I recently managed to transition from a normal Mon-Fri 9-5 for the past 9 years to now a 3-4 day week night shift role that mainly lands on weekends. Now I swear I only used to see older people, uni students, the odd mum with her kid/s and some tradies on lunch around this time of the week and was never too busy but much to my surprise, I am seeing these places absolutely bustling with people now. Is it mostly WFH ? Don’t get me wrong I’m not against it, I’m happy for everyone that can enjoy there time outside of the weekend but I was just so surprised, almost like a prank no one has let me in on lol.

Please forgive me as I’m not hip to the politics, but I genuinely thought it would be frowned upon in all countries.

Drafted 1st overall in 72 and ended up being a league MVP in 75, but that was his only first team ever, and only ever got 1 more 2nd team and that’s it. Isn’t it crazy for an MVP to only have 2 all-nba selections in total ? (Unless of course injuries). Anyway he bounces around the league for a bit wins 2 chips with the Showtime Lakers, had no clue he was on those teams either, and shortly after winning in 85 he ends up in some Italian league ?

Isn’t there any modern comparisons to this type of player/career ?

The only scene I remember vividly is an animal or monster’s tail getting chopped off by an elevator style closing door, and possibly a woman that has a blindfold singing on a tv screen ?

Being a high school kid in the late 2000s, it was such a cool thing to have everyone have their own unique phone that differed from everyone else’s. Some slid, some were clamshells, some had full keyboards. Companies really were really out there trying everything just for the sake of it. I remember when I got my Nokia N95 I thought I was coolest kid on the planet, and now everything is legitimately exactly the same. Yes there are differing small features or a different OS and the technology has basically plateaued but at the end of the day everyone is just trying to be AppleSung now. And I’m not placing blame on the companies either, generally speaking people are just too scared to have a phone that’s considerably different to their peer’s phones. I made the switch from Android to Apple about 5 years ago (don’t crucify me) and I’m happy and content, but man I’d give it all up in an instant if phones went back to risky designs and innovative features like they used to.
