What if Smash 6 was a reboot with 40 characters?
The changes are based on people hating on my 30 character one.
truman and gorillaz pac man are jokes, but i know some people are gonna complain about that
Also the second Bowser is Bowser jr., it got cut off
Sirfetch'D seems random, but he would be able to use Pichu in his moveset.
Since Kirby just got a new game, he would need to have another rep.

What if the next Smash game was a reboot with 30 fighters?
I tried to use as little stolen fanart as I could. I think all of this is official art?
Yes I removed every non-Gen 1 pokemon, because I wanted to fit the original 12, necessary characters, and some newcomers. The Miis would still be here but I didn't want to make there be 40 or 33 characters, just to add 1 character.
22 veterans, 8 newcomers, I think that's pretty balanced.

Updated Smash 6 prediction
Yes I put Daisy as a newcomer, as I feel like she would have an all-new moveset, and as Waluigi represents the sport and party games, so would she.
The only veteran I put back was Byleth.
Galacta Knight was moved to Newcomers, I feel like he'd be like Falco for Meta Knight.
I cut Zagreus and Cuphead, Zagreus because Hades 2 is more relevant, Cuphead because he hasn't gotten anything since 2017, and yes I know he will be getting something soon, but I feel like he would make a good DLC character if the game does have DLC. Oh and I cut Gengar because yeah.
I added Karate Joe, Crash, Zero, Kefka, Krystal, and Tom Nook too, since those franchises (Minus Crash) are near guaranteed to get new reps.

For anyone wondering, Jessie and James's team would be their classic Meowth, Weezing, and Arbok.
Also I forgot to put Galacta Knight in Newcomers, he should be there.

My dream Smash 6 roster
Waluigi, Paper Mario, Mr. L, Bandee, Boyfriend, Meowscarada, Cuphead, Freddy, Flowery, Murdoc Niccals, Zagreus, Cai, Bendy, Del, Chun-Li, Jack Pepper, Lord X, Knuckles, Sans, Kris, Jack Black, Crazy Dave, Shovel Knight, Hornet, Netskie, and Isaac are the newcomers.
Daisy, Young Link, Toon Link, Dark Samus, Wolf, Pichu, Marth, Lucina, Corrin, Byleth, Lucas, Dark Pit, Villager, Shulk, Pyra/Mythra, Ken, and Richter, as well as some alts were cut.
Every alt except for Corrin's and Bowser Jr.'s would be changed to new characters to represent other aspects of the series.

ATTENTION EVERYONE WHO IS MAKING A SMASH BROS FANGAME
I can't code, so if anyone's making a Super Smash Bros. fangame, please add Lord X to it.
Lord X also needs to have a fun moveset, references to Sinister Minds and the Guardians, and just genuinely be a cool character unique from regular sonic, obviously.
I don't need EVERY Smash fangame that comes out to have him in it, obviously, but I do need at least one that has him as part of the base playable roster without a lengthy unlocking process.
