the happy bubble broke

green bean here

i had a stressful shift today

was literally on the verge of crying on spot

ik that’s generic but im scared if i include details my store ppl will know exactly who im

im a student and i just wanted something part time to self fund. and now suddenly it just feels too demanding. like my time isn’t being respected. i really don’t think i can keep up if my studies suffer.

and then since im new idk whom to talk to about this either at my store. i felt really lonely today. usually i love being cheerful and bringing positivit everywhere but today i felt like my heart was just numb. and im an hsp (if anyone gets that) and I DONT KNOW HOW WILL I HANDLE CLASSES AND THIS

im usually asleep by now but rn i feel so stressed from what happened hours ago that i cant sleep and im still numb from holding back tears earlier and this is just like

really overwhelming

im not talking about the learning part being too overwhelming, its just dealing with boundaries feels so overwhelming

i don’t want to work extra hours. i don’t care about earning too much. im just trying to fund my own personal expenses.

my manager just snapped at me today. i didnt like the tone i was talked in.

i took up this job because i like interacting with ppl. and so far all the customers have been so nice. same for partners around me. the problem is long hours. that’s not what i want, neither what i need. and that’s what they’re pushing me to do. and i just hate that

so yeah, just need a hug

how do yall survive

edit: added a bunch of stuff to post. earlier i was so frozen up that i couldn’t write a lot.

does amc aviation 12 have 1.85 aspect ratio?

I really wanna watch spiderman brand new day in a dolby that has 1.85 and not 2.something
I’m open to going via train so don’t want any theatres that are more than 1-2 miles from NJ transit, and aviation 12 seems to be the one

can anyone confirm if aviation 12 indeed has 1.85 for dolby?
thank you!

p.s. couldn’t find a flair for “questions” so added advice

international credit transfer help

i’m a transfer student (a rising junior) looking forward to starting my jr year at NJIT this fall. i’m a little frustrated with the international credit transfer process and would like any advice or guidance about how to maximise the credits I can get transferred

background: I already covered intro level classes (like organic chem, physics, pre calc, calc 1, calc 2) in 11-12th since that’s the norm in my country

the course differential equation and transforms maps onto two courses at NJIT: MATH 222 and MATH 322
however I was only given credit for 322. can I get one course from my previous institute mapped onto two?
this same issue came up with 2 other math courses

when it comes to CS, I have a course data structures and algorithms (covers basics of data structures like stacks queues hash maps trees graphs BST)
and I have a second course design and analysis of algorithms that deals with approaches like greedy, backtracking, branch and bound and so on
and also covers the graph algorithms (like ford fulkerson) and geometric algorithms (like sweep)

any idea on which courses these two best map onto?

lastly as I mentioned I covered most of the basic courses of physics, chemistry and math during 11-12th grades. is there a way I could request credits for that? since I clearly see the syllabi of those courses aligning with some NJIT intro courses

i’m a little stressed out so thought i’d ask for advice
any general tips from other transfer students as well as non CS majors are also welcome!
thank you for all the help!

amc A-list question

what if i join a list rn, and go there for 3 months and then opt out?

during this time say i book avengers doomsday (dec 2026) and i cancel in oct end 2026. would i still keep doomsday ticket?

i just realised im watching so many movies this month that a list would be too good to be true for me 🫠

also hypothetically, say i keep 3 future reservations and 1 reservation is for weekly. can i actually see 16 movies per month at best?

is there a good minimalist study timer?

i've used forest app for years, and recently they added too many features which feels overstimulating to me.

the issue i have with forest app is too many trees and the daily challenges. it's like fatigue due to choices? i miss the time when the app was simpler.

i dont really want so many options and trees to choose from, rather want an app that i can somewhat personalise, and the main focus of the app is to act as a simple, minimalist timer.

it can also be synced across app and website, and i can use it on all 3 devices - phone, tablet, laptop (i use all apple)

and bonus if it has widgets

pls recommend the study timer you use!

i use frequently when i need a lot of deep work sessions and stuff

do yall miss older days of forest?

i definitely miss the olden days
especially the ones before plus was introduced or focus challenge was introduced

i use forest for studying and want studying to be the focus, not forest or its daily tasks
a part of me gets overstimulated about daily tasks. my default is to use the same tree over and over again, since that way the focus is on studying and not the forest app, however due to daily tasks ill end up picking a particular tree

i think that distracts me

does anyone else feel the same and miss the minimalist version of forest?
also, got me wondering, if yall know any ad free timer similar to forest which is a bit more minimalist

i love forest and have used it for years, i just miss the minimalism since personally that’s what i loved about forest
it was about studying to me, than about the timer being gamified, yk?

how’s the bus system like and how do you navigate the large campus? (Computer science)

i’m a prospective transfer student, transferring to RU-NB in coming fall starting third year, and i’m studying computer science

i wonder what day to day looks like for someone studying computer science, how often do you take bus?
basically how long does it take between classes to move from once class to another, especially in 3rd and 4th year?
and per day how much time/miles do you end up walking just for switching classes

i come from a big campus, and kinda hated the distance part cause walking too much got me tired, so i wanted to know what’s it like for yall

recommendations for markouts

medium roast green bean here!
I wanted to make cold brew at home and was wondering what’s the best bean bag I can take as the weekly bean markout specifically for cold brew
(I do like the cold brew flavour from Starbucks so something closer to that)

Also bean markout recommendations for french press hot coffee? (I like medium and dark roast and like it kinda bitter, chocolatey and flavour ful)

Lastly, any bakery or treat recommendations that’s actually really good?
