I've been thinking that Maxie Zeus could work really well. A crazy gangster that thinks he's the re-incarnation of Zeus (and in some versions he even has electric powers).
I also think Clayface could be interesting, just because they are both made of clay.
This is mostly speculation, but I'm posting anyway, because I'm interested in about what the sub's theories on the series are.
I 100% believe Connor's death was a fakeout. Too much on the nose.
Edvin Zytle is probably Absolute's Vertigo father. What if the poison in the arrows is Vertigo? In the Arrow show it was turned into a drug. And New 52's Vertigo was a victim of experimentation as a child.
Right now, what I believe is that whoever made the ten-eyed experiments on the boy is controlling Oliver's re-animated corpse and using it as his enforcer. Similar to>! The Headless Horseman and The Witch!< in Sleepy Hollow.
The Green Arrow logo is three lines forming one single Arrow. I think it's going to be three people involved. One as The Killer, another one as his handler, and someone on the inside. I think the third one is Dinah, she's obviously not a part of the operation, but she is being groomed by the handler to become it's third member.
Since the Halloween canon is pretty messy, this post only applies to the first movie. In some of the sequels he's clearly inmortal and there's some supernatural explanation for his habilities, so this wouldn't add up.
I recently came across the story of Charles Whitman, who comited a mass shooting before he himself was shot down by police. Whitman was apparently a regular guy, until one day his behavior started to change. During his autopsy it was discovered that he had a brain tumor, and it's been theorized that this was the cause of his sudden change.
"Charles Whitman was a former U.S. Marine and engineering student who had no documented history of psychosis. In the months preceding the shooting, he reported increasing headaches, irritability, emotional volatility, and violent ideation. On the night before the attack, Whitman killed his wife and mother, leaving notes stating that he did not understand his own actions and requesting an autopsy to determine whether a brain disorder was present."
"The postmortem examination revealed a glioblastoma multiforme located in the right temporal lobe. The tumor was reported to compress or distort adjacent limbic structures, including the amygdala. At the time, the amygdala was already recognized as central to fear processing, aggression modulation, and emotional salience."
"Whitman’s actions involved extensive planning, the procurement of weapons, and the execution of complex goal-directed behavior, features often cited as evidence against complete loss of agency. At the same time, his reported emotional changes and explicit concern about a possible brain disorder complicate a purely volitional interpretation."
That made me think about Michael Myers. He was apparently a normal boy, until he stabbed his sister. During that event he also lost the hability to speak.
Michael's first crime and emprisonment happened in 1963, Whitman's actions were perpetrated in 66; so the concept was rather new, it makes sense that no one during his 15 year emprisonment considered a tumor as the reason behind his actions.
That may also explain why Michael is so resistent. It's been shown he feels pain and can be hurt, but if the tumor causes him to have highly aggresive impulses, that would explains how he can rise over and over. There's been people who have been stabbed during fights, but because of the adrenaline rush they didn't feel it until it was over.
But why doesn't he speak? Whitman claimed he did not understand his own actions. I believe Michael was traumatized after killing his sister.
To me Michael is like a child playing a trick on Halloween. He's not only aiming to kill, but to scare. He did steal some ropes in advance, with the intention of placing the bodies as if they were Halloween decorations.
(I also don't think he understands death, just that once he's done with is victims, they cannot get scared anymore. After killing Judith, the trick was over. So he searches for more Judiths).
I think what happens when he gets unmasked is that it brings him back to reality. This is not a fantasy, nor a trick; it's very real. That's why the script refers to him as The Shape, despite the fact that we know his true name. He's like a little kid dressed like The Hulk and pretending to be The Hulk, only taken to an extreme.
First Pic: Jorge Jimenez.
Second/Third Pic: Darwyn Cooke.
Fourth Pic: Sinizade_Art (I love the tattoos).
Fifth Pic: Travist Charest.
Last Pic/Special Mention: Controversial, but I love Frank Miller's take on the costume.
Personally I think it can work, I love the Concept Art piece from MoS (first picture). But I hated the design in Injustice, and thought it looked weird on Erradicator.
Probably it's just me, but I feel the artists where trying really hard to make Ollie look like Charlie Hunnam because he was the popular fancast at the time (considering he almost played the role, they weren't far off).
I'm surprised I haven't seen it posted here.
Bermejo made the white gloves into surgeon gloves.
His argument for the latex shirt was that he thought Frank wouldn't care about dying or getting hurt after losing his family.
(When i mention the comics, I'm mostly talking about The Ennis MAX version)
In the comics, The Punisher was created in the war, but Frank Castle didn't disappear until his family did. While in the MCU Frank's human side refuses to die.
Even though I agree with some of the criticisms, like that they overplayed his "wanting to be normal" (one of the main cores of the character is that Frank just cannot stop fighting) and didn't fully embrace Punisher to his full potential, that's one change I particularly like. To me the real tragedy of Frank is that if his family hadn't been murdered, there would had been a chance for him to lead a normal life (that's why I dislike when they make him destined to become The Punisher anyway, or straight up not caring for them). Making him deeply traumatized by the murders more than ten years later, and even contemplating suicide, is a great interpretation. And Bernthal really shines in those scenes.
Still, if we get another show I hope we get a full season of him being full-Punisher.
If Marvel were to make another Ultimate Universe after Endgame, here's what my Fan-Pitch would be. I just did this for fun.
Since I don't know how Endgame and Finale are going to end, I'm going to have to theorize a little bit.
Ever since the beginning I had the feeling The Maker has been acting quite carelessly, as if he didn't care much for the outcome. Here's my theory on the why: It's been shown that he can split into several bodies and we know he can travel across The Multiverse; he doesn't care if he loses because this Maker is only one of many, this isn't the only Universe where he is doing this. He doesn't want to remake a world, but existence itself. A Council of Makers connected trough a hive mind.
So The Ultimates send Ultron's memory (who was acting as The Watcher and recording everything) into another reality, to warn them of his possible coming.
And so another Maker was stopped when he first stepped foot on Earth 1616.
His mauled body is kept locked by the man who found the recording. Known by many names across the ages to protect his identity; they once called him Mar Vell, but he now goes by The Watcher.
He visits him in his cell each day, staring at him without saying a word. The Maker does speak to him; taunting him and toying with his mind. Letting him now the Council of Makers will come for this Earth.
The Watcher is a man from the future, that found the recording sent from Earth 6160.
He has a re-created Inmortus Engine, which he used to travel back several centuries, staying there and scheeming behind the scenes to strengthen the Earth. He ages very slowly, but time is starting to catch up with him.
He had The Engine manipulated to make time travel impossible in-universe after his first trip, so no one will stop his plan.
He finally stepped out of the shadows and introduced himself to the heads of several intelligence agencies from around the world in 1962. Offering them knowledge and technology in return for obedience.
He has helped tyrants rise and caused the destruction of civilizations who weren't strong enough for his world. Forcing himself to become a monster in order to stop The Council. One world is a small price to pay to save millions of them.
The Watcher lives in The Future Foundation building, inside the island of Dystopia.
THE CABAL:
Each member of The Cabal has one small Zodiac Key for mysterious pruposes. Not even they know why.
MIDNIGHT SONS: In a world where Victor Von Doom never meet Reed Richards, he ended up becoming Rabum Alal, Sorcerer Supreme.
Leading the Magic community, The Midnight Sons, alongside his wife Valeria, and his two advisors; Baron Karl Mordo and Esteban De Ablo.
SPEAR: The United States main espionage agency. Led by Nick Fury; a codename worn by several spies since 1945, with the eye patch and a bionic arm being the only constants between them:
-The Original Sargeant Fury: died after being shot in the head in 1945.
-The Agent of SPEAR: 19 year old James Barnes, survived the event that took the life of Captain America, with the loss of one arm and an eye. The Goverment wanted to pretend Cap and Bucky were still alive, so Barnes was given the identity of a dead soldier and put in charge of SPEAR.
-The Sam Jackson one: By the late 80s, agent Marcus Johnson was rescued after being captured and tortured by Leviathan. Johnson was near death when Barnes offered him the oportunity to become his successor.
What Johnson didn't know at the time is that his capture had been staged to set him to become the new Fury.
-The Current One: The identity of the man who currently wears the Fury codename is a mystery (since Ennis made his version look like Clint Eastwood and Millar made his look like Sam Jackson, let's say this one looks like Bruce Willis).
The Iron Patriot: Stark Industries was near bankrupted after the death of Howard Stark and the disappearance of his son Tony. Norman Osborn brought what remained of it, and Oscorp became the biggest tech company in the world.
As The Iron Patriot he is the most known hero in the US.
The Mandroids: SPEAR's robot drones, made by Oscorp.
LEVIATHAN: In a world where the iron courtain never fell, Leviathan is the Soviet Union espionage agency. Led by General Orion, who took control of the country in the early 80s. The armor he uses to stay alive, also forces him to remain in hivernation for long periods of time, during which he let's President Ivan Petrovitch run the country.
The Red Guard: Soldiers unit.
The Crimson Dynamos: Robot drones.
The Black Widows: Army of assassins, cloned from soviet former spy Natalia Romanova. Dr. Melina Vostokoff is the physician in charge of checking out if they are fit for duty after being awoken from stasis.
THE INMORTAL WEAPONS: In 1963, Xu Wenwu, a Chinese scientist was brought by his goverment to investigate the crash of an alien spaceship. There he found 10 powerful rings and used them to take over China.
Giving himself the title of Mandarin Wenwu (it is unkown why, as the term "Mandarin" was a mistranslation from the Portuguese). He resides in the Heavenly Cities that float above the country, alongside his team of Warlords; The Seven Inmortal Weapons.
THE MARAUDERS: Mutants are rare in this Universe. Professor Nathaniel Essex hunts them down and experiments on them in The Weapon X facility. Creating living weapons for The Cabal.
WAKANDA: In 1969, Ulysses Klaue invaded the nation of Wakanda, and executed their king. Wakanda was hidden from the rest of the world, so to this day, no one knows of it's existence or of it's fall.
Klaue has enslaved the once free nation and forces them to dig the Vibranium from beneath their land.
ATLANTIS: The Watcher knew the sea was primordial for his plan, but he considered King Namor to be too emotional and untrustworthy. Namor was executed using a Gamma Bomb and Attuma was instated as the new King.
SKRULLS: The Watcher needed several centuries of scheeming before creating his Cabal, and this is one of the main reasons why. For millenia two species were at war; The Deviants and The Eternals.
The Watcher manipulated the Planetary Machine that brought The Eternals back after each dead, and put them into stasis forever. He was hoping to turn them into living weapons, but their phisiology is too difficult to manipulate, so for now they remain asleep.
The Deviants bodies were too unstable. The Watcher fixed it and made them able to transform at will; as long as they have humans to consume. Renaming themselves Skrulls, they infiltrated themselves inside every organism of Earth; spying and helping their master reach their goal.
Among many other things, they had a hand in creating the Super Soldier formula.
