Postcards from Florence

Just got an email from Flo's mailing list and this postcard was at the end.

Firstly, it made me so happy because it's helped her, but also it's helped me through a tough time and seeing her perform live again last week has had a healing effect on me that I can't describe, but can feel so strongly! When I think back over the years to the very first time I saw her in 2008 and her music helped me out of a dark time, mentally back then. I seem to keep coming back to her releases at every point in my life and they seem to help me figure my shit out. Does that make sense to anyone else?

Also, I noticed it says 1/5 at the bottom, so I wonder where/when we'll get the other 4... 🤔 I can't wait! 🫶

Can anyone figure out how to order the signed book bundle?!

I see it's listed in her store with the bundle, but I can’t find a way to order those items?! I mean there's no price or buy now button on that item page!

Anyone managed to?

Edit: It's showing me a price now but every time I try to add the bundle to my basket, it pops up an error saying the signed book is sold out.

Edit 2: Managed to get it to work on a completely different computer. No idea why it won't work on my Mac 🤷‍♂️

I made a t-shirt and it’s VERY sparkly! 🪩😁

Best steak/ribs/BBQ type places?

I’m not too posh or fussy so nothing too like that, just good meat, cooked well, seasoned with care

Or, something else we like is things like pork or beef ribs too, or barbecue places offering burnt ends 🤤

Any recommendations?

Bought some stamps

Got them off a bloke who’s dad died and apparently he collected a lot of stamps! I think they worked out 59p per stamp and a current 2nd class stamp costs 91p. Plus that will keep going up in the future and my stamps will still be valid ☺️

Just found out my estranged father has died

I haven't seen him since about 1998. He abused me and my maternal half-sister when we were kids. I learned when I got older that he used to abuse my mother and one day when I was around 15 he threatened to kill her when I was there next to her so because he was a nasty bastard, I swore never to have anything to do with him. I found out today went on to have a daughter with someone he had been in a relationship with for well over a decade - both of whom he was also estranged from when he died, I don't know why. I haven't spoken to anyone on that side of the family since around 1998 also.

An uncle that I haven’t seen since about 1992 rang me today out of the blue and broke the news. I'm not sure how I feel tbh. Just needed to say it out loud - if this even counts as that? He asked if I wanted to be executor of the estate and make all the arrangements, since I am the eldest child - or did I want to keep out of it and stay out if it all and leave him to sort it all. Apparently he was a "bit of a hoarder" 😳 I know not where he died (I know it was hospital, but I don't recall if he said which one) I don't know where he lived - if he owned or rented or any of that. He lived alone, I gather that much.

Just trying to process this all and make sense of what to do.

Stopping Entyvio/Vedolizumab?

Diagnosed with Crohn's 10 years ago but had a rubbish gastro team so only really started getting treatment this year. I've been on it for 6 months now and if anything it is making things worse. My gastro issues are still present, and as urgent as ever! but in addition to that, I now get infections every week! A cold every week! A constant cough that has not cleared for 5 months! Every time I jab myself, I end up out of action for 2-3 days because it leaves me feeling so wiped out. My muscles in my legs actually hurt. I've never experienced fatigue like this - even in my worse flare!

I'm going away on holiday next week and am miserable because I know I am going to be feeling like crap for it. My next Vedo jab is Sunday and I know that as soon as I do it, it's gonna wipe me out for 2-3 days, then I'm gonna be feeling tired and grumpy for my trip away.

I really thought that biologics would help. I felt absolutely amazing for a few days after the first infusion, but slowly and surely, any benefits have slipped away over the months and I feel like I'm back to square 1 with my gut, and have all this extra fatigue stuff to deal with on top too!

I've emailed my gastro nurse to ask for her opinion, and obviously I would never just stop taking it! I just thought I'd ask here too as there are people here with lived experience that I would like to learn of.

Anywhere to order the soundtrack on vinyl?

Hi, I only discovered this show a few months ago and got HOOKED immediately!

I've been looking to buy the soundtrack on vinyl, but I gather it was only released as limited editions every year and sold out quick!

I was wondering if there are any sites where I can order for a reasonable price - or even if there's been any word or rumours of a re-press? With the DVD/Blu-ray released recently and the extended art book coming in February, it seems like the right time for an announcement! Was wondering if I might have missed anything.
