How long do you give to break in a new running shoe?

Recently got a pair of ASICS novablast 5 and I walked 2 miles in them. My feet hurt sooo bad. Hurts to even stand because my heels hurt so bad. Before this I was in a ghost max (unsure of the version but got it last year) and those hurt my feet when I would just stand, but not while walking.

I think maybe the novablast is too cushioned?? Or am I not giving them a fair shot?

Any other shoe recommendations would be appreciated too. Walking/running about 4 miles a day. Have a history of plantar fasciitis as well so I fear the novablast may trigger that.

Upcoming 5k

Looking to do a 5k end of November or in December. Does anyone have one they recommend? I saw the Cornelius does and ugly sweater run. I didn’t see that Mooresville does a Christmas 5k? Looks like they did awhile back.

Help needed with Roth IRA/investing

Background:
26 Y/O
Current job doesn’t match 401k
So I have a 401k that I’ve been putting a little bit in to with each check. It’s not a lot and honestly I haven’t kept up with it. I also have like 3 different 401k accounts from my previous jobs. One is with JP Morgan, fidelity and then Principal is the current one.

I think the J.P. Morgan one has around 17k in it and the other 2 have maybe 3k in each. So a total of 22k.

Not sure if I should consolidate those or if I could??
I know I need to start investing and have opened up an individual Roth IRA with fidelity, but I have no idea where to start. I’m looking to put maybe $200 a check into this which would make it $400 a month. I just feel super behind. I’m 26 and have been trying to save for a house so I don’t know if a brokerage would be good to start too… but also not sure how that works.

I have a good chunk in my savings account and just opened a HYSA. I know that won’t do too much, but it’s better than that money sitting in a regular bank account.

Any help/advice is appreciated but please make it understandable if possible and not confusing. I just need help starting out

Help with email click rates

Hi, I’m still trying to understand email marketing and everything that goes into segmentation. Any help would be appreciated.
I’ve been working on trying to improve click rates over this past year in a klaviyo account. The average for them is around .15-.30% which is pretty rough. The list size is around 60k and it’s sending to people who have opened or clicked within the last 30,90&120 days and then if someone has placed order, active on site, viewed product in last 30,90&120 days. So, sending to 60k and it seems that only about 150 people click the email.

The only time we have decent click rates is when it’s a product launch or a sale and it’s hard because we have a sale all the time, but I don’t have much say in that.
I send about 3-4 emails a week and it ranges from YT video, educational content and a product highlight.

Should I send to a much smaller list? Like only people who have clicked in the last 30&90 days? Klaviyo support had suggested that but that list size would only be 12k

I’m new to this and really want to understand but have no help. I don’t want to sacrifice revenue for better click rates either, but I know that it impacts deliverability.

Where to stay in Florida gulf

I’m wanting to take a trip next March to Florida and this will be my first time there. I really want to be at a nice beach and want to find some pretty seashells. The seashells are the reason for Florida soo hoping to find a beach or one I can hop to if possible. Just so many beaches in Florida and unsure which is good to go to. I don’t care for drinking or anything like that. Just want to relax and be able to walk around.
Also hoping to be somewhat near an airport as we will have to fly there

What loan should I pay off first?

I want to get debt free and currently have 20k in savings
I have a truck loan and have $5050 left on it and it has a 10% interest rate. It’ll be paid off by next fall, but thought to just pay it off and put the money I would make towards the payment back into savings.

Then I have $7041 left in student loans and there’s about 4 of those broken into smaller payments and have no more than a 2.4% interest rate each.

I plan to pay them both off by next year but unsure which would be better to do first or if I should pay off half of them and then save more and pay the rest of both?

What credit card do I get?

For context I have essentially no debt.
Have an 800 credit score.
I have a discover credit card, but I’m wanting one to use for everyday and monthly expenses and then pay off at the end of the month. AND it will get paid at the end of the month! I just want it for racking up any points I could use to be able to travel. Open to any credit cards and multiple ones if one is better to use just for gas and groceries v something else.

Should I be in a deficit or go back into maintenance?

Context: Female, 5’8, 192 lbs
I work out lifting weights at least 3x but mostly 4x a week.
Walk at least 3-4 miles a day
I started last year (2025) at 240 and am now down to 192! I went into a deficit this past January and did that till April, then went into maintenance (2300 calories) until about July. I’ve worked back into a deficit and am at 1600 calories and I’m HUNGRY!! I wasn’t like this before when I went into a deficit, so I’m not sure if I should maybe go up a little?

I know you’re going to be a little hungry, but I have no energy. I eat Whole Foods and am getting at least 150g protein and 25g of fiber each day.
Right now, I do want to build more muscle, but I also want to lean out a little more. Not sure if I should go into a maintenance again for that and then do a surplus and then back into a deficit??

I’ve never done a surplus before, but have heard that’s good to do to build muscle and then when you go back into a deficit, you’ll lean out. If that’s the case and I should do that in the coming months, how much more protein do you normally eat?? Or what would the increase in calories be?

Can my realtor do this?

We recently terminated a contract for a house on Wednesday and the due diligence period ended this past Friday. Our realtor contacted us today (Sunday) with an offer from the sellers. Are they allowed to do this? Just a little irritated as we thought we were done with them, both the sellers and realtor, but then they contact us again about the sellers (finally) wanting to cover things we asked them to. This is in NC if that helps

Could we afford this?

Thinking of buying a home. This home is 325k and seller is paying 5k closing costs. Current tax rate in the town totals to $1.0690 per $100

Our info
Make 75 &50k and year
5k truck loan (325ish a month)
7k student debt ($150 month)
20k in savings (this is my issue and worried we won’t have much left if we buy a home.. but most people don’t)
No other debts

Current rent is 2k and we are able to put 2k into savings each month.
About $2130 gross for one income and 1500 for the second income.
Bills usually come out to 1k a check/2k a month and includes the following below. This is 1k for each of us totaling to 4k a month but we also put extra into the joint savings as a buffer

Checks are split for each of us:
$650 rent
$75 phone
$250 groceries
$80 gas
A little extra goes into our joint checking which makes it a total of $1000 usually each check

Is this realistic? I feel like we need to save more and are okay with that.

Best hack for saving money

Wondering what’s the best hack for saving money. Wanting to buy a home soon and want to have as much saved as possible. Currently have 20k in savings and am able to put 2k a month into savings.
I have 7k in student loans and that’s the only debt I have. Make about 75k a year. Probably should be putting more into 401k but that’s at the minimum since the company I work for doesn’t match it.

How to start a high yield savings account

I want to start saving more money other ways and want to know your thoughts on a HYSA. Unsure exactly how they work and what you get taxed on at the end of the year. Open to other suggestions on how to get savings to grow more than just sitting in my bank account
Also who do you recommend an account with for a HYSA?

Is it worth buying a house in this market?

We currently have about 20k in savings to buy a home, but unsure if that’s enough. It would only be 3% down and realistically only around 320k home. It would be out the outside areas of Charlotte nc, so think Gastonia area. I just don’t know if it’s worth it. We don’t necessarily need a house as we are okay with renting, but it is a goal to own a home eventually. It just seems that the homes in nice areas are priced around 400-425k and we don’t make enough to pay that mortgage + just enjoy life.

Has anyone else had this experience? We are considering pausing the home search and just paying off the little student loans we have and a small car loan and maybe traveling. I just feel like a house really ties you down, but I’m not sure if that’s the case.

Inspection showed the furnace is rusted and leaking and ac is from 2002

Realtor says this is normal.. I’m pretty sure it’s a fire hazard and the inspector said he wouldn’t even turn it on this winter. Ac is from 2002 and not cooling properly. Said it was at a 13?? And the range is like 14-21 I think? Are we thinking too much into this? Don’t think we are comfortable buying unless we are given concessions to fix these things. This would also be our first home.

u/Comfortable_Basil863 — 3 months ago

Should we just rent instead of buying

So for context, we are under contract for a home. Recently the inspection came back with a hail damaged roof, rotted deck, leaking + rusted furnace and a 2002 ac that isn’t cooling properly… still waiting to hear back if they’ll do the repairs (just the report we had to do said repairs, but hopefully they’ll offer money because I’d rather hire our own people). It would also need about $30k in cosmetic updates but that could be done over time. Home is 325k and only offering 5k in closing costs right now.

We aren’t 1000% on this home and are fine with just renting 1 more year but unsure if that’s the right move if they offer money to fix these issues. I just don’t know how they’d get done in time before appraising and closing + we can’t get insurance on a bad roof. Everything is telling me to just back out. The goal is to be closer to family and we are currently about 1 hour away, so not terrible but not convenient. My husband would also have to find another job down that way so he doesn’t have to commute as far.. right now he literally works right across the road. So we are just in a pickle if it’s worth moving closer to family or if we should just stay put. We also enjoy where we live now and with the job market, I worry he won’t find the same pay or even a job for awhile. He’d commute until he found something else.

Maybe it’s just not the right timing for buying a home but wondering if anyone else has been in this situation or have any advice.

Should we buy this house?

We are under contract for a home that’s 320k. We agreed on $325k and they pay 5k in closing costs. Going into it, we knew the deck needed some work and the ac seemed a little old. Had the inspection done today… ac is from 2002 and not cooling properly, roof has hail damage, deck completely rotted, and furnace shows rust and water leaking.
Our realtor hasn’t been great and has been condescending about the whole situation saying this is all normal and that the home warranty will cover it… I don’t really believe that and told her that and she kinda got upset with me and said that she’s never had issues with it… I know we should get new realtor, trust me I know. But we have that agreement we signed.
Regardless we aren’t 100% on the house, if all the things are agreed to be fixed then I guess it would be okay?? The area is great and near family. Needs cosmetic updates inside. We are in the position to buy but we are also fine with renting longer… but then we think about the whole equity aspect of it and continue going back and forth.
We will most likely have to extend the due diligence period given the sellers have to agree to have professionals come and say “yeah that needs to be replaced”

Any advice or suggestions would be great. Just unsure what to do. I told her recently we could just call it quits but then she said to at least give the sellers a chance to fix the things we would like fixed and if not then we walk.
