Been having intense stomach spasms for a week now that won't stop.

Hey all, so I have IBS mixed, and have had it a long time. I have had so many bad IBS spells in my life, but whatever is going on with me over the past week is seriously starting to get to me.

Last Sunday, August 9th, I was out doing yard work. It was hot, I was very thirsty, and was very cautious of not drinking anything too cold, or too fast as it usually causes me to have diarrhea.

Well I guess I failed at doing so, because once I was all done and sitting down to "relax", my stomach started spazing out violently for hours. Usually this is accompanied by diarrhea, but somehow I managed to avoid that part.

However, since then, nothing has been right.

I keep having those same stomach spasms that are super intense, and make me feel like diarrhea is imminent. This week it's been so bad, it's even woke me up from sleeping.

It all came to a head on Friday night when I ate a little too much chocolate. I was having a sugar crash because I haven't been eating that much due to my stomach feeling so terrible.

The chocolate wound up throwing me into an IBS episode with doubled over cramps, nausea, and diarrhea.

Once the diarrhea subsided, I kept feeling like I had to go, but nothing would come out, and eventually wound up having a really bad bout of trapped gas.

For hours I couldn't even stand up straight because the pressure in my stomach was too intense.

That finally calmed down, but again, the stomach spasms persisted for the rest of the day.

I felt terrible all weekend, but yesterday I finally ate some proper food instead of picking at crackers and toast.

After eating my food, I felt like diarrhea was coming, again, and I also wound up with bad heartburn.

I felt sick to my stomach for the rest of the day. Overly full, nauseous, and just awful.

Right before I went to sleep, I felt really hungry, but also sick to my stomach at the same time. It felt like the spasms had turned into hunger gurgles which was encouraging. Shortly after that, I went to sleep.

I woke up a few hours later feeling sick to my stomach once again. Figured it was hunger so I ate a few slices of plain bread.

Well the spasms came right back, as well as a burning acid stomach.

2 hours later, I'm on the toilet with diarrhea, again...

I am beyond frustrated. Idk if this is my IBS, possibly gastritis, a bug, or whatever. I've had spells of diarrhea before in the past that lasted weeks, but never with these intense stomach spasms.

I used to take Dicyclomine 10mg for situations like this, but had to stop because they were causing me to have the worst vertigo spells I have ever experienced in my life. They were debilitating.

I've asked about any kind of alternative medicine I could take to replace it, and my doctor told me if one did that, all the other ones available probably will too.

I'm so frustrated. I'm very underweight, and have been trying to gain weight back, but then stuff like this happens, I hardly eat, and wind up making things worse.

Has anyone else here ever been in a similar situation before? If so, what did you do about it?

I'm kind of desperate for advise if I'm being honest, so any advice/insight here would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know what to do next.

Hey all, so I am now in year 3 of dealing with this stuff.

I have been really trying my best to fight this thing, but no matter what I try, it just keeps prevailing.

I need to get out of this house. My physical health is starting to fail me. My IBS issues are getting out of hand, I'm very underweight, constantly weak, constantly nauseous, you name it.

I need to see a doctor and get tests done, but I feel so overwhelmed.

I currently have a psychiatrist, and she has prescribed me numerous medications now, and I've either been too afraid to take some, some don't work enough, or they make things worse.

She wanted me to start therapy again the last time we spoke a few months ago, which I was reluctant to do since my last 2 experiences of being in therapy for Agoraphobia were horrible, but I did agree to give it a go.

I spoke to this new therapist for 3 weeks, and gave up because this guy totally dismissed everything I brought up to him. He wanted to ignore my panic attacks, and the fact I have been home for 3 years without being able to leave because he said "it didn't meet my criteria" somehow, and instead wanted to talk about something I mentioned in passing that happened 11 years ago, that is not a significant issue anymore at all.

I told my psychiatrist it wasn't working out with him, and that I wanted to transfer to someone new, and she agreed to allow me to do so, and said that I would get a call soon about a transfer, but that never happened.

Since we last spoke, I learned that I will be losing my Medicaid insurance come the new year. So now I don't know what to do.

Do I continue to speak to my psychiatrist and get on a medication that I'll probably have to get off of in a few short months? Is it even worth it at this point?

I feel totally hopeless, and my mom in specific is not helping matters.

She's trying to force me to go back to school, or get a job. Look, I get it, and I understand that I need to do something, but I can't even talk on the phone with a doctor for 15 minutes, in the comfort of my own home without totally having a panic attack.

There's no way I would reliably be able to work either on school, or a job feeling like this. If I was able to manage that a bit better, I wouldn't be so worried about it, but I just don't think I can handle that load of stress right now.

My mom just keeps berating me about it though. Telling me that if I don't do this, I am going to die.

I am sick and fucking tired of my mom telling me I'm going to die from this stuff. That's all I have been hearing for the last 3 years "YOU NEED TO DO SOMETHING NOW OR YOU'RE GOING TO DIE!!!".

It's this constant, the sky is falling, the floor is crumbling beneath you bullshit that I already know and understand.

I know to the normal person how ridiculous this all looks. As someone living through it, it's ridiculous. I still don't understand how I was totally fine one day, then like this the next with no warning.

I'm in this overwhelmed panic now because I feel like I have all this shit I have to do, and if I don't get better in the next few months here, I will be well and truly fucked.

In a lot of pain, and feeling very sick.

Hey all, not censoring anything, so TW.

I'm sorry for posting so much this past week, I don't know what is going on with me anymore, but my body is just going haywire this week.

I made a post a few nights ago about having bad cramps, diarrhea, nausea, the whole gamut. The nausea and diarrhea lasted for about 5 hours, I had a brief break, then my stomach just kept having intense spasms.

Later that day in the afternoon, I had such bad trapped gas, I couldn't even stand up straight, or breathe properly. That lasted for another 6 hours in it's intense state, and I felt like it could come back at any moment for the remainder of the day.

So for over 24 hours, I was in pure hell.

I got up this morning feeling slightly better, but still off. Very weak (definitely from not eating), dizzy, kind of gassy still, headache, and mildly nauseous.

I decided to test the waters and eat some crackers. I got a little more gassy, but knew I needed to eat something, so I finished the small sleeve of crackers I had.

Later in the afternoon, I had some more crackers, and had 1 small piece of chocolate because I could feel my blood sugar tanking.

Again, didn't really feel any worse after eating that, so I figured maybe I was in the clear and would be okay.

A few hours later I decided to take a nap, so I put my heating pad on, and fell asleep for a few hours.

When I woke up, I had this intense, sharp pain in my stomach and waist, and could feel I was super full of gas again.

After I got up, this pain kept coming and going. I still can't tell if it's like a muscular pain or not, because my ribs feel tender to the touch, and sensitive. Like I don't want anything touching that area. It's all across too, not in one specific area.

Also, my throat feels terrible. I feel like I want to heave/gag, but I've been resisting the urge to do so. I also have been having waves of nausea along with this.

I've been trying to take it easy, and distract myself, but things are getting worse.

I took a shower, and right before I got in, a massive gas cramp hit me, and I wound up shooting out nothing but mucus.

While I was in the shower, I could feel I had a tonsil stone in my throat, so once I got out, I went to take care of that, and anytime I do, it makes me violently gag.

After I calmed myself down, I gargled with water, and while doing so, felt like someone stabbed me in the stomach.

It's in the dead center of my upper stomach, radiating both up into my chest, and down into my waist.

This is beyond ridiculous at this point. I'm so physically, and mentally worn out from being in consistent pain, and distress for the last few days.

I know I need to see a doctor, and I know you guys aren't doctors either. But what does this sound like to you guys?

Just gas? Possibly a virus? I will say, allergies are high here already, so I'm thinking maybe this is my histamine intolerance kicking into gear for the season (yay...).

My mom has been complaining of similar symptoms for the last few days as well, but not nearly as bad.

Again, I know you guys don't have all the answers, and can't tell me anything definitively, but I just wanted to vent my frustrations, and possibly get some opinions.

Frustrated beyond belief.

Hey all, not censoring words, so TW.

So I really don't know what's going on with me, but over the last month now, I've really been struggling with not feeling well.

I have been having really bad back pains, that also cause stomach pains, and as a result of this, I'm not eating right again, and I'm also not sleeping right.

I can't really take painkillers. Even a low dose of acetaminophen is enough to upset my stomach on a good day, so I've been trying to help my back pain with other methods such as a massage gun, sleeping in different positions, and also sleeping with a heating pad on.

Well because my stomach has also been upset, I've been using the heating pad for that too.

Almost every night for the last month, I have been using my heating pad. I always leave it on the lowest setting, and I feel good when I fall asleep, but then a few hours later, I wake up feeling overheated, in pain, and sick.

This just happened about an hour and a half ago. I woke up feeling like my blood sugar bottomed out, and sweating.

So stupidly, I got up, and quickly ate a few handfuls of chocolate. Fast forward about 30 minutes, and I start feeling very nauseous, my stomach starts gurgling really violently, and I'm filling up with gas.

Eating that chocolate threw me into an IBS attack.

I am now having diarrhea, and also acid reflux from this all, and am now panicking.

I know this is from eating too much candy on an empty stomach. I didn't really eat anything yesterday other than some chocolate and crackers because I was up all night last night as well not feeling well. I felt like I was coming down with the flu cause I stirred something up in my attic, and my stomach was really aching last night too.

I'm sitting here right now, and feel like I'm going to cough, and or gag, stomach hurts, back hurts, and I have this awful sweet taste coming up my throat.

I'm just so frustrated. I'm tired of not being able to sleep, not being able to eat properly during the day, which then breaks and I gorge myself on junk only to make myself feel like this later, and I'm tired of being afraid.

Now I'm going to be up all night dealing with feeling sick, and fighting the urge to panic.

I genuinely am terrified I'm going to puke tonight from eating too much sugar, because I feel awful right now, and each time I have to go to the bathroom, I feel a little worse. Ugh.

Follow up from last night. Things are getting worse now.

Hey all, not censoring words so TW.

I made a post last night talking about how I was feeling really sick and was frustrated about it.

Well I wound up staying up until 5am feeling sick to my stomach the whole time.

I forced myself to eat some saltine crackers, and a few pieces of rye bread, but that didn't help.

All night my stomach was gurgling, cramping up, I kept getting these quick but intense waves of nausea in my stomach, I kept having this gaggy feeling in my throat, and also a burning in my chest.

I figured I was possibly having an acid flare up as well as an IBS flare, but idk honestly.

I finally fell asleep around 5am, and woke up this afternoon feeling better than I did last night, but still not entirely right.

I woke up with a headache, and dizziness so bad I thought it was going to be a migraine, but that seems to have calmed down.

My stomach still didn't feel great, but I did want to eat something. I know it probably wasn't the smartest thing to do, but I had a small cosmic brownie. That's it, that's all I've eaten since I woke up.

About an hour later, I felt something hit my stomach wrong, and like diarrhea was brewing. 20 minutes later I start feeling really dizzy and nauseous. So now I'm panicking.

I go to the bathroom, and sure enough, diarrhea.

I'm sitting here now, my stomach is burning a bit, same with my chest, I'm dizzy, and nauseous, and really worried I'm actually going to be sick here now, because dealing with this for over 24 hours is draining me.

I'm hoping it was just the brownie that caused this here, but with how I felt last night, I'm really scared.

I need to gain weight, but my IBS, among other things, is preventing me from doing so.

Hey all, so right now, my health is probably the worst it's ever been.

I'm not severely underweight, at least I don't think? I am underweight though, and it is making life difficult.

I'm not underweight by choice though. Over the last 3 years, my physical, and mental health have tanked.

3 years ago at this time, I developed a panic disorder, that then lead to agoraphobia. Along with that, I always had issues in the past with acid reflux, but it got really bad when the panic disorder started, so much so that I am now in prescription grade antacids that still are not helping me.

To top it all off, I have IBS, which I've had for the majority of my life, and I do think plays a big part in the panic disorder.

Since I've been stuck at home, and in a constant state of anxiety, my IBS has gotten really bad.

As a result, whenever I try to eat, I wind up feeling incredibly nauseous, and start having an IBS flare after eating a small amount of food.

As a result of this, I'm not eating enough. And when I do eat, then have an episode, I feel like whatever little amount of food I ate, then gets burned off due to the stress my body goes though, or winds up also shooting out of my ass...

It's not that I don't want to eat, quite the opposite. I spend most of my day absolutely starving, and just nibbling on junk to be quite frank.

I'll just sit at my desk eating crackers, and candy in small amounts because it upsets my stomach less than having a full meal. As a result though, I'm not getting the nutrition I need, and always feel hungry, sick, and run down.

This past month however is the worst I have felt yet. I really don't know what's going on, but for weeks now, I have been even more intolerant of meals, and have had nothing but problems.

The past 5 days in specific, I have been so gassy, and nothing seems to help it. No matter what I eat/don't eat, no matter that methods I try to do, or medication I try to take to reduce the gas, it is just relentless. So much so that I keep waking up in a cramp, so now I'm not even sleeping properly.

As I type this now, I'm gassy, hungry, nauseous, having acid, and feel like someone is pushing in on my stomach so hard every few minutes, I feel like I'm going to be sick.

What the hell do I even do here? I've tried talking to my doctor about this stuff, and he doesn't know/want to help me here. He referred me to a gastroenterologist, but they won't see me at all virtually, so that's out of the question right now. Besides, I have had horrible experiences with gastro doctors in the past, and frankly am leery of them.

Has anyone else here ever been in a similar situation to this? If so, and you fixed it, what did you do?

I'm just trying to look anywhere I can for some guidance at this point.

Feeling sick and frustrated.

Hey all, not censoring words, so TW.

So I made a post on Saturday morning in a panic because I woke up with one of the worst stomach aches I ever had. I have IBS and am used to stomach cramps, but this one was so bad it made me really nauseous.

I felt awful for the rest of that day, and then on Sunday felt a little better, but not by much.

Monday came around, and I felt better when I got up, but then around the afternoon, I started feeling sick to my stomach, and like and IBS attack was coming on.

Despite feeling this way, I still ate dinner, and sure enough, right after that, had an IBS attack, and a bad one at that.

I was up until like 5am going to the bathroom in pain.

Fast forward to Tuesday, and I still don't feel well. Full of gas, bad cramps, but not as nauseous feeling. Nothing I did helped either. No matter what I did, ate, or took to try and help the gas, it wouldn't stop. I ate dinner and did feel a bit better, but because I ate a light meal that didn't fill me up.

Well I woke up today, still full of gas, and even more nauseous than I had been the last number of days.

I decided instead of waiting until dinner to eat, to eat lunch because I could tell I was starving, and was hoping me feeling sick was just from that.

I ate a light lunch, and on the last bite of my lunch, I like aspirated my food by accident, and it irritated my throat so bad, I was gagging and coughing for a bit.

Shortly after that resolved, another IBS attack hit me. My lower back was hurting from all the gas pressure that it was hard to breathe.

This was a few hours after I ate at this point, so I decided to lay down with my heating pad and take a nap.

When I got up, the pain was even worse. I felt super sick from all of this, but just tried ignoring it as best I could.

It's now almost 11pm. This has been going on since 2pm. I keep having waves of cramps, really intense waves of nausea, burning sensation in my chest, feel like I'm going to have diarrhea, and also heat flashes.

I'm of course worried maybe the food I ate today was bad, but my mom actually ate the same stuff, and she's totally fine, so I know it's probably not that.

I'm just so physically and mentally drained right now.

5 days of consistently feeling physically sick is really taking a toll on me.

Usually when I have issues like this, I at least get some down time between episodes and stuff, but not these last few days.

So now I'm sitting here, tired, wanting to sleep, but too worked up to do so because of how sick I feel, that I'm panicking I'm going to be sick tonight or something.

My stomach just feels so off tonight. I feel like I'm going to be sick one moment, then hungry for a brief moment, then a bad cramp comes, rinse, repeat.

I know something probably would have happened by now if I actually was sick, or ate something bad, but what do you guys think about all of this here?

Seriously think it might happen. Just woke up with a horrible stomach ache and N*... Please help.

Hey all, not censoring anything so TW.

So I just woke up after only sleeping for about 2 hours, and I feel so sick right now.

I was woken up by my stomach/upper back hurting so badly that I felt like I was going to be sick.

As soon as I realized what was going on, I had to get up and go to the bathroom.

Right before I went to bed, I started having bad gas, and felt like I had to go to the bathroom a bunch, and couldn't get anything solid out, only mucus.

I truthfully haven't been feeling well this entire week. I have been having mild stomach aches on and off, my acid reflux had been acting up really badly, little appetite, and very tired.

However, the last 2 days or so, I have started to feel better, and haven't been as worried as I was earlier in the week.

So feeling this sick now is really freaking me out.

Like my stomach aches so badly here, I really feel like I'm going to start gagging or something. My stomach also burns, so I know I'm having acid.

I immediately took some tums, but this stomach pain is just too much right now.

It's on my left side in specific. it feels like someone is jabbing me in the side, and back, and it's making me feel so sick.

I can feel that I'm going to have to go to the bathroom again here soon, and I'm terrified to go back into the bathroom. Being in the bathroom while feeling sick like this is a huge trigger for me.

I did do some yard work yesterday. I had to paint the steps leading to my pool which led me to kind of have to contort myself in some weird ways, so I'm hoping that this is maybe just muscle pain or something.

I am worried about my dinner. I ate chicken nuggtes and fries for dinner last night. The night before I had some chicken nuggets out of the same batch, and they were kind of squishy, but since nothing happened, I made some more last night thinking they were okay, but I'm worried maybe they weren't okay, or maybe something was up with the fries that I did not have the night before.

My stomach didn't even ache this bad the last time I had noro...

What do you guys think here, because I'm really panicking.

Edit: Used my back massage gun for a few minutes, and it seemed to help the back ache a bit for the time being, but the stomach ache is still there, and I'm beginning to salivate a lot, and have this salty taste in my spit...

I'm also pretty thirsty, so I'm hoping it's just that, and am taking small sips of water.

I did have to go to the bathroom again, and got more out this time, but it's getting softer which does worry me to an extent.

I also keep burping, and it feels like if I burp too hard, something else may come with it. The nausea is still here too, and is bothering me worse than usual. I went out in the kitchen, and just looking at food is turning my stomach.

Haven't felt well in days, just woke up feeling really sick. Could use some help.

Hey all, not censoring words so TW.

So the last week has been really rough if I'm being honest. Idk what's been going on to be truthful.

I have been extremely weak and tired, achy, minimal appetite, headaches, stomach is upset, stuff like that. I was even having trouble breathing one day. I figured all of this may have been started from the wildfire smoke coming down from the north the previous week.

I have been making sure I do eat, but I know I haven't been eating enough lately. On Monday night, I made myself a larger meal than I had been eating for awhile, and it upset my stomach pretty badly.

All day on Tuesday, my stomach tore me a new one. My acid reflux acted up worse than it has in weeks, which is crazy because I am now on prescription grade acid reducers that I have taken every day for the last month. I woke up that morning to my throat feeling raw, and was just burping up acid all day.

Later in the day, I kept having to use the bathroom, feeling like I was going to have diarrhea each time, but instead was having was felt like burning road tar come out instead.

This lasted for over 12 hours, and left me utterly exhausted.

All day Wednesday, my stomach, and back ached, and I felt nauseous anytime I tried to eat anything.

I wound up sleeping a lot, and when I did eat, I only really ate some toast, and a few plain tortilla chips.

Before I went to bed, I got a shower, and the ache in my stomach/upper back was getting worse. It felt like I was doing exercise crunches all day.

So I laid down, put my heating pad on, and fell asleep.

I woke up after 2 hours of sleep to my stomach and back aching even worse, my chest now hurting as well, gassy, and coughing from acid coming up my throat.

I tried to drink some water and go back to sleep, but I can feel something getting worse in my stomach and back, like an IBS episode is coming on, and I'm feeling more nauseous the longer I'm awake.

It's almost 4am here, I'm tired and want to go back to sleep, but I'm afraid because I'm in pain, and feeling very sick now.

I have no clue what is going on with me. My mom was complaining of almost the same stuff Wednesday, and my dad was complaining about it on Tuesday. So I fear we may have a touch of something.

I'm worried about waking up feeling like this, and things getting worse.

What do you guys think?

I've had a pretty bad stomach ache all day and it's making me nervous.

Hey all, not censoring words in this post, so TW.

So starting around this time last night, my stomach started to ache. At first it wasn't too bad, and I just chalked it up to my usual issues, but as the night went on, it kept getting worse.

When I got up this morning, the stomach ache was better, but still there, and I felt kind of sick.

I was beginning to think maybe it's muscular? I tore my room apart over the course of 2 days to change out my desk and dresser. It was a lot of heavy lifting, crouching down, and moving things around. 2 days ago, I worked for 14 hours straight only taking a small break for a little bit.

So I figured maybe all that work caught up to me.

However, the stomach ache kept getting worse after I woke up, to the point where I needed to lay down with a heating pad on.

I wound up falling asleep, and had this dream where I actually threw up. So I shot awake in a panic, thinking I was going to be sick in real life too.

Thankfully nothing happened, but this stomach ache will not go away, I feel nauseous, and just a little bit ago, I had some mucousy diarrhea.

So now that dream, which I know doesn't really mean much, and this bout of diarrhea has me really on edge.

I know I didn't eat anything bad, but now I'm afraid I'm sick or something, and that something worse is going to happen later.

I know realistically it's probably the work I did catching up to me, but I am nervous about all of this.

What do you guys think?

Cyclospora parasite Megathread. Please read.

Hey all, so with the influx of posts regarding the Cyclospora Parasite situation going on right now, we have decided to divert all talks regarding this to a megathread here.

The reason for doing this is because of the volume of posts we are receiving due to this, it's hard to keep up with.

We also want other people who are not having issues regarding this to not get their posts buried.

We're not trying to silence anyone's concerns regarding this though, we just need to consolidate things down for now.

So going forward, if you have any questions, or want to discuss the ongoing issues regarding the Cyclospora parasite, please do so here.

If you make a post regarding this outside of this megathread, it will be removed.

I also wanted to post some facts that are known right now about this.

Cyclospora is not a new issue. There has been outbreaks with it in the past.

It is not transferable from human to human. The only way to contract is is to eat contaminated foods.

Vomiting can happen with this, but it is listed as one of the less common symptoms, so chances are low of that happening for most people.

Cooking your fruits or vegetables up to 160F/(71C) kills the parasite.

As of today, July 14th 2026, the CDC has confirmed 1,645 cases for the entirety of the US since May 1st, 2026. They are aware of more cases, but they are unconfirmed. This means the chances of you contracting this are extremely low.

For more information, here's the CDC's official page on Cyclospora.

If you have any questions or concerns about this post, please leave a comment below, or feel free to message the mod team. We are here to help!

Haven't been feeling well all day, just woke up feeling even worse.

Hey all, not going to censor words, so TW.

So all day yesterday I wasn't feeling too great. I did my best to just ignore it though because I didn't want to get myself too worked up because my parents were away from home on vacation the last few days, and I didn't want to throw myself into a panic.

I woke up feeling kind of dizzy, nauseous, and had a headache. Shortly afterwards, I felt like I might have an IBS attack too.

I took a tylenol for the headache, and ate some saltine crackers which did help.

Around 7:30pm, I made myself dinner, and right after eating it, felt like the IBS attack was coming back again, so even though I was still hungry, I stopped there as to not have an episode.

Ever since then, I have just felt horrible.

Stomach gurgling, stomach feels tight, feel nauseous, and like I'm going to gag.

My parents came home around this time, so I felt less stressed. I went and got a shower, then went to bed around 11pm.

Well it's now 2:30am, and I feel even worse than I did before.

Headache, nauseous, dizzy, weak, gassy, and my heart is beating out of my chest.

I do feel kind of hungry I think? But something just doesn't feel right. Idk if it's acid reflux or what.

I honestly don't know what this could be. My girlfriend was over a few days ago, but she was totally fine. I was here by myself for the most part the last 3 days. I did eat full meals twice a day, every day this week as well, except for yesterday.

I am worried about possibly getting something from cleaning up after our cats. They fling litter filled with poop and pee everywhere, and I cleaned it the last 3 days, but was very careful, and washed my hands well.

Another thing is I had to spray a bush with plant safe bug killer on Wednesday because we had these worms that were eating the bush so bad it was going to kill it, and I may have inhaled too much of the fumes, and think I took an allergic reaction to it.

After I did that, I kept sneezing for the rest of the night, nose was draining like I was sick, same with my eyes, and I even broke out in a mild rash for the night because the wind picked up the mist and got me in the arm a bit.

I also felt dizzy, and think that's what caused the headache.

I've handled bug killer stuff like this before, and know how to be safe with it, but for some reason it got to me this time.

I don't know if it's possible for it to still be affecting me this far out though.

I don't really know why I feel so sick right now either way, and waking up feeling like this in the middle of this night has me scared.

What do you guys think?

Worried about some frozen food.

Hey all, so just a quick question.

My parents went out today and got groceries, and I asked them to get me some things for the upcoming week ahead, one of those items being frozen french fries.

When they got home, they had partially thawed in the car because it's really hot out today, so I stuck them in the freezer as soon as possible.

It's been about 2 hours now, and I went to go make some, and they're still partially thawed, and kind of slimy to the touch.

I think the slimy part is because of the oil that's in the fries coming out, but I am worried about them still not being fully frozen.

I would usually refrain from asking a question like this here, however, my parents are going away for 3 days, and I'll be here alone. A big thing with my phobia is I don't trust my sense of taste and smell when it comes to food.

There are things my parents told me are very clearly rotten by smell alone, that smelled fine to me. I think COVID messed up my sense of smell and taste permanently.

So being here for 3 days alone, I'm worried about eating this, and getting sick from it.

What's the consensus on partially thawed, then refrozen potatoes?

Edit: Made some in the oven. They came out partially translucent? Probably from not cooking fully in spots. I ate some, so I guess we'll see what happens...

▲ 3 r/GERD

Nervous to start Pantoprazole due to side effects, but need to do something.

Hey all, this is my first time posting in this sub.

I have not been officially diagnosed with GERD, but over the last few years, my acid reflux issues have gotten out of hand.

I've had issues with acid for as long as I can remember, but 3 years ago, I developed a panic disorder, and shortly after that, the acid issues have become worse than ever before.

I have cut so many foods out of my diet because of this, and despite eating a very bland diet, my acid is so bad, I can't even sleep some nights.

Before speaking to my doctor about this the other day, I have tried managing it on my own with tums, which only work sometimes, and recently have been causing this sensation where I have to burp, but can't properly, and I get really bad trapped gas that makes me feel like I'm going to puke.

I also tried Famotidine, but I noticed after taking that a few times, it was causing me to have panic attacks.

So my doctor prescribed me 20mg of Pantoprazole to hopefully help with these issues.

However, I am afraid of taking new medications for various reasons.

I am very sensitive to medications. I always tend to get bad side effects from them.

I also have IBS, and emetophobia (fear of vomiting), so I'm always afraid of things triggering my IBS, or even worse, making me throw up.

I know this medicine is supposed to help with all of this, and my dad has actually been taking 40mg of this medications for years with zero issues.

I'm just really afraid to start it. Again, I know I need to do something though. I am already nauseous on a daily basis, and I do believe the acid is playing a very large role in this.

So to anyone here who has taken it, what's your experience been with it?

Haven't felt well all day, feeling very sick right now and could use some help.

Hey all, not censoring words, so TW.

So my stomach honestly hasn't felt too good the last few days. I suspected it to mostly be related to acid reflux, and stress.

All day yesterday, I felt sick to my stomach, and like I was going to have diarrhea, however, nothing ever happened.

I woke up this morning after having a terrible night's sleep feeling the exact same way.

My stomach was gurgling, and feeling so awful about 2 hours after I woke up, that I put my heating pad on, and went back to sleep for a few hours.

When I got up, I still didn't feel any better.

I have been really weak today, getting waves of nausea every 15 minutes or so, and a burning feeling in my stomach as well.

I was hungry for most of the day, so I tried to ignore feeling sick as best I could.

I did eat a cupcake a few hours ago, but that was all I ate all day at the time.

About an hour ago, I decided to make some actual food, so I threw some chicken tenders in the oven, and while that was cooking, ate a handful of plain tortilla chips.

Once the chicken was done, I took 2 bites, and felt really sick to my stomach. I figured I just needed to eat slowly, but that sick feeling has only gotten worse.

I had to go to the bathroom shortly after eating those 2 bites, and it was normal, but as soon as I came out of the bathroom, I felt like I was going to be sick.

Now I'm sitting here having stabbing pains in my stomach, and like I'm about to have really bad diarrhea.

This is now making me panic, which is making everything worse as it's getting hard to breathe and relax.

I had people over yesterday for my birthday, so I'm worried maybe I caught something, even though I know this is probably just related to what was happening for the last few days anyways.

I wasn't even going to make this post until the stabbing stomach pains started. That coupled with feeling nauseous and like I'm going to have diarrhea is sending me into a spiral.

What do you guys think here?

The collectors edition of the game now reads a "404 error" on Rock It Games' website...

Well I decided to just check my order on Rock It Games' website to see if there has been any update, and sure enough there was, but not a good one.

I have the PS5 collectors edition on order, and when I click the link to the listing, it now reads a "404 error, page not found. The page you are looking for does not exist."...

Now what the fresh hell could this mean? It's been over a month since the last update, when they said communication would be more frequent, they crawled back into their shell, and now this.

If you look up Croc on the website, the only thing that now comes up is the digital edition of the collectors edition, the gobbo plush, and some shirts. That's it. Everything else has been wiped from the site.

Here's the link to the PS5 collectors edition for those who want to witness this themselves.

This whole thing is a fucking joke at this point.

Edit: looks like that link I posted above isn't working on here, so here's a screenshot of the page instead.

Overwhelmed lately. I'm trying to get better, but it feels impossible.

Hey all, so a few weeks ago, I had a follow up with my psychiatrist, and since then, things have been chaotic.

I was prescribed 2 medications, ones I've taken before, but not for very long, and still haven't started due to being afraid of the side effects.

I was also placed into therapy, which I'll get into later.

And then I finally got a hold of my doctor to help me with my constant nausea and acid issues, who I speak to on Tuesday.

For some reason, ever since my agoraphobia started, even doing virtual appointments at home is enough to give me a panic attack. I guess it's knowing I have to be in one place for a certain amount of time, and act a certain way makes me feel trapped, then I begin to panic.

So my panic attacks have been more frequent again due to all these appointments I've been having.

Then, the medication I was prescribed, Mirtrazipine, and Hydroxyzine are giving me stress to even start. I have a fear of medications, because I am really sensitive to them. Whatever side effects medicines have, I tend to get.

I've heard horror stories about getting off of mirtrazipine, and since I have emetophobia, any possibility of gaining more nausea than I already deal with on a daily basis, makes me scared.

Then my therapist is not great. I've only had 2 sessions with this guy so far, but he's completely dismissive of my issues.

I've tried explaining to this guy that I have not left the house in almost 3 solid years. I panic when trying to go to the end of my street, and even have panic attacks at home for stuff like these appointments, or just when I don't feel right.

Well he told me that because I'm not having 2 or more panic attacks that are unexplained a week, he's not going to classify it as a panic disorder, and also doesn't think I have agoraphobia simply because I'm not afraid to sit in my yard alone...

Completely ignoring everything else I've tried to explain to him.

I feel like time is running out for me here. I turn 31 this week. I'm on medicaid insurance and I'm pretty sure unless I start working soon, 6 months from now, I will have no insurance, so I will not be able to get any more help.

I'm so tired of feeling like I'm constantly fighting with my own body. I'm tired of the constant fear, and panic. I'm tired of missing out on life, and I'm sick and fucking tired of fighting the medical system.

Just woke up panicking, and not feeling well. I think I have an idea why, but I'm nervous.

Hey all, not censoring words, so TW.

Every weekend, me and my friends have a few nights where we play video games together for a few hours. Usually something competitive, and it can get stressful.

Well last night it got so stressful, I started feeling like someone was pushing their thumbs into my eyes, I started getting a headache, and feeling dizzy.

I knew that was the cut off point, so I got off, and tried to lay down and wait for that feeling to stop.

It wasn't going away after an hour, and I was nervous about it going into a migraine because I started feeling sick to my stomach too, so I ate a few crackers to have something in my stomach, then took a tension headache pill, which for those who don't know is Acetaminophen and caffeine.

I try not to take these unless absolutely necessary as I don't consume any caffeine anymore, and I'm afraid the caffeine will trigger a panic attack.

About 45 minutes after taking it, the headache, and eye pressure went away, but I felt really gassy, which was unrelated to the pill.

I took a gas-x, put my heating pad, and fell asleep for a little while.

Well I just woke up with a horrible bitter taste in my mouth, my stomach feeling horrible, dizzy, and panicked.

I got up to use the bathroom, and eat a cracker again to get this bitter taste out of my mouth, and when I did, I felt like I was going to fall over, and be sick.

I'm really hoping the panicked feeling is just from the caffeine, but I don't know what this bitter taste in the back of my throat is, and why I feel dizzy and sick.

I always get triggered when I wake up feeling dizzy and queasy because that's how I felt when I had a stomach virus last.

As I'm typing this, the headache is actually coming back, and I can feel panic mounting further.

I'm chewing gum to try and get this bitter taste to stop, but it's not going away.

I know this is all probably nothing, but I'm really nervous waking up feeling this way.

What do you guys think here?

Edit, got up took a sip of water, felt super sick to my stomach. I then had to go to the bathroom, where it was mostly mucus, and while I was sitting on the toilet, my stomach felt even worse and like I was going to puke.

I'm now feeling like I have trapped gas I can't get out again, and feel like I'm going to throw up. I'm trying to relax, and just ignore this, but this is the 5th time this has happened in a week, and I'm frustrated.

I spoke to my doctor earlier this week, and he had no clue how to help me with any of this.

Feeling very sick all of a sudden, and panicking badly.

Hey all, not censoring words, so TW.

I'm going to try and make this quick and not write a book like I normally do because I'm really panicked right now.

I ate dinner around 7:30 - 8pm, I can't remember exactly. Had my usual chicken and french fries for dinner. It was a new batch of fries that felt slimy when frozen, but I figured it was just the vegetable oil they blanch them with. There was also a weird piece of chicken, but I threw it out and ate the rest.

Shortly after eating, I felt sick to my stomach. I had really bad acid all weekend, so much so that the only thing I ate was saltine crackers, and a few cookies until today.

I tried going to the bathroom, but only got a little out because I'm still backed up from the Zofran I took on Thursday. A little time passed, and my stomach felt better, but then I felt like I was coming down with a cold or something.

I was out doing yard work in the heat today, so I figured it was just from that.

Fast forward to about an hour ago, and I was feeling a lot better. I ate a cookie, which was a little too sweet, so I went and ate some crackers after that.

Shortly after that, I started feeling and tasting this super sweet stuff crawling up my throat, even after eating something salty.

I figured it was acid, so I took a Tums. Right after that, I started feeling very sick.

I had to go to the bathroom, where again, hardly anything came out. After that, I started salivating like crazy, so much so that I wanted to spit my gum out, then I felt like I had to burp, but if I did, that I would throw up.

I got a few good burps out, but my mouth is still salivating a lot, my stomach kind of hurts, I have a lot of gas pressure, and I still feel like I'm going to vomit.

I was seriously fine like 30 minutes ago. I have no clue where this just came and hit me so hard.

I'm really afraid it could be food poisoning, even though I doubt it. Or that it's a sickness, which I also doubt as I'm still stuck at home.

I don't even know what I'm getting at with this post. I guess I just want to type it out, and maybe talk if anyone is around, because it's late, and I'm the only one up.

What do you guys think of all of this?

I hate this phobia and IBS...

Hey all, not censoring words so TW.

So I just ate dinner a little bit ago, and it's now triggered an IBS attack, and I'm just so over this shit.

I didn't eat a meal yesterday, which I'm pretty upset about because this week, even if I have felt really nauseous, I've pushed myself to eat at least one meal a day within a consistent time frame, and did actually end up eating a ton of food as a result.

Yesterday however, I woke up to my back hurting really bad, which felt like an IBS attack coming on, really bad heartburn, and very dizzy.

The combo of all of this just totally killed my appetite, and energy for the day, and I wound up only eating a small snack.

I woke up at 3am this morning to the room spinning because my blood sugar had tanked so bad, I felt like I was going to pass out.

I got up and ate some candy just to get sugar in my system to stop the dizziness, but it really didn't help.

I'm guessing there's more going on causing this dizziness because my entire family has had the same thing, and also my one friend who lives on the other side of town was complaining about it too.

Anyways, I went back to sleep, and woke up dizzy again this afternoon.

Right before I was about to make dinner, the dizziness was so bad, I was going to take some Meclizine, but all the stuff I have is expired, so I decided to skip it and just ride it out.

I made my dinner, ate it, and apparently ate one bite too many because ever since then, my heart is racing, I'm getting bad cramps, had to use the bathroom 2 times so far, can feel diarrhea brewing, and I feel this nauseous lump in my throat.

I'm just so tired of dealing with IBS and this phobia.

Because now I'm going to be worried what I ate for dinner was bad all night because I don't feel well, but I know logically it was probably fine, and it just upset my IBS.

So either way, I'm in it for the rest of the night dealing with fear and pain. Ugh...
