Band suggestions: Opeth’s first three albums.

Does anyone have any good band recs that are similar to the atmosphere and composition to Opeths early sound? Specifically, Orchid. I love the first three albums.

Nectar, in the mist she was standing, April ethereal, when, forest of October, black rose immortal - are all so perfect, and I’d really enjoy finding a similar essence in a different band. I’ve exhausted these albums, and am looking for something new.

Allow a small rant if you may

If I see one more post in the Luciferian subreddit about someone being horny for Lucifer, I might break my pact with him and abandon the path-working all together.

Sure, banging Luci at the witches sabbath in the middle of the forest may be tradition, but posting about it on Reddit has got to be some sort of crime against humanity. It’s a sacred, dark path for a reason, we’re not supposed to tell anyone about the orgies we have with his servants and pet snakes.

Spank me harder, daddy Lucifer.

Jeez Louise.

Also, if there’s another subreddit where I can complain more about this, please guide me to it.

The women on my mothers side of the family are horrid.

The women on my mom’s side of the family are awful. I thought it was due to the fact that my great grandfather was an air force officer, and a preacher.

My grandmother and my mom yell at everyone for every little thing. They’re so judgmental, mean, and big bullies. I’m still young. Growing up I had thought that I was always doing something wrong, and that they blame everything on sin.

I moved away from home at 18 and have been gone for 10 years. So, with very little contact, traveling, working, and living my own life away from these people - I have healed tremendously.

I came back home for a visit, and I finally realized they’re ugly. My grandma was an ugly duckling and my mom is ugly compared to her older sister. I didn’t fully accept this until my great grandmother who my grandmother is caring for pointed it out. She said “you know they give you a hard time because you’re pretty.”

NO, I DID NOT KNOW THAT GRANNY. THIS WHOLE TIME MY MOTHER TORTURED ME AND GAVE ME HELL BECAUSE SHES A JEALOUS BIRD BRAINED BITCH?

But, it’s true! I went to church with my grandma, and a lady came up to me to tell me I’m “as pretty as a picture.” After Bible study, we went out to eat and a beautiful woman came in with her son: my grandma was going on about how that boy was too old for a diaper (I didn’t see a diaper, and it’s not my child to judge), and how his mamas not taking care of him (the child seemed happy and fine), and how she needs to take parenting classes because when they left she didn’t hold his hand out of the restaurant. Albeit, her son doesn’t have either of his kids and DSS had to get involved for pedo charges. And yet, she has the gall to talk down on someone in public.

And then I realized, her and my mother are vicious to beautiful women and that’s why they have no friends!

NO FRIENDS!

Finding out my family bullied me because I’m pretty is really shocking, and no one’s told me until recently. I always felt so ugly and unwanted, and it’s not fair.

I’ll post this here, since I need to get this off of my chest and do not know where to write about it.

I, F26, hate my mother. She was abusive and neglectful - my sister and I were removed from her care as children. Unfortunately, when I turned 14 my grandmother sent me to live with her as punishment for being difficult - there wasn’t a court order stopping her.

I don’t want to go into too much depth about the abuse I faced as a child/teenager. However, something happened to me between the ages of 5 and 7 before I was removed from my mom’s home that I need to get off of my chest.

My mother let her boyfriend, Jonathan, rape me when I was little, and would drive me to his house just for him to do so. I told my grandmother (my dad’s mother), and Jonathan beat me so hard that I would bleed and have bruises all over me until I learned to “keep secrets.” My mom let him, encouraged it, and would beg me to “forget.” “It’ll be okay, because you’ll forget.” I had to be placed in different elementary schools for a couple of years due to teachers and councilors reporting the bruises and wounds. I was eventually removed from her care.

I went semi-no-contact with her once I turned 18; however, I’d still see her at holiday get-togethers. She married a man four years ago who has a teenage nephew who they bring to these get-togethers. We are not close, but we would chat.

Long story short, he texted me to say that my mother was telling him stories of Jonathan (I’m uncertain if he knows his name, he just said “some man”) beating me until I would bleed and she laughed about it. I know how mom is, and I am almost certain her giggling about it is true.

I struggled in unnatural ways due to being violently raped: hygiene (specifically feminine hygiene), weight, psychosis and other disordered issues as a trauma response.

Quite frankly, I hope my mom dies a horrible death. I hate my mother, and if I were a god I’d strike her down.

I refuse to speak to a therapist. I’ve gone to therapy before in my early twenties, and my grandmother used to take me as a kid when she had custody of me. But, I refuse to talk about it - always have. Probably always will. I used to get mad and scream like a banshee in therapy to get out of talking about it. I learned that the therapist would eventually give up on me, and my grandmother would have to find a new one until she could no longer afford it. Further causing a rift in our relationship.

They’ll never be charged with a crime or punished by some God or by the Law. I don’t need emotional support, or grieving counseling, or anyone listening to a sad story just so I can express my feelings. I’m very expressive, and I spend a lot of time alone reflecting, journaling, and meditating.

I have lost something I will never get back, and nothing I do makes me feel like a winner. I have a physics degree that I earned with blood, sweat and tears on my own. I’ve had wonderful partners, and great friends. I’m fairly pretty, smart, and spunky. However, everyday I still feel like a sore, inadequate loser. I feel like a man overcompensating for his very specific short coming, because I feel as if my mother has won something that I can never win back by taking something so precious away from me. All I can think about is the “audacity.” She ruined something that I had no control over, and then they beat me up for trying to fix it. Then, she laughed about it recently. I have so much to be grateful for, and I have so many people that do care about me. However, this plagues me.

I’ve never truly let it go, because I feel as though I can’t win in this situation. I’m competitive - I played basketball and chess. Was top of my class. So, letting it go is difficult for me simply by nature because I enjoy winning. I don’t consider myself a sore loser; however, I constantly feel like a sore loser.

It’s almost as if being raped and beaten didn’t hurt my feelings, but rather challenged my ego. Everyday I think “what am I going to do about it,” so I played ball, read books, kept up appearances and studied really hard to prove something to someone. The only reason I’ve ever done anything is so I can feel like a winner in my own mind. The thing that has driven me for so long killed my spirit.

I find myself slowly getting over it, and accepting defeat. But, then everything seems pointless and life doesn’t feel worth living. Not because I’m suicidal, but because I’m bored, and irritated. Perpetually irritated like perpetual stew.

Experiences with Pazuzu

Woke up thinking about Pazuzu after a strange dream.

Never been interested. Don’t know anything about him, or his culture. I didn’t even know he was the demon in the Exorcist until this morning after looking into the spirit a bit more. I know of him from that one guy who killed people years ago. He called himself Pazuzu, I believe.

Anywho, if yall are willing, does anyone have any experience with his character? Is he capricious? Another mask of Lucifer, perhaps? Is he kind to curious new comers? How should he be approached?

:)

Help: in need of song title forgot and don’t speak polish

There is this Polish folk song that I used to adore! It’s about three swamp hags that become beautiful on (idk it starts with a K) night and lure men into a pond or a lake to consume their souls.

Please excuse my poor polish, but I believe the song title starts with a B - like Bostła or almost similar to the country Botswana.

I found it listening to w moim ogrodecku but when I go back to the song it no longer recommends and it’s the only polish song I can remember because it’s got a Russian twang (sorry I studied Russian in college and polish is hard).

Thank you!

Iil intro by the XX and cigarettes after sex, what else would I like?

I’ve tried listening to the XX, but I like the music more than I do the vocals and lyrics. Similarly with cigarettes after sex. I like the sound, composition, music, but not the biggest fan of the vocals/lyrics however I prefer CAS over the XX

Any good recs?

For those who practice necromancy with Duke Murmur

Does anyone have any material recommendations for practicing necromancy that Murmur has guided you to or advised you to read? Or how practicing necromancy with him looks for you?

Practitioner of some years now, but aside from demonolatry I am new to necromancy. I found resources online, and I have a book list I’m waiting to invest in.

Long story short, I invoked Duke Murmur to learn about philosophy. Well, now I’m on to bigger and better lessons - like necromancy.

I’m not entirely sure where to start, and it’s the one practice I refuse to “FAFO” in. Murmurs been waiting patiently for me to practice with him, but I have no clue where to start, which sources to trust, or how to be respectful to the craft. I consider necromancy to be quite serious, and I don’t need to make foolish mistakes.
