I binged the hell out of this series in two days. Didn’t like the idea at first, but halfway through episode one I was committed and it had a stranglehold on me.

That being said, I did have some plot and writing questions for fans of this series

Is the manga done better than the anime? I thought the directing and production of the anime was fantastic. But I felt the writing was a mess. I don’t know what else to describe this so please bear with me: it felt like there was no texture to the emotional journey. As soon as Akari showed interest in Jiro for the first time; it felt like there was a lack of proper transitions. A better way to say it is it felt like the anime had a set of events that had to happen and we were just connecting those events. For example; imagine 2 tsundere that acts like less of a tsundere and one acts more. I’m not saying play the trope. I’m saying commit to the thing you’re doing.

One example of this scene in this series was what they were hiding in the shed under the stairs on the beach. You know the seed is going from something erotic to something emotional to Jiro drawing back a little bit because of something Akari said. And somewhat on repeat. I felt that there just was not enough distinction between those moments. And to me that’s a writing issue. Thats just one example.

I’d also like to add there were times where I got some ‘School Days’ ptsd.

Finally please spoil this for me. Do Akari and Jiro end up together?

I have a video game friend living in Texas. What would you suggest I mail to him from Montreal or Canada in general?

I assume ketchup chips is one of them. What else?

This might be a silly question. But I really like the Shoei RF-1400 in a particular design. Its my vibe and matches my bike.

I want to get a 2nd one. But I understand they have an expiry date. Is there a way to extend the 2nd one’s life even if I never open it till I use it?

So let me start off by saying I’m very happy with how this ended.

Now many people have brought up how it’s a filler material ending. Its non-canon etc etc.

I would like to point out that many years ago Bleach’s Kubo had pointed out that the anime would have elements that were not present in the manga. This was around the time TYBW was announced. This is also before translating Japanese tweets was as common so I can’t find the source material, but I’m sure if someone digs enough they’ll find it.

The point is that for awhile its been evident that some series are likely to fall on their face if we leave them to their affairs as manga being the only canon material.

I’m not saying we have to accept ALL filler as legit. But I believe the filler was done here to make an easier transition for the next season. Wistoria should have already been a 24 episode series in the first place. (I’ll leave the argument we’re going back to 24 episodes as the standard for another day)

All that to say. I’m taking the end of this season as canon. It’s apples and oranges but for those of you who are familiar with it; Rurouni Kenshin Trust and Betrayal was also anime only and look how important that was to the overall understanding of the series.

tldr; with current production choices, both in anime and manga, I believe more series have anime only moments that should be considered canon.

For context, I am a Bruins fan who grew up in Montreal, who consumes Toronto media. So maybe I have an identity crisis; but I am a hockey fan first and foremost. One of my all-time favourite players is Phil Kessel and I followed him from day one including his days in Toronto. Both my beer league game and gut are shaped after him.

So I ask this without any ill intentions; but what is/was Leafs’ nations stance on Minten when he was here? Did most of your fans agree with his deployment throughout the lineup or lack there of? I’m not looking for an answer in hindsight I’m more curious if the fan base agreed with how the team had used him.

I don’t understand the discourse against Robertson either. He’s got the chops to be a 30 goal scorer at least if he plays a full season. Yet management and team ask him to be a bottom six slightly defensively responsible player when they know they have a bona fide sniper in him. So to someone who doesn’t differentiate fan base from the team it seems like they’re asking him to be something he’s not while he provides something that they are missing.

From the outside, looking in on Minten I simply believe he’s doing well in Boston because there are so many open spots on the roster and he’s playing beside players who are forcing him to grow because of that. From an outsiders perspective, he would not have gotten it that opportunity in Toronto.
