finding a job is genuinely impossible in Manchester

I've been looking for a job since JANUARY and I still have nothing. I got 2 interviews at the start of this year and that's it. one ghosted me after and the other one said I never had an interview when I literally showed them the email where they invited me for an interview.

I have almost a year of customer service experience through volunteering, work experience with Leonardo Hotels, a CPR certificate, passed all of my GCSEs, have a Level 3 Qualification from college and can work WHENEVER and I'm not even getting interviews. how are other people getting jobs in the city? I apply for jobs every single day and always get the same 'we're moving forward with other candidates' if I'm lucky, most of the time I get ghosted.

I did have an apprenticeship lined up but now it's not going ahead which is soooo frustrating.

I urgently need a job. I'll do literally anything at this point I just need the money 😭

anyone know anything about Moon Moments LTD?

hi everyone,

I'm due to have a phone interview with a company called Moon Moments LTD about an entry-level sales position. I've been looking online and can't really find much about the company, and the stuff I do find is giving extreme mixed signals. the number that contacted me was a personal number instead of a business number if that's relevant.

this is my first time experiencing a possible devil corp so I don't know what to do 😭

if anyone has advice for how I should go around this it would be greatly appreciated!

Traveling through Copenhagen Airport to Sweden by train

Hi! sorry if this doesn't make complete sense, I'm a little stressed and nervous about upcoming travel plans.

next week I'll be flying into Copenhagen Airport before getting a train to Kristianstad in Southern Sweden. I have never flown into Copenhagen Airport or visited Sweden before so I don't really know what to expect when I get there, and I'll be completely on my own until I arrive in Kristianstad. I know you can pre book the train ticket, but I don't know what website/app to use to do this or how much it will cost.

if anyone could provide details on how to book the train tickets it would be greatly appreciated :)

how do you deal with them going home? (17f + 17f)

I just dropped my girl off at the airport after our first time meeting and I feel so unbelievably empty. we're both 17, so the day we finally close the distance feels like a lifetime away right now.

coming back home to a room that smells like her but her presence isn't here anymore is like a humiliation ritual. my legs felt so heavy walking away from her at the airport, almost painful.

Ive never felt this much sadness, yearning, emptiness, and loss at the same time before and I really don't know how to deal with it. we had the most amazing 2 weeks and I can't believe it's over. we immediately felt comfortable around eachother. Ive already booked 2 more trips in October and December, first one being in around 75 days. but that feels so incredibly fat away.

any comforting words or advice would be greatly appreciated right now

how do you actually get a job in Manchester?

I'm 17 and about to start my second year of college. Ive been trying to get a job since the start of the year and had absolutely no luck. I had an interview in January where I got told I would get a trial shift, emailed a few days later and got 'sorry, this position has been filled'. then I had (THOUGHT I had) another interview in March. responded to the email, went there, then got told they had no record of the email they sent? even though it was ON MY PHONE.

since then I've had absolutely nothing. I'm starting to get incredibly desperate and just want to work honestly. I have experience volunteering in charity shops, got good grades in my GCSEs, and have completed online work experience with Leonardo Hotels.

I'm looking for literally any kind of part time work, I don't care about the money as long as it's not lower than minimum wage. Id work in a shop, restaurant, cafe, literally anywhere. preferably north Manchester or Bury.

if anyone has ANY tips or if anyone could help, like put a word in for me or something where they live, get me an interview, it would be GREATLY appreciated 😭😭

how are you?

Hi! I used to post fortnightly check in posts in this subreddit to keep in touch with the community, and provide others with a safe space to talk about their issues and feelings without judgement as a devotional act to Lord Apollon (you might have seen them if you were here late 2023/2024)

After taking a longgggg break from my religion and worship, I've decided I want to start again with these posts.

so, how are you? please tell me what's happening in your life, any updates in your worship, something you've done in the past week that you're proud of, any offerings you've made, how you are in general, just anything 😭😭 I'd love to know

I'll start, I started again with my worship 3 weeks ago now and am definitely feeling much more secure in myself and my life. I started praying to Apollon again because I was in a very bad situation and felt I needed his help again. Ive managed to get back into the routine of praying, offering, and doing devotional acts, so I'm proud about that. I found myself in another bad situation last night, so this morning I decided to pour a larger than usual glass of wine as an offering to Apollon and asked for general protection in return, something I have done many times before. In the past week I've done some devotional acts to him, and am planning on doing more tomorrow.

please feel free to talk about anything you like, I'm always open for a conversation about anything! whether that be your current struggles, or ideas for offerings, literally anything.

and, finally, Apollon would like me to remind you to take care of yourself 🫶🫶

Devotional acts to Lord Apollon ☀ + how are you?

Hi everyone!

just wanted to share what I've done today to honor Lord Apollon.

today was the first day since I got back into Hellenism that I could actually focus on worship and devotional acts, and so I chose to devote today to Apollon.

I prayed this morning, thanked him for bringing the sun and for my good health and other stuff like I usually do, also asked for protection while I was out of the house. Then I headed out to the charity shop I volunteer in. I chose to do this because I think it's good for my mental and physical health, also the charity does a lot of mental health support and support for the LGBT community, things I think are highly important to Lord Apollon. I also looked for new things for my altar while I was out. I picked up the glass from another charity shop and the candle from a local witchy shop because my current one is nearly finished. during all of this, I tried to keep him in mind and also listened to my playlist I made for him.

when I got home, I gave an offering of wine (in the new glass) and incense. I also lit the new candle.

I definitely feel like my relationship with him is stronger after everything I've done today, and also I feel a lot better both mentally and physically after devoting the day to my patron god (do we still use that phrase? 😭). During the day I did get a few signs from him, including a lotttt of crows/ravens, and also a crow feather as I was walking to the charity shop to volunteer.

what have you done recently as devotional acts to the gods? and also, just generally how are you? I used to post check-in posts in this sub but haven't for a few years, and I do miss hearing how everyone is doing. so.. how are you? please tell me, I'd love to know! 🫶

Vegetarian here! How do I make my diet more vegan?

I became vegetarian a few years ago now and would never even dream about going back to eating meat. I have recently become very aware of the state of the dairy and milk industries and want to do something about my intake of them.

I still live with my parents, and I do not have a job (I am trying! job market is hell right now 😭) so I can't afford anything that's more expensive than normal. I also consume a lot of dairy, mainly milk and yoghurts. my main source of protein is Quorn, but I know some products contain egg. I don't eat just straight egg or anything, only when it's in something else.

I was thinking about slowly reducing my intake, because completely cutting everything out is very unreasonable for me right now.

If anyone else has been in a similar situation, please give me advice 🙏 also I would like some recommendations of substitutes! only milk substitute I've tried so far is banana flavoured oat milk.. which was nice! Id just like some other recommendations

AITAH for cancelling on a prepayed trip?

TW!!

I was supposed to be going to London with my friend today for a 4 day trip to look at unis. the transport and accommodation were already payed for at least a week before (I think).

I have been feeling incredibly burnt out, and my friend told me that I would have to pay for food and stuff while we were there. I am in a difficult place financially right now, so I said I would try to make it work but it ended up being unrealistic. so, I told my friend (through my girlfriend) about how I was feeling. didn't cancel at first, my girlfriend just told her that I was feeling unsure and that I'm burnt out and that I didn't want to tell her about it myself because I didn't want to let her down. my girlfriend texted her about this 1 week ago now. (hopefully that makes sense 😭)

anyway, after my girlfriend texted her, she completely flipped and called me a fucking bitch, blocked me, then started telling my girlfriend that I should self harm and that I should OD basically. I have in the past, which she knows about because she was the FIRST person I ever told about that. she said 'her attempts should have worked' and 'should have taken more pills', also that I should 'slit deeper'.

I understand being pissed off, but I feel that was a complete overreaction. she has other people to take with her, and she could take her parents or sibling instead.

I tried to talk to her again after she blocked me, which resulted in her saying 'the fact you think you're still coming is hilarious', which I thought was a very clear message that I'm not invited anymore. then she texts me the next day asking if I'm still coming. I can't remember exactly what I said, but I do remember making a point that I was definitely no longer going because she made it clear to me the day before. she also made it clear that she didn't want to be friends anymore.

she said everything she said was heat of the moment because she was overwhelmed. obviously I can't talk for other people, but I have never wished death upon my friends because I was overwhelmed.

she then texted me a few days ago AGAIN asking if we're still friends. I said no because she made it VERY clear that she didn't want to be, also why would I want to be after she's said that?

that conversation ended in her saying 'I never wanted to be your friend in the first place, I feel like a weight has been lifted', to which I immediately blocked her. she then sent me a text on Instagram saying 'it should have worked bro' (referring to my attempts again.)

hopefully that all makes sense. so.. am I the asshole? was I a bad friend? or was her reaction completely unnecessary?

ALSO! we volunteer at a charity shop together.. should i still go? should I go on a different day? that's what I'm most worried about after losing her as a friend lol 😭😭

tips for getting back into worship?

(no idea what flair to put lol 😭)

hi! small backstory, I used to be extremely devoted to hellenism a few years ago but I went through some life stuff which meant I lost my religion. I used to post on here regularly and loved the comunity when I did.

I still think about it regularly, and still have my (now very dusty) altar. I've recently been through some pretty big life changes and am feeling very lost and like I need guidance from my gods again. on top of that, I recently travelled to Greece and kept seeing or feeling the need to look for Apollo everywhere. Apollo is the God I used to have the strongest relationship with when I was practicing hellenism, so I felt like that meant something/is a sign I need to get back into my religion.

I remember my basics but have forgotten a lotttt of stuff, so any tips would be greatly appreciated.

thank you 🫶🫶

looking for friends

hi everyone!

Ive been going through an incredibly hard time recently after losing my friends. I currently have 0 friends, only my girlfriend but we're long distance so I can't see her that often.

so, I'm looking for more friends 😭 I just want people to be around so I can enjoy my city again tbh.

I'm 17f (I will feel more comfortable texting first), I love concerts and music, my favorite band is Gorillaz, I love travel, thrifting and charity shops, Alton towers, and I'm definitely a girls girl lol.

if anyone else is looking for friends and thinks we'll get along, or if you have any advice, please don't hesitate to get in touch 🙏🙏

How different were the theory questions you hadn't seen before?

I have my theory test on Thursday and I've managed to convince myself that I'll fail 😭

I've been using the DVSA Theory test kit app and I've done like 22 mock tests, passed all of them. I feel like I'll fail because I haven't actually read the highway code, only checked it a few times for confirmation on some things. this is why I feel like I won't pass, cause I feel like Im only memorising the questions in the mock tests.

has anyone else been in this situation? what happened? please let me know 😭😭

Snapchat keeps opening to camera

hi everyone,

I recently had to factory reset my phone. I have tried to video call one of my friends which does work but when I exit the app, the normal picture-in-picture either isn't there, or the screen is a condensed version of the main camera screen. when I open the app, even if I was on chats, it just opens to the camera. I've checked the settings, permissions, and uninstalled and reinstalled the app. anyone know what to do to fix it? thank you
