Guilt, regret, etc

How do you deal with aging parents, like mentally? Is it normal to have some guilt about regretting not spending as much time with them or anything? My parents are about 70. I have been having a hard time lately. Just not ready for them to get old. I also feel bad about not trying to see my dad more when they got divorced.

ROTC in college

I did air force ROTC in college 15 years ago. I was on contract but got out of the contract due to some medical pain i had from a previous injury. I got a call today from the investigator wanting to investigate my air force involvement. What all will they ask? Should I be concerned?

Getting a federal job

With how corporate america is now, with paying less and laying off, what do you all think of government jobs? Seems like to me, they are better than the private sector now, more stable, pension, and not obsessed about profit margins and quarterly earnings.

How long to stay at boeing before leaving

How long do you recommend staying at boeing at a minimum for, before leaving, like for another contractor? In order to leave on good terms. Like 1 year, 18 months, 2 years, 4 years etc?

FAA (or government job)

Does anyone here work for the FAA or have a federal job? If not, do you know someone who does? If you have any insite, would you recommend it? For a mid or senior level engineer.

Cubical or office setup/layout

At your federal job, are your cubicals really low and have the open office space layout concept (little privacy)? Also, do many people have their own office? I know this will vary by agency and location.

Working at the FAA, as an engineer

How is the FAA to work at as an engineer? What level, or pay, could I come in at as an electrical or general engineer with 11 years experience and from a defense contractor? Do engineers at the FAA have to travel a lot?

Engineers at the FAA

Engineers at the FAA, how is the job? Do you like it? Is it easy to get on at the FAA after working at a defense contractor? I have heard great things about working at the FAA, just wondering if it is true.

The cove at atlantis

How is the cove at Atlantis? Looking to book a trip this fall. We are early 30s couple, looking to relax at the beach basically, with hopefully plenty of good food options too and not too crowded. Would you recommend it?

Bad relationship with former supervisor

I hate to say this but I briefly worked at this job for a few months. I had to leave because the work environment was so toxic. This manager was the worst, no training, very strict, yelled at a lot, very rude and disrespectful, etc. He was just crazy. I left on my own. However, i guess I have to list this person as an old supervisor. Im worried, he will try to say bad stuff about me just to be mean and maybe even make stuff up. Should I be worried about this? Or is this all in my head?

St pete beach vs clearwater beach

How does st pete beach compare to clearwater? From what I can tell, it is better. If so, is Hilton garden on st pete beach good to stay at? We, a couple in early 30s, planing for the trip in late october.

Best beach in october

We are a couple, early 30s, drink a little but not really party. We are wanting a beach with clear water and white sand, kinda of a chill vibe. Walkable and some nice shopping would be a plus. We were thinking clearwater beach. Any other recommend? If you do recommend clearwater, what is a good resort?

Rosemary beach or Miramar beach in october

Will either of these locations be too cold in october(1st or 2nd week)? I know Miramar technically isnt 30a. Are both of these comparable for white sands beaches and clear/calm water?

Federal job and not being in just a rat race

Does having a federal job give you comfort and ease because there is no corporate rat race like being in the private sector? Does it work like that?
