Married to a Samoan woman, but i think i chose a narcissist.

Hi everyone,

First, I want to make it clear that I don't judge an entire culture based on the actions of individuals. I love Samoan culture and married into it for that reason. The only reason I'm posting here is because some of the cultural dynamics involved may be better understood by people of Samoan background.

Background

I met my wife 10 years ago, and our relationship moved very quickly. At the time, I was living alone in a house that I rented and valued my independence highly. After several months of persuasion, I agreed to move in with my wife and her father, whose wife had passed away a few years earlier.

Before moving in, I expressed concerns about giving up my home and becoming dependent on living in a house that wasn't mine. I worried that during disagreements I might be told to leave, leaving me with little choice but to comply. I also understood that her father may not have been entirely comfortable with us living together before marriage.

I spoke to my wife about these concerns before moving in. She assured me that she understood what I was sacrificing and promised she would never use the house against me. Unfortunately, during arguments, I was repeatedly reminded that it was her house and told to leave.

A couple of years before I proposed, I discovered that my wife had been texting her ex-boyfriend. She had even changed his contact name to make it appear as though she was communicating with a female colleague.

I was devastated and tried to understand why they were communicating. Whenever I asked questions, I was accused of being negative, insecure, or dwelling on the past, even though the discovery was still very recent.

A few months later, I checked her Facebook search history and discovered that she had been viewing her ex's profile multiple times every day throughout our relationship, including after I had confronted her about the texting. When I demanded an explanation, she told me she was checking whether one of her friends might be involved with him. That explanation never sat right with me.

From that point on, I struggled with feelings of insecurity and doubt. I felt unable to have an honest conversation about the situation because every attempt was met with denial, anger, or accusations that I was imagining things.

Around the same time, my sister-in-law's five children were removed from her care due to severe abuse within the home. My wife stepped forward to care for them because the alternative was for the children to be separated and placed in different foster homes.

At that point, I found myself in a difficult position. I was already struggling with trust issues in my relationship, yet we suddenly became full-time caregivers to five deeply traumatised children while both working full-time jobs.

Walking away would have been the easier option, but I couldn't bring myself to abandon my wife or those children. I stayed and helped raise them, and eventually we got married.

I never resented the children. What I did resent was feeling as though the issues in my marriage were never addressed because all of our energy was devoted to caring for them.

Over the years, I became increasingly convinced that my wife is strongly drawn to certain types of men and that she behaves differently around them. When I've raised these concerns, I've been told that I'm insecure, paranoid, or imagining things.

Whether I'm right or wrong, the result has been the same: I no longer trust my own judgment. I constantly question myself and feel as though my concerns are dismissed rather than discussed.

We spent years raising those children before they were eventually returned to their mother, while the father was imprisoned for his crimes.

What hurts is that my wife often dismisses the sacrifices I made during that period. She says I only stayed because I had nowhere else to go. From my perspective, I gave up my home, my independence, and many years of my life because I loved her and wanted to support both her and the children.

Hearing that my commitment was simply a matter of convenience feels incredibly unfair.

Recently, one of the nieces told me her phone had broken. I bought her a replacement because I wanted to help.

When I told my wife, she responded by saying that buying gifts for a teenage girl could make me look like I was trying to groom her.

That comment hurt deeply. I helped raise that child from a young age and have always treated her like family. To have my intentions questioned in that way felt insulting and painful.

After everything that has happened, I've lost a lot of confidence in myself. I struggle to speak openly around family members because I constantly feel judged or foolish.

I love my wife very much, and despite everything, I don't want to leave her. Divorce is not something I want.

What I wanted was a normal marriage where we could focus on building our own life together and eventually have children of our own. My wife knows how important that is to me, which is why it hurts when she says things like:

"God will never bless you with your own children until you change the way you are."

There is much more to this story, but this post is already long enough.

I suppose what I'm really asking is this: Am I genuinely seeing problems that need to be addressed, or have years of conflict and self-doubt caused me to lose perspective? How would you approach a situation like this?

What is up with Rockstar teaming up with Netflix?

Its really odd for them to pull such a move....having an exclusive look into the game, only available via a paid streaming platform. Whats wrong with keeping it old school by uploading directly to youtube?

Or perhaps this is their way of preventing leaks happening before the 27th? I mean what is this exclusive "extended look" going to be exactly? Behind the scenes footage? Or just a 10 minute gameplay trailer?

Dont get me wrong im bloody excited for it, but at the same time something feels off about the whole thing.

I have a feeling that Rockstar may have removed the random acts of violence that we all love from the previous games. Imagine a GTA where you weren't allowed to run up to an unsuspecting granny, and beat her to a bloody pulp, just because you felt like doing so.

With rockstar pulling these sort of moves, it makes me wonder if their trying to amp us up so the blow wont hurt as bad when we realize that NPCs all have an invisible force field around them.

With HD graphics, I doubt they would get away with having such a violent game, not without most countries banning it, especially if the game is based on a real life US state.

Ive been saying this since RDR2 dropped. RDR2 was no doubt one big testing ground for GTA6, and there were a couple missions in red dead where you weren't allowed to use weapons or commit violence crimes, this was purely driven by the narrative of the story at that particular stage of the game...but what if GTA6 is like this, but for the entire game?

It seems they are leaning more towards realism this time around, so pulling your gun out will nilly in public places just wouldnt make sense if an entire swat team wasnt going to swarm you before you had a chance to fire your weapon.

I believe Jason is definitely an undercover cop, and this will be Rockstars way of using the story for why you cant commit random acts of violence in free roam. When in reality its purely to adhere to censorship laws of the soft world that we live in.

I hope im wring about all of this, but dont be surprised if you cant drive the busy sun soaked beaches at 100mph

Best software to create this?

Im not trying to create something identical, however i need to create an entertainment hub like this one. Its for a personal project, i have revit but it seems like a nightmare for interior design work....getting grooved panels etc doesnt seem possible without spending the time learning and creating custom families. Is there an easier worksround?

Correct texturing workflow with revit

Hey all,

First of all, im no architect, im simply a Carpenter trying to design a project for my own house.

Iv designed my floor plan etc, however, i cant figure out how to ad specific materials to a wall. For example, i want a V-groove panel on a few of my walls, but the Revit libraries dont contain what im looking for.

Iv tried downloading the revit files from manufacturers websites but the files only contain a spec sheet and a couple two-dimensional texture planes with vertical lines representing the grooved look im after.

I want the materials to react realistically to light as i will be rendering in D5 or Twin motion, so im guessing the textures would have to be PBR?? But you obviously cant just load PBR textures into Revit.

Whilst i realize i could use wall sweeps/reveals to achieve the desired look, i dont really want spend that much time on learning the ins and outs of creating custom families within Revit.

I could also just build in situ, without the frustration of learning this overwhelming software, but its beneficial in the long haul for future projects. Also it may encourage my wife to give the green light on anything i want to build if i could present a visual of my ideas

Im a far better carpenter than I am a designer, so i dont really know or understand the correct workflow for going from floor plans to final render. I spend so much wasted time on trying to texture things that I dont make any worthwhile progress on the project as a whole. if someone could kindly walk me through it, would be greatly appreciated.

Where can i buy HPL sheets from?

Hey guys,

Well im in the process of doing our kitchen and im on the hunt for some sheets of HPL, but it seems like local suppliers only sell to kitchen manufacturers.

Im not fond of particle board, and buying a stone benchtop is well out of my budget. I was thinking of glueing 2x sheets of 18mm ply together and applying a sheet of HPL with some edge banding, but cant find anyone willing to sell to me.

I have seen plenty of PVC UV Marble Stone board, however, and i know its marketed as a wall liner for bathrooms etc, but but i dont see why it couldn't be used for a bench. The only thing is that i dont think it would be as scratch resistant as HPL, but i could coat it with a protective (food friendly) clearcoat or something.

Iv left a link for the PVC sheets im referring to.

What do you guys think?

Game features locked behind a pay wall?

Hey all.

well after checking out the game prices on Playstation store, i was shocked to find that certain in-game stores and possibly a few extra missions/random encounters will only be available in available in the ultimate edition.

The information is a bit vague on Rockstars website, like if you buy the standard edition, can you still customize your appearance and vehicles, at places that aint locked away behind a pay wall?? Maybe vehicle customization is exclusively for the Ultimate edition...many folk on social media believe that there will be other workshops for car customization, but how do we know? Its not very clear what exactly you will miss out on in the standard edition.

All in all, it doesnt really bother me too much, because i will happily give Rockstar my $174 for the ultimate edition, but i just think its a bit odd for Rockstar to make a move like this...i mean normally the only difference between the ultimate and standard editions is just a few guns, weapons or items of clothing, things that make no real difference to the overall gameplay. But this time around it seems that they are locking away actual game features, like theres also a classic car collectors mission/mini game that wont be available in the standard edition. its a smart approach from a business perspective, because it gives the illusion that your actually buying something of value, as opposed to in-game cosmetic nonsense.

Does becoming Meta verified up your chances of having an actual conversation with an actual human?

Well my meta business account got hacked back in 2023 and the person locked me out of all admin roles. I dont have a business so I didnt bother fighting with that silly little AI chatbot, as the hack had no impact on my personal Facebook account....or so i thought!!

Since 2023 Meta has put a block on my business account for "suspicious activity" and every time i raise the issue, all I receive is stupid responses asking me to click some link which leads to to Facebook help page informing me to contact Business Support, which i had done and ended up at the same damn place, talking to that sam damn Ai bot.

The reason im trying to rectify these issues now after all this time is because iv recently started a side hustle which was initially going bloody amazing, but then all clicks on marketplace and messaging abruptly came to a halt.....ive tried deleting all listings for 5 days, reposted with all new pictures, and still absolutely nothing.

Spoke to the chatbot specifically about my marketplace issues and it advised me that there is a marketplace access block on my account from the 17th (3 days ago) for spammy behavior, which is absolutely nonsense as i still had my listing removed at this point. Then the Ai bot went on to say that the marketplace issues are linked to my suspicious Meta business account activity, from 2023.

Mentioning that my account got hacked is useless, because i just get told to go to the Facebook/hacked page and follow the prompts....but this page is ONLY for when you have totally lost access to the point you cant even log in.

When i got hacked, there were a few dodgy ad campaigns created and 10 thousand dollars spent on ads. This wasnt my money, however, the hacker removed myself as an admin and setup their own payment method with a credit card which doesnt belong to me.

So moving forward, running out of options I decided to pay for Meta Verified just so i can access their "top tier" customer support. While I wait for the verification process do its thing, can anyone tell me if i would have much luck being a verified member? I plan to cancel the membership once i speak with customer support regarding my issue.

Edit: for anyone wondering why i didnt follow up the hacked account 3 years ago when it happened: i never really tried to use the meta business tools up until last year, so this is when I discovered it, and contacting support was just as hopeless then as it is now

Facebook put restrictions on a 1 day old account!!

Well my previous account the iv had for 13 years and i got hacked back in 2023, the person who hacked my account and paid 10 thousand dollars in Meta advertising, wasnt my money, they used a debit card that didnt belong to me...possibly a stolen card??

Well anyway after recently trying to start up my side hustle, i decided to try my luck once again with Facebook/help, however, because the hacker removed myself as an admin, facebook will not help me because i dont have admin access to request the help....its fucking absurd.

I believe that the dodgy meta ad campaigns are directly related to my marketplace engagement drastically dropping over night, so i decided to create an entire fresh account and start from scratch.

All was good for the first 5 hours and already made 20 sales, but then all engagement abruptly cut off. I asked the stupid facebook bot if i have any marketplace restrictions on my account, and it confirmed i do and wont bloody elaborate on what terms and conditions i supposedly broke.

This is absolutely stupid, because when i check my account health under settings it states that i have full access to marketplace.

Im starting to think that the Ai chat bot just blurts out unfiltered nonsense however it sees fit, based on the question you ask.

And why on earth is it impossible to get hold of a real person? No email address or anything!! Iv asked the chatbot to put me through to a customer service rep and all it says is "please wait a few minutes while i connect you".....a whole hour has gone by and theres still nothing.

Iv lost admin rights to my personal ad account.

Well i was recently going through my meta ads account and noticed that the account is disabled since 2023, due to breaking their terms and conditions. I installed meta ads manager for a bit more insight on the issue, and i discovered that my ad account has spent a total of ten thousand dollars, multiple micro-transactions between $80-$150. These transactions are not from my personal debit card though, someone has obviously hijacked my account and added their own payment method, possibly a stolen card? To make matters worse is that they have removed myself as an admin, so i literally cant do anything to rectify this since you need to be an admin to request an account restrictions review.

After digging through the facebook/hacked pages i came across a section that says "this section is for hijacked accounts that have had admin rights removed" I click the submit button and im greeted with a message which says "you cannot proceed as your not an admin of any page"

Seriously? Facebook is so fucking broken and it seems impossible to get hold of a real person. Like they literally offer help for hijacked admin accounts, but turn around and say im not able to get help because im not an admin. This is so fucking stupid its laughable.

Im so close to deleting my facebook account and starting fresh, but then again, it probably wont allow me to delete the meta account because IM NOT AN ADMIN.

Well I have a number of account issues so I will try to break it down as best as i can:

I have never really bothered with Meta ads and whatnot up until recently when i tried to create a profile that i could potentially monetize. I have a red mark next to my personal account in the Meta Business Suite which says my account has restrictions and i cant use it to run ad campaigns. This is no real direct problem because it allows me to create and use a second meta profile to use for ads etc, however, after viewing the payment history iv noticed that there has been hundreds of dollars worth of transactions dating as far back as 2023. I did not make any of these transactions, and they are from a debit card number that doesn't belong to me.

I cant request to have my account restrictions reviewed and lifted because the "request review" button is greyed out, informing me that i cant request a review due to not having administrative rights over my own account, and i must ask the account admin. So it seems that my account was hacked at some point and im stuck in this repetitive loop of talking to a facebook chatbot that never puts me through to a real person.

The second issue is unrelated, well at least i think it is.

I have been selling items on FB marketplace recently, and its an item that sold incrediblly well to the point of making 200 sales the first week. I eventually ran out of stock so i ordered more and threw them up on MP.....I got absolutely no responses at all, and i knew something was up because there was no way i could go from having literally hundreds of responses a day to absolutely zilch overnight. I contacted that silly chat bot on the FB help page and it said there's a restriction on my account from 2 days prior and i dont have 2 factor authentication enabled, adding to the lack of marketplace reach. I didnt believe this whatsoever, but i enabled the authentication crap in my settings anyway and began getting sales again 3 days later, but nothing like i was getting before.

I spoke to the chat bot again and it thanked me for enabling 2factor authentication then went on to say there is still a restriction on my account...but will not elaborate on what has caused the restriction, its just a blanket "you have a restriction on your account, and thats that"

Furthermore i have also spoken to the chatbot in regards to the Meta issue and it keeps referring me back to that fucking "request review" button in the Meta settings. But i cant do anything with that damn button as iv had my admin rights removed without my knowledge.

This shit is driving me insane because theres no email or any way to contact a real person. Its fucking bonkers.

Any help/advice is greatly appreciated
