How the hell are you suppose to leave orders when you can find the customer address?

It happens very rarely. Sometimes you will get an order with a road name and no house number and customer won't answer messages or calls.

Last night pin took me to a dark field and unsafe derelict house which had a different house name with no other houses nearby, again no reply to messages or calls from the customer.

I let the timer run down, choose cant find customer address and it then says to leave in a safe place and take a photo. Last time I did that the customer was able to leave a thumbs down (people saying customers can't leave a thumbs down after the timer runs out is an urban myth), so I'm not doing that again. Support are dumb as f (probably ai or support agents from the country with the lowest iq) with scripted replies ignoring the fact there is no safe location and I'm not going to walk in a dark field at night or leave it there.

Surely they must have a scripted option when it's both an incorrect address and unsafe to deliver?

How are you supposed to leave it when you can't find the address and can't find the customer and it forces you to leave it in a safe place and take a photo?

Other platforms would have cancelled the order, and have done so when rare situations like this have happened in the past, beyond the driver control. All these delivery companies suck, but I can't think of any other job where the support given to their workers (self employed or otherwise) is so unfit for purpose it is as good as being non existent.

When to decide enough is enough?

At what point do you decide enough is enough?

Started the evening by spending £50 to refuel the car and it was not even near empty.

Worked 8 hours and made just over £80 on all three apps. This is including boosts, bonuses and a few low tips, so would have been a hella lot less without those, which is shocking.

I spent more time waiting for deliveries in KFC and McDonalds than I did driving the deliveries.

Two restaurants closed when arriving to pick orders and three customers who did not answer their doors/phone/messages so a lot of unpaid waiting time for countdown timers.

I am trapped. I can't earn enough to get out of doing this to spend time training to do something else. AI is taking over everything anyway, and what I was going to do.

Everything I earn is getting spent on fuel, car repairs and expenses and bills. I can't even afford to eat every day. How do you escape? I can't even quit and go on benefits after being self employed.

Is it even worth existing any more?

Accepting 1 order but then getting 2 orders

I am guessing this is a new bug and has happened twice to me now.

I have had an offer on the screen which has clearly shown and said 1 order to one customer from one restaurant.

After arriving/pickling up I have been given 2 orders from the same restaurant or another pickup from a different restaurant miles away, even though I only accepted 1 order and did not accept any subsequent add on orders.

I have rejected one of them, and been paid the amount shown on the screen. I wonder if this was to happen, and I was to do both if they would pay any extra, or just pay for delivery of one order.

Be careful and watch out for this one!

Do you leave a Voicemail message?

I work late and it's not uncommon to have deliveries where a customer does not answer the door, reply to messages or answers the phone and then have to waste 7+ minutes to wait for countdown timers to expire.

Do you leave a voicemail message for the customer, or do you just hang up when it goes through to voicemail?

Tag scans on food shops

All the local food shops - co op, Morrisons and Sainsbury's have just added tag scanning before collection.

The problem is I now can't see the number of items in the order and what they are until the tag has been scanned. I don't know whether to take a bag, two bags, a trolley or cancel it until I am right at the collection point.

As the items are in sealed or stapled bags I can't check, what is the point of even showing the contents of the order if we can't see it before we are there?

Deliveroos have once again ruined one of its useful features which helped the driver. Ridiculous.

Perhaps the GMB union could get onto this and ask them to change it back to non tag scanning for large supermarkets or change the app so items aren't hidden before the tag scan.

At least on Uber you can see the contents before you even start driving there or heavy orders for Tesco whoosh and have a chance to decide what to do.

Confirm Pickup button when dropping off LAD orders

On the Uber Driver app has anyone noticed when dropping off an order which is Leave At Door / Take Photo that the button now says "Confirm pickup"

Its hella confusing wording.

Cant see map on driver app

Does anyone know if the Just Eat driver app uses phone system font sizes or if there is another option to reduce the font size on the Android app?

When an order offer comes in the order details take up 3/4 of the screen and I can't see the map and pin of where it's going, as the order details use up nearly the whole screen. I never had this issue with my old phone that had a smaller screen and only on this new phone which has a larger screen.
