I'm looking to buy a late Victorian house and the chimney breasts have been blocked off and none of them have air vents in. Should they to allow some air movement? What could happen if they don't? On the ground floor, one looks like it has a large patch of moisture/damp on the inside near the ground level that's filtered through and stained the paint - could this this the explanation?
EA just sent me an email which states:

Isn't this an unfair term that belongs in the 90s? A KYC check is, what, £4? I can't even understand the wording - is it before passing on the offer, or after the offer is accepted?
Once the offer is accepted, then surely their job is just to 'hurry' the sale along?
I viewed a house in England and about a week later put a cash offer down. I was in the EA office the day before I made the offer and someone in the background offered a viewing on that house to someone on the phone.
When I put the cash offer down, I got an email "another offer on the table" after I offered asking - 9k Then they tell me vendor wants asking - 4k. I think and offer -6k. Then they respond the vendor "as per my last email" wants -4k but will ask the vendor... So annoyed, I offer it. Then about 30 mins later I get a call stating the other offer was "strong" but vendor wants "best and final" from both... so I increase to what was ultimately asking -2k.
I feel screwed and seriously doubt that there really was another offerer. Especially as they called me up rather than emailed. The EA never told me whether the offer was less, equal, or more than mine. And considering they were offering viewings the day before, I seriously doubt another offer went in hours before mine - I offered about 11am.
I mean, it was accepted, but e.g. homeowners alliance (which I based my initial offer on) was asking - 12k.
So, can EAs lie about "another offer is on the table" to manipulate the offerer into increasing? Doesn't it come under the consumer and unfair trading act now?

There's a new version out - 1.18.17, upgrade and start new sessions. I tried to compact with previous dead sessions but it wasn't having it. Starting a new session seemed to fix it.
Lots of reports on github about this, and it seems to be that once it started a compaction loop it ran in to some error and died.
If you're working with a compiled language, it's more difficult to use multiple agents to work on different tasks because of compile collisions that fail due to another agent part-way through changing code.
How do you all manage multiple parallel sessions that can run safely and without collisions? I've come across baton but get the feeling that isn't the whole story.
So I like to read the thinking text as it adds important context. But when OC is spitting out lots of text, it auto scrolls down as the content keeps coming. Can I prevent this so that if I scroll up to a portion, the autoscroll downwards is stopped? Is there some option I need to disable?

The big jobs need doing as there's so much water ingress that has been eroding away the fabric of the building (masonry and timbers) and happening for decades. Seller is asking for price as if it's a walk-in/drop-bags property. These jobs can be budgeted for, but fixing the damage that isn't totally visible can't. I like it and want it but prepared to walk away. And this is just what I've noticed myself without any pro reports.
I think it's going to be a money pit - but from what I can read, is common to period property owners - the owner is clueless as to the specific care that's necessary for early victorian properties.
I feel like a sod giving an offer of a more reasonable price as the seller is such a nice person but it's been on the market nearly a year and their last purchase fell through due to their sale falling through (the survey report was somehow surprising to the buye). But this vendor only sees that they were prepared to give asking, so I think they're welded to it.
