Cerakote and fishing lures

Hi! In my search for "The One" clear coat I came across Cerakote. I have heard of it before but always thought it was for pricey guns and fishing reels. I am particularly interested in the MC2200 and MC 156/7 for more expensive lures. I mostly use UV resin for my lures but it has limitations and I am getting over the high build gloss of UV resin and 2K epoxies. The low build of cerakote and hardness and durability are very appealing., as is the 1k application.

I would like to know how unsafe it is to use. My study/studio opens up into the kitchen and living area and my spray booth has 140ft3/min airflow after static pressure. I do not have a basement or garage, and outside has only 4 months of the year when I have conditions suitable for spraying 2K clears. I can't find info wrt to fumes, health concerns etc besides obvious things like "wear a respirator". Also what are the humidity limitations? I live in coastal South Carolina FYI and am thinking of creating an outside spray booth with explosion proof fan that can move much more air than my quite inside set up.

Looking for an airbrush hose a bit thicker than standard

I am looking for an airbrush hose that is thicker than the standard ones A 1/4" ID and 8ft long should work. However most I see are for workshop use are a bit too industrial which would make handling clumsy around a spray booth. Fittings should be 1/4" NPT threads preferably.

This will be a dedicated hose for a Bink Wren #B airbrush which has a 1.4mm equivalent nozzle and needs 30psi for Autoborne Sealer Silver and flakes. (I did not buy it for the listed price. $35 off ebay)

Can't ID this lure

Neighbor gifted me a box of old lures. I've identified the others but this one has me stumped. Has #11 on the back.

Also 2 jigging/lipless baits that look pretty old.

Salt water grade swimbaits?

Hi! i am looking to get into hard swim baits for salt water fishing. Which lures would be able to handle fish like tarpon, cuberas etc without breaking? I'm in South Carolina but travel a bit. Have a trip to Gabon at the end of the year, and it would be nice to pack a few in. I paint lures for myself and the local market so swimbait blank recommendations are very welcome.

Tape vs Masking fluid?

Hi! I am repainting this monster lure for my neighbor and he wants a mackerel design in red and black. I would need to create a one off design and can't decide if using masking tape or fluid would be the best way forward.

Edit: I want to cut out the stripes. They are complicated.

For those that don't know, mackerel stripes run on both the sides and back so a flat stencil would not work. They are also very clean solid intricate lines so hand painting won't give me the result I want. I might want to add some black glitter or mica on top of the black lines.

Any advice would be appreciated! I want to do a great job as I get free fishing trips on his boat 40 miles offshore $$$$

+7ft sandbar shark

Caught a 7-8ft sandbar shark in 160ft of water. Pretty sure it was the same shark that was taxing us hard. Hit the jig on the 1st pitch, hooked perfectly in the scissors. Heavy fight for 15 minutes but decided to cut line after the 3rd time I had it by the boat.

I was very impressed how well my basic spj outfit handled. Just let the reel do the work, not the rod. Honestly I didn't have many options.

Rapala Magnum 26 repaint advice

My neighbor would like me to repaint this lure to his favorite color scheme. The rivets holding the lip show some corrosion. Should I remove the lip and attach afterwards? Is the lip glued or epoxied in?

Tarpon from the beach question

Starting late last summer I've been trying to catch a tarpon from the beach at https://maps.app.goo.gl/Jos334KRCCpjVbyy9 . It is a marginal area for tarpon due to no hard structure. However its 2 minutes from home and I am now seeing them regularly on the right tide and time. 50% of the time they are out of casting distance.

I am using a 12ft 2-4oz rod with Twinpower 10000, PE3 mainline to 18' PE6 casting leader and 80lb Varivas mono leader. Pic is what was in the bag this morning. Some of them are painted by me. I do like sinking pencils for their casting distance and ability to work the water column.

My question is what retrieves with which lures would you use if the tarpon are spread out and the visibility is 0-4ft? The tarpon are in the 30-60pd range.

I'm aiming for current seams as that is where I'm seeing them but also doing a lot of blind casting. I do have quite a few other lures.

Glitter Pumps- what size glitter?

Hi! I would like to know what size glitter is used in dry glitter pumps? This is not for decorating cakes, but for fishing lures. I'm looking for alternative ways to apply metallic flakes without spending $$$ on a dedicated dry flake gun, and not making a huge mess.
