In terms of his food recos...for me personally i think it's pretty hit or miss. Some of the places he's recommended, such a certain famous wanton mee stall that was highly raved (iykyk), i find it SUPER average. Used to work near there and everyone in office said the wanton mee is v average.
But doesn't mean he's a bad reviewer, it could just mean my taste buds and preferences vary from him. And the wanton mee stall always has a long queue, so i guess there are still people that enjoy it.
As a content creator though, I would say he knows his sh*t? He cooks himself and he definitely does his research. All in all, it's a very well produced video. He goes in depth with his explanations, and not just a "this one got umami. chili got kick. this one got pork lard etc."
And i do respect him that he doesn't sell out. So many other so called "food content creators" have their channels FILLED with ads or media tasting videos. For him, I think only the "best online food series" was a paid ad
