Nearest Apple Store is 3 hours round trip. Ordered backup refurbished iPad 9 from Apple this week. Taking wife’s iPad 9 to Geek Squad today, appointment was setup through Apple Care.

Greek Squad called 7 hours before appointment. Guy was giving me a heads up that it will be a week before Apple will send replacement or repaired unit. Also he told me Apple has not supported lightning connector for over half a decade.

Well Apple just sold me a refurbished device, with a lightning connector, it was immaculate upon receipt.

Insulting customer’s intelligence is not a business strategy.

Switched to ATT fiber this week for more consistent uptime. Unintended Consquence, better picture on all devices.

Good bye, farewell Spectrum.

A great relationship that started in 2013 under Charter, a brief geographical break, then return 5 years ago. Constant, continuous adversarial relationship built upon running 21st Century technology over 1970’s coaxial cable.

14 months ago Spectrum assigned our IP address to an apartment complex 100 miles away. After a weekend of exposure, denials even saying my computer was the problem, for ing resetting all my critical passwords, an advanced Spectrum tech identified the problem as Spectrum’s not my computer.

This week we were without internet for 2 days. Spectrum techs said it was our third party router, we went to Spectrum store got a new modem and router. Same problem. Called Spectrum, this tech identified the problem immediately, set up service call. Spectrum came out and repaired at street, installed yet another modem. Problem solved.

In the past I followed up with Spectrum, stated my case, threatened to leave for ATT, got lower rate.

This time no call to Spectrum. The call was to ATT. ATT fiber is installed, phones ported over to ATT. Spectrum equipment returned.

Free at last. Free at last.

Heavy rainstorm today. Never fully lost power. Spectrum Router on Surge Protector and Battery Backup. Lost internet. Did all the restarts manually and on line. Could not get either of our routers to connect. Went to Spectrum store. Got new modem. Signed up for Spectrum routers and extenders. Got home, new modem the same problem. CS rep who was walking us through the setup said you need a tech.

This is the second time in a little over a year that Spectrum has made my son and I prove Spectrum is the problem, not us.

Last year our modem was reassigned the IP address for an apartment complex 100 miles away.

We will be without internet for at least 2 full days. Assuming tech can get us running.

Have already begun researching ATT as alternative.

For weeks have had problem when streaming early hours of PGA Golf on ESPN+. During commercials each commercial would get in a repetitive buffering loop. Would have to manually forward when time became available.

Using M2 MBA up to date OS (happened before and after recent update), Private Browsing or NordVPN, Duck DuckGo browser. Spectrum is ISP.

Called Spectrum, initially told me to delete app and reinstall. Had to remind them I was on a Mac, no app. Then they gave me the number for ESPN+ technical support.

Called ESPN+ tech, they advised to use Google Chrome. I said no.

Safari is my default get the news, order products browser. DuckDuckGo is my primary streaming browser, Spectrum TV, YT, Audacity Radio etc.

Tried Firefox, all is good no more, repetitive buffering.

Wife and son gave me a KBT last year. They were tired of my obsessing over having to replace cheap coffee makers because of product failures. MM won the contest for Buy It For Life. Had outpatient surgery this week. Had to talk my wife who had given up coffee decades ago, through MM set up. I use pre ground beans, but the unique MM parts she found confusing. I will be doing it myself soon, real soon.
