and even freezes sometimes.

With that said, I truly love these headphones but finding a direct replacement seems difficult.

So, I am looking for something equivalent, that sounds feels and operates as closely to these as possible.

I prefer wired, mostly as I am unsure about wireless headset quality concerning the (I believe) absence of the connection to the gamedac which also operated as an amp IIRC?

Suggestions on new build?

Hi y'all.

Firstly, I already have the 4070ti from my previous build which kicked the bucket. I've been unable to determine what exactly ended my baby's life, but whatever... I'm using it as an excuse to move forward and I'm looking for something aethestically nice, powerful and efficient! Essentially something high end.

Region - BC Canada

Use - 1440p gaming (max settings) & streaming in HQ. Assume some limited video production.

Games vary, but assume high impact like Cyberpunk, Rd2, perhaps even GTA6 ready (I'm sure info on that is limited). I know the 4070ti will be the bottleneck but I can replace that later.

Budget - approx $3000 CAD.

Peripherals / requirements - Bluetooth ready (I have an adapter but would prefer integrated I guess. I like to do some couch gaming and hook my PC into my TV via HDMI and use a PS4 controller.

USB/C slots confirmed in currently selected mobo as adequate.

Peripherals seem to be covered. Enough USB/C's and Bluetooth!

The current build I have picked out below:

https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/ZFvNck

Note: I already have the peripherals as well.

Additional thoughts -

EDIT: Mobo is good for required USB connections.

- The RAM, CPU and MOBO come from newegg as a package at about $300 off, which is why those are selected. I'd prefer 30cl RAM but afaik 36cl with that cpu isn't much of a difference?

The case I'm not entirely sold on either. Wouldn't mind something more open/glass.

If anyone could suggest better fans/cooling or additional that would be swell too!

I'm currently using an old MG278Q 1440/144hz 1ms monitor as well. It works fine, but I've had it for a while... maybe an upgrade to that as well? As well as a 1080p version for a dual monitor set up that kind of matches.

Mostly I just want to be modern, not to have to upgrade again for a while, to have high fidelity/144hz experience... and a nice clean/modern aesthetic, and to ensure the case size is adequate... even room to spare. RGB is cool but not.. like a massive requirement. Would be nice though!

Could someone explain to me how my Steiner has over 1000 hp here??

I’m leveling in too, and for whatever reason Steiner HP has shot way the heck up. I know I read something about gear stats effecting stat boosts at level up, but I don’t fully understand it.

AFAIK, hp depends on STR, where the only stat boosts on equip description I have is spirit while I understand his str is 30… is 30 str really so much to give him 1k hp? (I am using 10% hp ability, but still… seems high?)

Probably time for a new build!

Hi everyone!

Currently on some other subs doing some trouble shooting but I figured I'd get a head start lol.

Location: BC Canada
Budget: $2000 CAD
USE: Gaming/streaming
Build to replace:
-Asus x570

-Ryzen 7 5800x
-Samsung 980 Pro
-Corsair Vengeance 3600mhz 16CL 32GB

-Peripherals I have from previous build.

I'm keeping the 4070ti. It's the only part of my current PC I know works. The rest is undetermined, though the mobo and RAM I'm fairly certain are shot.

Soooo, I'm looking for a modern build that rivals or is better than my current set up using the 4070ti, all new including case. I've been out of the upgrade game for a hot minute on newer hardware.

My intention is, of course, games! (and streaming).

Currently I play at 144mhz 1440p. Generally I like having as much fidelity as possible with high frame rate.

My budget isn't exactly "limited", but I also don't really need the mega best awesome of the awesome.

TLDR:
-Using 4070ti
-Game in 1440p / 144hz
-Would like highly compatible parts with potential future proofing/room for upgrades
-Rival or better than listed build above
-Bluetooth built in would be sweet but I have an antenna / adapter

IO1 Initialization Failure / PCH Fan Broke / General Memory Issues

Hi y'all

Couple problems...

Asus x570
Ryzen 5800x
Corsair Vengeance 3600mhz

Samsung Pro 980

Windows 11

---

My PC has definitely been on it's last legs for a while.

Originally I was having memory access issues (exception, etc... the usual culprits) (the second time... I've replaced my RAM three years ago, happening now again). Have done full windows reinstall which fixed it for a while. Over time the system became unstable again.

I've been combatting that for a bit, clean installing drivers, repairs, etc...

Had it running well again until just yesterday I was trying to launch a game and it kept crashing, so I did a file scan and restarted my PC...

To which I started getting the initialization failure, followed by a PCH Fan Broke message (which I confirmed it did indeed stop spinning. I tried to check fan curve in bios but couldn't figure it out. I checked cables, oddly enough I can't seem to locate the cable for the header for the fan itself??)

I tried doing repairs and even a full clean reinstall via network connection but the process hangs on downloading at 99% and then goes right back to the trouble shooting screen.

I tried chkdsk and sfc, sfc worked but chkdsk got stuck hanging over night with 2 hours left on it...

I uninstalled all my peripherals except mouse and keyboard and tried them in different slots.

I tried with each stick of ram alone, in different slots.

My assumption is either:

  1. PCH Fan being broken is causing the IO failure
  2. My SSD finally bit the dust (it's the oldest component in my PC, probably 6 - 7 years old, I don't really remember).
  3. RAM is faulty and caused 1 & 2.

Any insight?

Currently looking at rebuilding everything save my 4070ti. I'm not unconvinced the mobo may also be faulty at this point...

I’m not sure how to explain this or if this is the right place to ask

I spend most of my time in front of my pc.

Typically at night when I finally head to bed, when I close my eyes and move them I can make out the shape of my own eyes moving… pupils, iris, whatever it is it’s like my own two eyes in the darkness of my closed eyes, and even while open some times in the dark.

It eventually goes away, but it’s a recent development that I have not experienced until this year (39 year old male).

What’s going on?
