Questions about lsac gpa

Hi, odd question. I saw a post talking about how next year lsac wont make people count their duel enrollment courses in their lsac gpa.

This leads me to wonder, does lsac make you submit transcripts from duel enrolled classes (university classes taken during highschool)? Mine are all technically on my high school transcript, but would I have to submit the transcripts from the colleges that my school used too?

Im hoping not as I have zero idea how to access them after a literally 9 years and I never transferred them in for my university degree, they are just on my highschool degree.

On the other hand, I have an undergrad gpa of 3.75 and I took 4 or 5 duel enrolled courses with had 100% grades (5.0 on their scale). Do you think this would increase my lsac gpa to the point it would be worth submitting it or could i save the money?

[Illinois] Update on unemployment

Hi,

I just wanted to come back here and give an update. A few weeks ago I asked for advice on an administrative hearing after leaving a job due to a mouse problem at a bakery. This problem wasn't fully treated and only grew worse over 5 months and the state argued that I stayed long enough to accept it as a risk. When I asked for advice on here for the administrative hearing I was told that I was screwed. That there was no way that I would win and that I was essentially wasting my time. I don't believe a single person on this thread told me that there was a shot.

So, for everyone else who is also fighting the good fight and struggling against a difficult circumstance, I'd like you to know this.

I won.

Evanston Roundtable Lead Pipes Article

Did everyone see the article my the Evanston Roundtable about the 9,300 led pipes here. If you haven't you should peep it and see if you need to sign anything for the city to come fix it for free or have your landlord fix their end. The bottom of the story has a link that shows which properties have led from the city and led from the property. I'm honestly surprised there's so many.

How do you contact a hiring recruting rep?

Hi,

My apologies if this isn't the place to ask, but I'm hoping that somsone might know or be able to direct me to the right spot.

Im applying for a Fedex retail service position in northeast Illinois and I have about 7 years of experience working in mail rooms and handling customers. I really like working with people, I'm good at this and even know how to fill out the fedex international paper forms too.

But anyway, I'd like to know if there is a way to contact a hiring manager so that I can express my interest and politely ask if we could schedule an interview? No worries if this isn't possible, I'm just being hopeful.

[Illinois] Phone Hearing Next Week

Hi,

I need some advice on next steps for a phone hearing.

From the top, I worked for a food business for 6 months that had a mouse problem for 5 of the months I was there. It started very small and then grew into something that should have closed the business, but never did. They treated the problem with the bare minimum in a lot of ways, but as the problem grew worse I walked with zero notice as I saw no solution in sight. (There was also other major issues, but I only reported the mouse issue to unemployment.)

Their decision came back and they determined that I stayed long enough and accepted the risk as part of the job. My claim is that the problem started small, some efforts were made, I turned them into the health inspector near the end to try and resolve it, but very little came from it despite them finding mouse poo in kitchen, so after gathering documentation I walked.

This goes to phone trial next week on Thursday, but I don't know if I should be doing anything. Do I need to get any other info? Do I need to submit anything else but my statement to counter their claim? What steps do I take next?

Edit: How do I argue this to prove that I didn't sit and wait for 5 months, that the problem didn't start at 100 and for at least the first 2-3 months I was hopeful for treatment to work, but after a health report, and then asking managers about the issue, I walked.

What color are my eyes?

First image is low lighting, second is under a light in my house, and third is an average lit room. All taken about 5 minutes apart.

I was always told by my parents that my eyes were like a blue/green/gray that they dubbed hazel light. 😂 But I honestly don't know and would love to hear what others think.

Nonprofits/ charity

I know that this is a long shot, but does anyone know any charities or nonprofits that are hiring? I really want to do something good in this world and support the community by giving back. 🥰 I'd love any advice you might have.

4th of July morning games

Hi,

Just curious does anyone know the age range for the 4th of July morning games. I have some pre teens (11-13) coming over for a BBQ, but if they're in age range I might send them to go play games first. I just want to make sure they aren't to old.

Advice for LSAT studying

Hi!

I really need some advice on what to do, I took the lsat in January and placed in the low 140s and took a PT today and did about the same. I really want to lock in and study, but I honestly need structure as I have ADHD and struggle to do this on my own.

I'm debating 7sage, but I've also heard Blueprint might be good. I'd love some feedback on programs that worked well for my fellow adhd students?

Im hoping for something that is more rigid and structured. With preferably short/ direct reading options that explain questions, as the test currently leave me a bit fatigue when studying for long periods. Im thinking shorter lessons that are more direct might be more helpful, if thats possible.

Any advice would be extremely helpful. 😁

Advice for spending a travel voucher

Hi! I have a 1400 voucher for aer lingus and I'd like some advice on maybe being able to get two people to Europe within or near that range.

We are hoping to travel sometime between later this year and December 2027. We have a slight preference for Italy, France and the Netherlands, but I'm also open to taking the Eurostar and Flixbuses to other countries.

So with that in mind, what sales and times of the year would you recommend going and booking?

Any advice would be really helpful.

1400 travel voucher and need ideas for two

Hi!

I have a travel voucher that's good till 2029 for a bit over 1400. I've been holding onto it so I can plan something special for my partner who has never been to Europe. I'm also hoping to maybe pop the question well we are abroad. 🥰

Anyway, the plan is to go anytime before December 2027 as he wants to at least leave the country one time before he turns 30 and I want that for him too.

So, I'm fine with waiting for sales and other dates that might be more helpful, but is there anywhere in Europe from Chicago that two people could get to for around 1400? Im hoping to also take the Eurostar or Flixbus to some more European nations and explore. I think Italy and France are big on his list, but we are open to other places too.

Any advice on sale days or tips for this process would be really helpful.

Literacy Concern

I know that summer just started, but I wanted to raise something to parents because I subbed for the district this year.(middle-high school) You might want to check if your kids can read...I'm not joking. The amount of kids I worked with who can barely read / are reading way under level is high. There are students who can't read aloud if asked, but they also can't read in general...

No judgement, just do yourself a favor and ask your kids to read a paragraph or two aloud. Pick some midly complex words and determine if they might need to work on their reading skills over the summer.

Would it be smart to recommend this program to my partner?

Hi!

So I'd love some inside knowledge from people in the program and to hear what they think of this situation.

My partner graduated with a CS Bachelors during covid, he interned then worked for a major tech company for a bout a year or two, but when the lay offs in tech came he was on the bottom and got cut. He unfortunately hasn't been able to get back in, so he's been doing other jobs to pay for life and codes projects on the side as he really loves it.

He is a nerd through and through, he loves to learn, but we've never been wealthy, so he doesn't believe that the funds exist to go for a masters. I have the funds and love him more than life, so I can swing this 🥰. So my question is, for someone who has a limited professional experience, and a BS in SC already, but is still passionate and driven, would this program help him get back into the game and eventually land a job in tech or do you recommend that he continues applying given that he already has a BS?

Id love any feedback or advice you'd be willing to share as I just dont want his spark to die.

[ILLINOIS] Appeal process

Hi,

I'd love some feedback and guidance on what to do. I live in Illinois and quit a job after 5 months of them barely treating a mouse problem at a small local bakery. It was to the point that the bags and boxes we use for desserts were covered in mouse poo and just so many other problems. I was concerned I would get sick or someone else would and I couldn't live with it, so I quit. I applied for unemployment but it was rejected and I'd like some feedback on how to successfully appeal or if I'm out of luck?

The first time I applied i stated the issue of mice and provided them photos and info on the first food safety report. This time around I have the report that was published one month after I left that says "they believe the situation is under control now." But it wasn't for nearly the entire time I was here, it was only addressed successfully after I quit.

Aside from this, there was a lot of other problems that I didn't publish to unemployment as I didn't know if less was more. For example, I started at the end of September I have in writing from the owner where she admitted in January that herself and multiple of us didn't have food handlers cards. I personally didn't get mine until February as it was never enforced.

Either way, is there anything here that could be fruitful or is this a lost cause? If its fruitful, what wording should I use, is there certain things that need to be said a certain way?

I'm more than willing to write about the concerns of Hantavirus and other mouse related diseases if there is any benefit to that.

Are ticks common here?

Hi,

With the news constantly reporting about tick season being way bigger in the country it has me a bit worried. Are ticks common in Evanston? Like on the beach or the small parks next to the beach? Or does the city spray again them? Sorry, I'm just worried and really don't like bugs of any form, so any knowledge would be great.

As a girl, I get a lot of guys being mean or weird if I don't pair with my five stack, due to this I have a list of non-banable insults that bite.

Most recently, I had a guy who wouldn't stop moaning in the VC. Pretty common experience unfortunately, but I told him "At least you're c***ing, because with a voice like that you'll never make a girl c**."

I'm looking for your most savages insults that aren't bannable, something to make people act right or feel bad enough to shut up, because harassing women or anyone in any game isn't okay.

Hi,

For some background, I'm unemployed and live full time in Illinois. I'm currently job hunting, but we'll I'm hunting id like to file for unemployment. I'm being told by the unemployment office that I have to have a state ID for it, they won't take a passport or anything else, this is the only way.

For the record, I don't have a state ID because the last one I had was only good for 5-6 months, not remotely joking. I didn't know they could be good for that amount of time and I felt like it was a waste to go back to get another when I have a passport book and card.

I'd like to know if anyone else has run into this limitation before? Has any one gotten around the ID request and simply provided all their legal documents instead of a state ID? Do you have any advice for this circumstance that doesn't keep me out another 2-3 weeks as I wait for an ID?

Ive been in line since 1:45...I'm not even half way through the line and it's 5:32. Like im in the black roaped area, but seriously what the frick are the organizers doing??! Its been almost 4 hours and at this rate, its going to take another 3-4 hours. If it wasnt for the fact she is one of my favorite VA's this is ridiculous. Like the line is horrendous and im honestly so sad that I can't do anything else at the convention because the line has moved 1 spot in the past hour. Im not even joking.
