A few updates and fixes coming to Movie Paradise (TV Time import, sign-up issues, and what's next)

Hey everyone, wanted to get ahead of a few things people have been running into and share what's coming.

First, a bit of context: I'm a solo developer, it's just me building and running Movie Paradise. With TV Time winding down there's been a huge wave of new sign-ups, which is amazing, but it also means I can't personally reply to everyone as fast as I'd like. I'm reading everything though, and I'm on top of the main issues. Here's where things stand.

TV Time import

Some of you haven't been able to import your TV Time export, and I've mostly figured it out. TV Time exports come in several different formats, and the importer wasn't handling all of them. I'm adding support for every format now, based on the exports people have been sending me via email, so this will be fully fixed in the next update. If your import failed, missed some titles, or gave you any other issue, hang tight and try again once that lands. (I will reset cooldown for imports for everyone)

Also: TV Time import will be completely free starting with the next update.

Sign-up getting stuck

A few people have reported getting stuck during sign-up. I'm actively working on a fix for this. In the meantime, here's what helps:

  • Use Google or Apple sign-in for the smoothest experience
  • If you're stuck, try switching to mobile data
  • Close any VPN you have running, then try again

Sorry for the friction, this one's a priority.

What's coming

  • A big new version is landing today or tomorrow
  • The web version is coming within the next week

Thanks for the patience and for bearing with me while I work through all of this. Drop any other issues in the comments and I'll get to them.

TV Time is shutting down. If you're new here, welcome. 🫶

Hey everyone,

If you found Movie Paradise today, it's probably because TV Time is officially shutting down on July 15. Losing an app where you've logged years of history sucks, and I'm glad you're here.

Don't wait, though. TV Time wipes all user data when the servers go dark, so you need to get your history out before the 15th. Two steps: export your TV Time data using a Chrome extension, then open Movie Paradise on iOS or Android, go to the import screen, and upload the file. Your logged episodes, ratings, and stats carry right over, so you're not rebuilding your list from scratch.

Quick thing worth knowing: I build Movie Paradise entirely solo. It's just me, which means I'm the one reading every comment and handling support. So if the export or import gives you any trouble, reply right here and I'll personally walk you through it.

Welcome aboard, and tell me how I can make this a better home for your tracking. 🙌

Top sci-fi films. What's missing? [Movie Paradise]

Made this with a tracker app I built. What would you add or cut?

App campaign stuck at 0 impressions for 3.5 weeks, everything is "Eligible", I'm losing my mind

Hoping someone here has seen this before because I've run out of ideas.

I'm running a UAC / App install campaign for my Android app. It's been live for about 3.5 weeks and has literally 0 impressions, 0 clicks, $0 spent. Not "low", actual zero. Campaign and ad group and ad all say Eligible/Approved, no policy warnings anywhere, nothing in the notifications panel.

The account isn't brand new btw, it ran a campaign a few years back, so it's not a fresh account with no history.

Stuff I've already done (this is why I'm pulling my hair out):

- Advertiser verification fully done, shows Verified

- Billing active, valid card, no holds, even has credit on it

- Conversion action is the Google Play install one, set as Primary

- Linked my Google Play account to Ads

- Targeting US, English, all devices, Presence

- Tried Maximize installs with no target, then tried Target CPI too. No difference.

- Even rebuilt the whole campaign from scratch in the UI thinking the old one was glitched. The brand new one ALSO sits at 0.

- Checked the Play listing in incognito from a US angle, app is live and installable, looks fine.

So at this point it's not the campaign config, I've basically rebuilt it twice. It really feels like some account-level thing I can't see, because nothing in the UI is telling me what's wrong. Twitter support just sends me bot replies and bounced me to Google Play.

Has anyone had eligible campaigns just refuse to enter auctions like this with zero explanation? Is there an actual way to get a human at Google to look at the account, or something I'm missing? I've spent weeks on this and I'm stuck.

Make your own Nuvio collections with filters (looking for feedback)

Title: Make your own Nuvio collections with filters (looking for feedback)

Hey r/NuvioAddons,

Solo dev of Movie Paradise here. I’ve been seeing people share custom collections lately, and also posts from people looking for very specific collections that don’t already exist.

So I built a Nuvio addon for Movie Paradise that lets you turn your own custom lists into Nuvio collections. Short screen recording attached showing the full flow.

https://reddit.com/link/1t5mw22/video/qq76bl63gkzg1/player

The idea is simple: build the exact collections you want with filters, then open them inside Nuvio.

How it works

  1. Open Movie Paradise.
  2. Use Advanced Discovery.
  3. Pick your filters.
  4. Save it as a Smart List.
  5. Copy your personal addon URL.
  6. Add it to Nuvio.
  7. Your Smart List shows up as a collection.

There are a lot of filter options, too many to list properly in one post, but examples include genre, year, rating, runtime, language, country, keywords, cast/crew, studios, and more.

Smart Lists update automatically, so if new titles match your filters later, they appear in the collection too. Manual custom lists also work if you prefer hand-picked collections.

Examples

  • Korean thrillers from the last 10 years with IMDb 7+.
  • 80s horror with a rating threshold.
  • A24 movies.
  • Studio Ghibli collection.
  • Musicals.
  • Basically any specific collection you want to build yourself.

Important note

The addon only exposes custom lists and Smart Lists you intentionally create. It does not expose your watchlist.

It only creates collections from your Movie Paradise lists.

Heads up on pricing

The Nuvio addon is a Pro feature in Movie Paradise. Free users can create limited lists inside the app, but using them as Nuvio collections requires Pro. There’s a 7-day free trial so you can test the full flow before committing. Saying this upfront because I don’t want anyone clicking through and feeling baited.

Feedback I’d love

What filters are missing, what feels confusing, how the collections look inside Nuvio, what breaks, what feels slow, and what would make this more useful.

Not trying to replace the free collections people already share here. Those are great. This is for when you want something very specific and want an easier way to build it yourself.

▲ 12 r/Stremio

Hey r/Stremio,

Solo dev of Movie Paradise here. I wanted to share a feature I built that fits naturally with Stremio: turning your own filtered movie/TV lists into Stremio catalogs through an addon URL.

Short screen recording attached showing the full flow.

https://reddit.com/link/1t5lon5/video/ppvetonm9kzg1/player

What it does

Movie Paradise has Advanced Discovery, basically a visual filter builder. You pick filters like genre, year, rating, runtime, language, country, keywords, cast/crew, studios, watch providers, and more.

Then you save the results as a Smart List, copy your addon URL, and add it to Stremio. The Smart List shows up as a catalog inside Stremio.

Smart Lists auto-update as new titles match your filters. Manual hand-picked custom lists also work if you prefer that.

A few example catalogs

  • Korean thrillers from the last 10 years with IMDb 7+.
  • 80s horror with a rating threshold.
  • A24 movies.
  • Studio Ghibli catalog.
  • Musicals.
  • Anything specific you want and can’t find an existing catalog for.

What’s exposed

Only the custom lists and Smart Lists you intentionally create. Watchlist is not exposed.

This does not provide streams, sources, IPTV, debrid, or anything related to content acquisition. It only creates catalogs from your Movie Paradise lists.

Heads up

The Stremio addon side is a Pro feature in Movie Paradise. There’s a 7-day free trial so you can test the full flow before committing. Saying this upfront so nobody feels baited.

If you try it, I’d love feedback on filters that are missing, anything confusing, how the catalogs look inside Stremio, or things that break.

This is still early, so I’d really like to hear what actual Nuvio users think.
