Change rectangle to rhombus

I have a path that has equal sized lines spaced at specific spacing. It is a fret pattern for a given guitar.

I have created the frets but I need to taper the cuts, wider as the fretboard gets wider.

I have all 22 frets in a single tool path.

Think of a metal ladder where the base is wider than the top: each rung is a fret.

Tests 1 and 2 complete

After a few false starts, I have this.

The shape is cut, the slots all cut and standard fretwire fits.

Next, radiusing the fretboard.

Note: few frets to check cut spacing. Spot on. 12th fret is spot on.

Next up: using cnc to make a radius.

Replacing Strap Buttons

I have a guitar who's strap buttons don't fit my Schaller strap locks.

Do I:

Change the strap buttons, saving the originals

Or try and find locks to fit the buttons.

Note: this is my most valuable guitar.

Weekend humor break

What is the difference between a rock guitarist, and a jazz guitarist?

One plays three chords in front of thousands of people, the other plays thousands of chords in front of three people.

NGD! My First 7 string!

Just got a bucket list guitar and it is a 7 string.

I have never held one, but this was a Howard Alden model Benedetto.

Where do I start to look for 7th string lessons or tips?

NGD! A bucket list guitar

I have wanted a Benedetto for over a decade.

One came up on Reverb and it fit my wish list, a great jazz guitar.

This is one you have seen online.

I just have to learn how to play a 7 string, moving pentatonic scales, and develop a better sense of tempo and pitch.

NGD! G6128 '59

FedEx found it and delivered it 4 days late.

It was worth the wait.

No Bigsby (my Duesy has one).

One thing: I don't understand the controls.

Nothing in the box.

Narrowing Down My Choices

I am looking at a modern version of the original Duo Jet that Grestch brought out to challenge the original Les Paul.

The 6228 seems close enough.

Is this an analogue of the original?

Got a brand new guitar. When buying it I didn't see any issues.

Got home and opened the case and found damage.

Why didn't I see it? It was under my right arm while I was playing. Note the pictures.

Do I return it and exchange it or ask for 500 to fix it?

GC had a closeout on this:

Rickenbacker 1993Plus Semi-hollowbody Electric Guitar - Fireglo.

I couldn't resist.

I am now an honorary dentist.
