Smoked a Prime Rib tonight

275 for about three hours. Brought it to 125 then let it rest. This is the first slice from the end. Torched the outside with a propane torch to help char

Star Rover Goodness

First time visit and had a great steak. Plus the salad and onion rings, and the ROLLS gave it a Midwestern supper club feel.

New Shoes today. (MT -> AT)

Went back to BFG 35 AT KO3 from the same MT. The MT definitely look beefier but man the ATs ride so much nicer and quieter. Doing less offroading nowadays and more highway. The ATs for wet weather here in Houston will be far superior.

So many around Home Depot

I guess it's odd (or likely intentional) that there's so many Flock cameras pointing in and around the Home Depot parking lot.

Carpet Stretching in the Woodlands

Anyone have a recommendation for carpet stretching. I don't want a place that is going to upsell and push other services. I have one room that needs to be restretched, but its a bit complicated (at the top of stairs and into hallway).

I smoked a chicken, then turned it into pie.

It was chicken-choking delicious

I built a free app for ranking restaurants around The Woodlands / north Houston on a tier list (hobby project, mods approved this post)

First, the disclaimers up front: this is a hobby, it's free, and I don't make money off it. There's a small banner ad and an optional $1.99 to turn it off, and honestly that covers approximately none of what I put into it — I built it because I wanted it to exist, not as a business. And I checked with the mods before posting so this isn't a drive-by ad.

Okay, the actual thing:

It's called S-Tier Eats. Instead of star ratings — where everything lives in that useless 3.9-to-4.4 range — you drop restaurants into a tier list: S, A, B, C, or F. You keep your own list, and everyone's rankings combine into a community consensus so you can see where locals actually land on a place.

I just pushed a big update and figured this sub might get some use out of it:

  • Cuisine boards — the community's top BBQ, sushi, tacos, burgers, etc., ranked.
  • Top-Rated Near Me — shows the best-ranked spots closest to you right now.
  • Notes — leave a line on why something's an S or an F, and read what others said.
  • Follow friends — build a board from people whose taste you trust.
  • Bigger map — ~3,900 spots now, out to Magnolia, Montgomery, the 1960 corridor, Vintage Park, Cypress, and more.

It runs entirely on what people rank, so it's more useful the more locals pile in. If you've got strong opinions about food around here, I'd genuinely love to see them on the board — especially the honest F tiers.
