Why is it impossible to buy parts?

I have a C10FCG2 miter saw, less than a year old, that needs a couple of small replacement parts. I’ve identified the parts and have the part numbers. But I cannot buy them.

I looked online, but ereplacementparts doesn’t have parts for that model. I reached out to Metabo HPT and they said to go to ereplacementparts, go through a retailer like Ace, or if I had an account I could order myself. I don’t have an account to my knowledge, but was not then offered the option to make one. I asked at Ace and they had no idea what I was talking about.

METABO. YOU HAVE PARTS. I HAVE MONEY. SURELY WE CAN MAKE THIS HAPPEN‽

Did "Auto" appearance setting stop working as of 26.6?

My "auto" setting now stays on light mode all the time. Back to having to manually switch it, it seems.

What to do with crown molding at this corner?

The cabinet ends maybe 1/8”-1/16” short of the end of the wall. I can’t figure out how to make crown moulding work here.

Just got the 18v misting fan. Does the pump need priming or anything the first time you use it? Mine’s not spraying any water.

Yes, the pump is hanging down in a bucket of water, and both the fan and misting switch are set to high. The pump just makes a dull humming sound.

Edit: The humming comes from the main unit. The end of the pump in the water doesn’t seem to do anything at all.

Works fine on the hose. I think the pump is just garbage. This is disappointing.

Do not trust Mail.app's "Send Later" feature when it's important

I've had more than one occasion now when I'm working late and I schedule emails to send in the morning at 8am. Most of the time this works, but every now and then I find a whole batch of them still sitting there saying they'll send at the scheduled date and time, even if that date and time has passed! Once I found them there days after they were supposed to send. I almost missed out on getting a job because of this.

I know on at least one of the occasions, my MacBook was closed (asleep) and not plugged in. I was still logged in though, Mail was running, and it was in my home with wifi the whole time. So maybe the feature only works if you're awake and/or on power? But even if that's the case, once it does eventually wake up or get plugged in, it should send the emails, not sit there saying that it "will" send them at a time that's already passed.

I'm not saying never use the feature. But do not put your trust in it when it's important. Always verify the messages actually sent.

Most of the times I've used it it's worked fine. But it's not reliable enough to be trusted when it matters.

Will Ryobi ever fix the iOS app so that's it's not quite literally useless?

Every few months I try it again, but I still can't get past the initial login screen. Entering my password and hitting submit does nothing.

Looking at reviews sorted by "recent", it sounds like it's far from an isolated incident.

WTF is the point of having to tap on a chest three times?

When I finish a lesson, I just want to move on, but I swear I have to tap more times to get through all the post-lesson screens than I do in the actual lesson. Way too many.

But particularly egregious is that dumb screen with a chest that you have to tap on three times to open and get some gems or some kinda useless shit like that. other screens already give you post-lesson gems. What does this screen add other than several MORE taps and shit you have to wade through to get to the lessons? Even if there’s a good reason to have the chest, WHY DO WE HAVE TO TAP IT SO MANY TIMES‽‽ It adds nothing!

Does anybody else hate this?

Opinions on Strait-Flex Perfect 90?

I have a small project coming up, and some I have mudding experience, I’m far from a pro. The biggest advantage of this stuff in my case, from how they market it, is that they say you can bed it and feather each side all in one go, no need to mud into the corner, and it’s ready for paint. This would save me days and multiple trips out to the jobsite. Otherwise it’s tape, then return another day to mud one side, then another day to mud the other, and maybe 2 more days fit an additional coat.

Does it actually work that well in practice? does it get fuzzy when you sand since it says it doesn’t need to be coated all the way into the corner?
