[MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls] Fun Platinum with some annoying stipulations

Trophy list railroads you into playing certain modes to unlock a ton of these trophies. Luckily the requirements aren't terrible other than the 500 online matches one.

It's not you Cultic.. it's me..

Unfortunately, I found Chapter 2 to be very underwhelming and disappointing. I didnt have a problem with ammo or the difficulty on hard like others have mentioned. It just felt like such a slog getting through those enormous maps with 1 point of progression surrounded by hundreds of locked doors. I also ran into a bug on Manor that softlocked me, forcing me to restart the level TWICE. If you die too close to picking up a key item and respawn, the item disappears from your inventory, can't be used, and can't be picked up again. This setback put a serious damper on my playthrough, but I still continued on.

The gunfights were still very fun for me, despite some spongy enemies. However, I did roll my eyes toward the end when I would grab an item only to turn around to see that the room I just cleared out was now filled to the brim with enemies again.

Imo Chapter 1 just proves that less is more sometimes. I don't hate Chapter 2. I just didn't jive with some of the creative choices. I love getting through a tough battle by the skin of my teeth. Not so much getting lost and making rounds around an empty map looking for where to go next.

Music slaps, though.

People who carve their name into National Park grounds.

Canyonlands, Utah.

Park Rangers have better things to do that restore these rock faces after some idiot pulls this nonsense.

Haven't turned the Switch 2 on in nearly a year.. anyone else?

So I don't keep up with Nintendo news or anything like that nowadays. I used to watch the directs on the off chance that we would finally get a new mainline Mario announcement, but that ship sailed a long, long time ago. Now, I just keep get the headlines from whatever gaming pages I follow, but even those have been radio silent on anything Nintendo related since Prime 4 dropped to a worldwide-resounding 'meh'. Well, tickle me pink when I saw headlines of a "New Star Fox game".

"NICE", I thought. (Stupidly/foolishly/should've knowbetter-ly)

Nope. Just SF64.. again..

But this news made me sit and think.. I literally have not turned that damn console on in nearly a year.

I'm serious. I got one a few weeks after launch. Played some Mario Kart. Said, "Yep. That's Mario Kart alright", and turned it off before playing Banaza in July. Fun enough, but it's such a one-trick pony. I have no idea how that game got such praise in the gaming community. It was boring as all getout and showed you everything it had to offer within a few hours.

I never even bothered to finish it because it was so mind numbing. Even my non-gamer wife made the comment, "I really don't understand this game at all. Is smashing rocks all you do?" I couldn't even give her a snarky, "You just dont understand, cause you're a GIRL!" She honestly had a point. So I powered it off and figured I'd just wait for the next big release.

So I waited...

Then I waited some more.....

Then after that, I waited...........

Then METROID PRIME 4!!!! (Looked like total shit, so I didnt play it)

And now here we are. Almost a year later. A brand new console sitting on my entertainment center that only gets touched when I have to move it to dust. I have never been a 'Nintendo defender'. I've always known they were lousy, but I always liked the first part titles. I had a ton of fun with Odyssey back in the day, but now here we are in the year 2026 with nothing on the horizon except a remake of a game I played when I was 5 and an online-focused Fromsoft game. (Because Nightreign worked out so well, huh?)

Im just curious. When is the last time you guys *actually* turned on your Switch 2? Because honestly, this has to be the most embarrassing console release I've ever seen.

Edit: Im BAFFLED at just how many Nintendo fans hang out here given the nature of the sub...

Tips to remove broken pin from board?

First time practicing soldering and things were going well until they weren't. I'm replacing a potentiometer on an old Dualsense controller and one of the pins broke off in the board. This is basically just for practice, so not the biggest deal if I can't get it out. I tried turning up the temp, a sharper tip, holding a wick on there longer, but no luck.

Very grindy platinum, but the game itself is fun enough. Definitely get some games in online now if you're interested. I dont see the community being active in this one for very long.

Nothing quite like fighting input reading, projectile spamming, absolutely broken AI for 12 matches... with one health bar. Without a doubt one of the hardest things I've ever done in a fighting game.

Oh boy. Talk about an incredibly frustrating first day.

Things started out really promising! Got all my placement matches and had a fun time, but let me tell you, AS SOON as the ranked matches started I was hit with a seemingly infinite number of DCs. Like clockwork, as soon as you get the winning combo or super, red screen of salt.

No exaggeration, 12 of my last 20 games were all Rage Quits. I am just exhausted to the point where I would rather play the cpu and it's been 1 day. I see the writing on the walls already that this game will not have an active online community for long. I am already struggling to find matches as is. Queue times have averaged 3 to 5 minutes in-between matches, which is abysmal.

It doesn't help that I cant even report these people because they dont show up in my recents or replays because they dont even finish a single match! My profile is showing me only having played 18 matches online when the real number is closer to 40!

I have been around long enough to know that people disconnecting or plugging in the middle of a match is nothing new. But for a game that already has a ton of issues, a toxic online experience will only deter players from sticking around even more. Such a shame, too, because the game has potential.
