Lincoln

Any other Navy vets worried for the women on the Lincoln? SA in the Navy is high in the best of times, but I just know there are people taking out their pain on their female shipmates right now, and I wish there was something I could do about it.

Diagnosis?

I had a diagnostic laparoscopy on Tuesday. The surgeon said he didn’t see any apparent endometriosis, but this pathology shows up in my app. I haven’t gotten a phone call to discuss anything. Is this a diagnosis?

AITAH for hitting my boyfriend's friend when I saw him cheating at the club?

I (25F) went with my boyfriend (26M) and his friends to the club for his friend's (26M) birthday. The said friend has a girlfriend, who I'm not very close to but I'd consider her a friend. The girlfriend had gone overseas to go back to uni about a week before her boyfriend, so she wasn't able to make it to this clubbing session.

The clubbing and dancing was fun until I saw my boyfriend's friend dancing and grinding on a girl, with his hand on her waist, a girl who is also part of the same friend group. For some reason he had hidden the fact that he has a girlfriend from the girls in the group for the past 1.5 years, so she wouldn't have known he had a girlfriend. Seeing that really sent me into a spiral and my boyfriend and I had to step out because I started crying. I just felt so horrible for his girlfriend and this was just so disappointing. I proceeded to drunkenly cry and scream outside of the club because I couldn't believe what I saw, kinda causing a public nuisance but it was already 2am at that point and everyone there was leaving from the club anyway.

When we went back in after I calmed down a bit, I saw him just waiting outside the washroom area, in my direct line of sight while walking back to our table. I don't really know what came over me, maybe the rage, but I just swung at him and hit him in the cheekbone, not sure if it was a really hard punch since I'm just 105 lbs and I was pretty drunk anyway. He was shocked and my boyfriend explained to him what I saw. The friend then started frantically telling me that he "wasn't gonna do anything", he "didn't do anything", over and over again.

The girl he was grinding on exited the toilet, saw the commotion and was confused, probably. I hugged her and said I was sorry for everything but I was gonna leave for tonight. She's really nice, honestly, she didn't know anything and was probably led on by the cheating scumbag.

We left the club and after a while, the girl messaged me asking if I was okay, that she heard I punched the guy and she thought I was being protective of her. I vaguely replied with "It wasn't you, don't worry, get home safe". I'm assuming he's still lying to her about him having a girlfriend already.

I still haven't heard from anyone since then, nobody in the friend group reached out to me, nobody confronted me at all. I have not exposed the cheating to the girlfriend yet, even though I really want to, because of my boyfriend's wishes. My boyfriend is now really upset at me for causing a scene, shouting in public, and inciting violence, and he is really distraught from this situation. I've apologized to my boyfriend, but I've had no contact with anyone else yet.

Am I the asshole for possibly ruining my boyfriend's entire friend group? He's had this group of friends for like 15 years and he's really close to them. He says nobody is blaming him or mad at him but they likely wouldn't be as close anymore.

5 year old ear tubes

My 5 year old son failed his hearing test at his well check and was referred to audiology, where he failed two subsequent hearing tests. They sent us to ENT, who said he had retracted ear drums, and recommended the ear tube surgery. Has anyone else gone through this procedure around this age? How did your kids handle it? We had several friends get tubes when they were much younger for repetitive ear infections, but my child never had that issue. Any tips to help him prepare ahead of time, or recover after would be much appreciated!

VRE EAA Delay

Hello, I recently graduated after having used VRE for my bachelors. I’m searching for jobs now, with little luck. I sent in the form in June but got no reply. I just heard from my counselor this month that he was on an extended leave and so was unable to process my June job log. I sent him my July log and he said it wouldn’t be due until August, and I would not receive the second payment until then. Does this sound right? I told him the June payment was missed due to his error, not mine, and I would rather have the payment processed asap for June and July rather than July and August. Any tips for moving this are greatly appreciated, I’m a little behind financially due to the lack of June payment and some surgeries coming up for several family members.

Diagnostic laparoscopy tips

Hello, I (36F) just learned today that I may have endometriosis, my doctor scheduled a diagnostic laparoscopy for Aug 4. He mentioned some gas can get trapped and cause shoulder pain, how did you deal with this? I’m hopeful to find a cause for my irregular and painful periods, especially since the last few months I’ve had diaphragmatic pains every time I breathe on my cycles. Any tips for recovery are very appreciated!

Starting Over

It’s been quite a while since I’ve run (lots of ankle injuries, including a surgery for a torn ligament), so I started a first 5k plan today: walk 3 min, run 1 min x6. Unbearably slow right now, but I’m hoping to build up mileage slowly and remain injury free this time around!

I opened the app today to double check the location of an appointment and saw a pop up for evidence request, but when I clicked the button for claims nothing shows up. I have not had a claim for 3 years. Any ideas what this could be?
