The Silver Case is the single best detective fiction I have read. The end.

I have started replaying this VN years after reading it as a teenager and understanding nothing, and now that I do understand it, I believe that it is truly the peak of detective fiction writing. The horror, the atmosphere, the tragedy, the world building through themes, the characters, it’s all perfect. 0 notes.

Universal Comp Buffs/Debuffs

Recently I’ve been thinking of this idea that might be a bit of a hot take - a team wide buff or nerf that automatically applies when certain comp types are played, for instance when 3+ heavy poke/artillery oriented champions are played on a team, the team gets a 5% damage nerf, or if an all melee team is being played against a team with 2+ ranged carries, the team gets a 5% damage reduction 10+ tenacity buff and so on. I think it’d make people reconsider what they pick in aram, as well as open up a space for the less “desirable” bruiser rolls that can be really painful to enjoy in certain setups.

Why was the advanced tab removed from boy creation/editting

It’s really irritating me. There is absolutely 0 reason to have removed that. Now bots have lost their subtleties and nuances in dialogue and all sound the fucking same

Gambits Could’ve been Even Better

the first thing I think of when I look at gambits is Boolean/programming logic (if x is true, then y happens, else check if z is true), and while gambits are fun, I always felt they could do with some extra refinement. Imagine nested gambits that checks for two conditions before activating (i.e if enemy is undead and self mp > 50%, cast Curaja, else do not cast it to prioritize mp for healing gambits), or imagine a gambit that turns itself off momentarily if a certain condition is met, like black magics if foe status = reflect, for example. There are so many possibilities that could have existed, and I think it’s a shame gambits were never brought back after that.

Notes on League Classic as someone who did not experience it back then

While deeply imperfect, I find league classic to have a genuine beauty and potential in its mechanics, weird items, rune pages, mastery pages, and champions. There is so much flavor that has been lost over the years. The game was slow in such a way that was oddly refreshing compared to today’s dash-fest of a game, and items had really unique, quirky identities and niche usage cases that somehow worked alongside the odd gold generating runes or crit runes, rather than today’s meta indulging stat check rube pages. It really feels like something interesting has been lost to time.

Quick Rant

I’m going for the platinum and only the bestiary/trial mode are left. Anyway, some of the rare hunt spawn conditions are genuinely both unintuitive and incredibly mundane to follow, especially the “wait in this area for x minutes” hunts. Truly a product of its time.

Rant over. Love this game though.

Looking into Sekhmet’s story, symbol and comparing it to my own natal birth chart has revealed something interesting. I am a Leo sun Aries moon and Leo rising with Leo stellium born on the hottest days of August, and I feel on an intuitive level that I have some affinity to this particular lion goddess that I can harness. Interested in your thoughts.
