Question for my car buyers

I’ve been looking at cars 24/7 (I have an addiction) and I hear some people say that, car listings with terrible photos and barely any information often lead to the seller selling it for a better price and sometimes the car is actually a steal once it’s seen in person; the seller just sucks at making a good post.

Anybody have personal experience with this? I always pass on listings with bad pics and info but maybe I’m missing out

How much are you guys in SoCal paying for a clean facelift?

This would be my first ever Lexus. I have a budget of 8k, don’t mind higher miles as long as it’s taken care of, because if I like it I plan on keeping it for a long time. I’ve never actually driven a 430 but it’s my current dream car that I wanna add to my fleet. TIA

2011, 6MT, 216k miles, what to post it for?

Thinking of selling my 2011 6 speed. Door handles have been replaced with metal ones, has no issues at all. AC blows cold, no warning lights on dash, tires are almost brand new. Located in SoCal, not exactly ready to let it go but curious what you guys think I could post it for? Clean title

My 2003 for sale, 2WD, 84,450 miles!

Located in Antelope Valley, CA. 93550.

Hi! Selling this 2003 SR5 2WD. I’ve owned it for about a month and selling because I want an older Yukon or Escalade to modify, and this Sequoia is too nice for me to do that.

I’m the 3rd owner, has a clean title, clean CarFax. No rust. In my short ownership I did an oil change, new spark plugs, replaced the windshield wipers, replaced the battery, replaced the wheels and tires with a wheel set from a GX470, installed a new touchscreen head unit, and got the tires balanced and 4 wheel alignment. Timing belt doesn’t have a service record but i inspected it and it still looks good!

Everything is functional, sunroof, rear window, even the back hatch handle but it’s starting to feel stiff. Has the JBL sound system, second row AC controls.

Previous owner had it sitting outside since 2022, and there’s some paint fading, trim wear, and a couple dings and scratches.

Send me a PM if interested. I have it listed a bit high at 12,000 but I’m accepting reasonable offers. Price can be negotiated after seeing the truck in person.

Out of round tires

Just recently bought a 03 Sequoia. According to the Carfax, in 2022 at 83,500 miles the tires were replaced, and I bought the truck last week with 83,800 miles on the clock.

Went to get the tires balanced to hopefully fix vibrating at highway speeds that I’ve been experiencing , but the tire shop told me they are pretty out of round and I should just buy a new set, and they didn’t attempt to balance them.

They aren’t cracked and the DOT date says 2022. I’ve only put maybe 50 miles on it, should I try doing a lot of highway miles to hopefully even them out or just look at replacing them?

2007, random ABS and Brake light on

Hello, just bought a cheap Tc1 with a decent amount of miles, came on aftermarket wheels. First note is that, even with correct air pressure, the tire pressure light is on no matter what.

On the way home, maybe 10 mins into my drive , the ABS and red brake light came on, and then went off together about 2 mins later. It did this again another 15 mins later. I did notice the brakes felt like they needed to be replaced, but all of the pads have good life on them. Wasn’t getting any codes with my scanner but I just ordered a scanner capable of reading ABS codes, won’t be here until tomorrow so I’m just looking to see if anyone has any ideas. Also went under each wheel/hub and didn’t see any loose wiring but I could tell the car has been sitting for a looooong time before I bought it.

Swap timing belt or sell as is?

Buying a very low mileage 2003 Sequoia at a price I can easily make profit on a sale, according to the Carfax report its last dealer maintenance was done in 2022 which was just oil, tire, brake inspection , etc. and I don’t see any records of the timing belt/water pump being done. The kit is about $200, I can do it myself but I’m wondering if doing the job will make much difference when trying to sell it. The current mileage is below the 90k suggested interval but the suggested interval is also 7 years. I already plan on doing basic routine maintenance and a tune up.

2003 SR5- how much could I sell it for?

(Not the actual photo)

82k miles

Hi, I have the opportunity to buy a 2003 Sequoia SR5 for super cheap, and wanted to know what I could possibly sell it for? Clean title, full service history, no rust, California-Los Angeles area truck. Everything is operational and it has zero issues that I could find. Clean Carfax as well. The paint is even well taken care of. Was owned by a much older gentleman. All it needs is a detail.

I see similar listings on marketplace of 1st gen’s with 100k+ miles that people are asking 12k+ for. I don’t know much about Sequoias as you can tell lol. It is 2wd
