Prazosin and hypermobility

I have hypermobility and orthostatic hypotension with tachichardia. I also have PTSD symptoms (anxiety, perpetually in fight or flight) so my GP and psychiatrist gave me Prazosin. My blood pressure and blood volume are low, which they know, but whenever I'm in the clinic, it obviously is a healthy number because I'm stressed out. This is the only med they'll give me for anxiety (aside from SSRI which I've been on for over 20 years) but I'm worried it'll lower my BP even more. Knowing I'm extremely sensitive to any meds is also a worry. Anyone have any positive or negative responses to Prazosin?

Anyone else here hypermobile?

I've recently realised how much my hypermobility is affecting my mental health issues and am wondering if anyone else has problems with it too. I'm more sensitive to medication, more prone to neurodivergence, have no concept of my body in space which adds to my dissociation. Looking for fellow bendy people who are also dealing with CPTSD

Medication loop

I have PTSD and anxiety/hypervigilance. I'm also extremely sensitive to meds in general. Trying to treat my PTSD symptoms is brutal with POTS. Psychiatrist wants me on beta blockers and Prazosin (which lowers blood pressure) but I feel so faint and drained, I can't tolerate them. My blood pressure and blood volume are so low, I feel stuck in a medication loop. Benzos are the only med to help that don't lower my BP too much, but are addictive and not prescribed where I am. Anyone else in the same boat?

Acquired neurodivergence

I only just discovered this concept. I have so many symptoms of ADHD and autism. As a kid, I showed no ADHD traits (I was very shy and quiet) and no real autistic traits either. Since I was diagnosed with CPTSD about three years ago, I've noticed how much I relate to neurodivergence but I know there's a strong Venn diagram overlap. I sometimes think it'll be better if I explain I'm neurodivergent rather than have trauma... Somehow it feels like less stigma. Or maybe I was on the spectrum all along?

Burke and SA

Everyone seems to be putting the SA on John but what about Burke? I read somewhere that he used to play doctor with JBR? I'm approaching this theory from personal experience in childhood SA, from other children my age, so it's not completely unfounded.

Interviews

I'm new to this case ( I had a vague memory of it when I was in high school, but never looked into it). Holy fuck... I'm watching the Nine News interview and it's insane that there are people out there who think they weren't involved. It's actually laughable. John's constant lip licking is aggravating me and Patsy's overacting is physically sickening. They are constantly swallowing and looking left (dead give away of lying) and it's all just so ridiculous. I honestly can't fathom how these people have gotten away with it. I understand evidence and reasonable doubt... But come on, this is insanity

Staircase

I noticed in an interview that the housekeeper said that Patsy would leave her handbags to be cleaned on the bottom on the staircase... Thought that was interesting, given the placement of the ransom note. I'm in a deep rabbit hole at the moment so I can't remember what interview it was, sorry!

Black and White thinking

I'm struggling with black and white thinking. I have OCD, which doesn't help, but I'm pretty sure that the root cause is CPTSD and feeling unsafe. For example, I have to have a clear answer for things, no grey area. Are they good or bad? Am I good or bad? Am I too needy or is he/she too avoidant? I can't sit in confusion or uncomfortableness. I also don't understand how people can sit with "two feelings/things can be true at the same time". I can't fathom in my mind how my parents are abusive but that they didn't intentionally mean it. Does anyone know what I mean? I sometimes feel like I'm going crazy...

I am a liar

I lie chronically. And have done my whole life. The shame of it is horrendous. I figured out that it's to people please. To try and get people to like me. To connect with others. To get out of doing things I don't want to speak up about. I don't know how to stop or how to reduce the utter shame I feel from a lifetime of being so fake. Does anyone know what I mean? It feels lonely and embarrassing

People in authority make me cry

I got pulled over by the police for speeding today. I absolutely lost it and couldn't stop crying. A deep visceral wail that I couldn't control. This happens when I'm confronted with authority figures, specifically male. I'm guessing it's from my dad beating the shit out of us as kids. It feels like whatever normal people can just brush off, I get lost in which further fuels my mother's constant lifelong complaint of me being "too sensitive". I struggle to do what people do everyday and the shame is incredibly deep. Everything is a trigger, it seems. I had a horrid day and no one understands, so thought I'd reach out here. The posts here make me feel less alone and broken

Stuck on 14mm

My transparent diffuser card has come out (well, when I bought it off Marketplace it wasn't disclosed that this was the case...) and I've bought a replacement. I can't get it into the unit. I bought the replacement because it's stuck on thinking it's at 14mm. Should I do open surgery on it? It won't click back in on its own, it seems

Anyone tried Pregabalin?

And what dose? I've heard good things about it and am on 25mg but don't notice a big shift. I feel like increasing it might help my nervous system regulation and OCD/looping thoughts.

I feel like I'm going insane. Undianosed but my father has it and I have many, many symptoms (heart rate goes from 60 to 135 when brushing my teeth, for example). My blood pressure and blood volume are low (90/50 most days) but I have PTSD and GAD, so am in constant flight or fight and hypervigilance. I've been prescribed Propranolol but when I stand, I feel like I'm going to pass out (10mg) if I take it. I'm stuck in a really horrible, frustrating situation and my general practitioner has no interest in helping/diagnosing ("What is a tilt test??"). I plan to see a cardiologist but it's expensive where I live. I just need some encouragement that I'm not going crazy and that this is manageable because I'm in tears. Edit to add that I also have EDS, which has its own issues...
